Abstract

Mekar Mulio Village, located in Sei Balai District, Batu Bara Regency, North Sumatra, has a lot of agricultural potential, one of which is the lemongrass plant which can be used to make natural mosquito repellent products. However, there are problems related to people's understanding of the existing economic potential and a lack of interest and skills in product diversification. To solve this problem, the KKN 86 group conducted outreach on making natural mosquito repellent using lemongrass. The aim of this outreach is to increase the knowledge and skills of the community, especially PKK women, on how to use lemongrass as an innovative and environmentally friendly product. Socialization about making anti-mosquito medicine from lemongrass was carried out through lectures, discussions and direct demonstrations. The result is that participants are more adept at making natural mosquito repellent and better understand the various types of lemongrass products. The result is an effective mosquito repellent that smells refreshing. The response given by the community, village officials and PKK women showed positive results. The economic potential of lemongrass became clearer to the community, and they were inspired to develop businesses based on natural products. These activities not only offer a practical solution to the mosquito problem, but also strengthen local small and medium businesses and improve community welfare.

Abstract

Counseling in secondary schools plays a crucial role in providing psychosocial support and services for adolescents. However, in many schools in remote areas, the implementation of counseling faces various challenges, resulting in suboptimal counseling services. This research aims to develop a training module and counseling materials suitable for peer counselors in secondary schools. Preliminary studies indicate issues in counseling implementation, especially in remote areas, where counselors often lack a counseling education background. This limitation hinders effective counseling services for students in need. The research adopts a qualitative approach with the research and development (R&D) method. Data is collected through interviews, observations, and questionnaires from peer counselors, students, teachers, and other relevant stakeholders. The research stages include needs analysis, module design, development, limited trials, evaluation, revision, implementation, and effectiveness evaluation. The research results in a structured training module and counseling materials in the form of reading texts and PowerPoint presentations. These materials are designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of peer counselors in conducting effective counseling. The implementation of the module and counseling materials in secondary schools shows positive responses from peer counselors and students. Findings from effectiveness evaluations indicate that the training module and counseling materials positively contribute to improving peer counselors' understanding of counseling and assisting students in overcoming adolescent problems and challenges. Therefore, the development of these training modules and counseling materials is expected to serve as a useful guide and resource for peer counselors in secondary schools, particularly in remote areas, to enhance the quality of counseling services and ensure effective support for students.

Abstract

Konflik Afghanistan yang telah berlangsung lama belum menemukan titik temu perdamaian antara pemerintah Afghanistan dan Taliban sehingga melibatkan semua pihak terkait, termasuk negara-negara besar seperti Amerika Serikat (AS). Pemilihan Indonesia sebagai mediator konflik merupkan hal yang menarik mengingat posisi Indonesia yang notabene berada di kawasan asia Pasifik yang jauh dari pusat konflik. Untuk menganalisis arah politik luar negeri afghanistan dan faktor-faktor terhadap Indonesia, penulis menggunakan metode kualitatif-eksplanatif, penggalian data melalui wawancara, penelusuran buku, jurnal dan berita online, serta menggunakan konsep analisis politik luar negeri K. J. Holsti. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa pengambilan keputusan Afghanistan terkait resolusi konflik dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor internal dan eksternal. Ketertarikan Afghanistan terhadap Indonesia didorong oleh beberapa kesamaan, antara lain, karakteristk penduduk Muslim, negara demokratis, serta peran ulama. Selain itu, keaktifan Indonesia dalam menjaga perdamaian dunia, pengalamannya dalam menangani konflik dalam negeri yang majemuk, politik luar negeri yang netral dan tidak memiliki kepentingan apapun di konflik afghanistan, sekaligus pengaruh ormas Islam dalam perdamaian dan pembangunan Indonesia dan dunia telah menarik perhatian Afghanistan untuk memilih Indonesia sebagai mediator.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate China’s proactive stance toward developing tight ties with the Taliban regime. The author applies external-internal setting theory to examine China’s reasons for not carrying out Government Recognition to Taliban regime along with rational choice theory to emphasize why the choice to recognize the Taliban only as a de facto is the best solution for China’s current national interests. To study China’s foreign policy, a qualitative-explanatory method with a deductive method is used. After analyzing China’s concerns about Xinjiang instability as one of the “5 Poisons” and China’s security projects and investments in Afghanistan and the South and Central Asia region due to the Taliban’s weak legitimacy, this paper concludes that the recognition of Taliban regime is not a priority agenda at this time. Abstract

Students need to be indoctrinated with the importance of having a decent Muslim personality. The Muslim personality is characterised by beliefs, attitudes, choices, and behaviours that are grounded in Islamic principles. As such, developing this personality requires more than simply education—it also requires modelling and habituation. Thus, the purpose of this research is to investigate and explain how Islamic culture shapes the Muslim personalities of MTsN 1 Probolinggo pupils. A qualitative descriptive methodology, akin to a case study, was used to collect the data. Data collection methods included documentation, observation, and interviews. Data reduction, display, and conclusion-drawing were used in the analytical process. The study's findings demonstrate that MTsN 1 Probolinggo implements religious culture in a number of ways, including communal prayer, Al-Qur'an coaching, infaq, tahlil, istighasah, and environmental care

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh lingkungan pada pemahaman siswa terhadap materi pecahan dalam pelajaran matematika di MIS Ali Imron. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah observasi terhadap lingkungan di sekitar sekolah serta analisis terhadap keterampilan siswa dalam memahami materi pecahan. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa lingkungan sekitar sekolah, termasuk keluarga, teman sebaya, dan media massa, memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap cara siswa memahami dan mengaplikasikan materi pecahan. Lingkungan yang mendukung dan menjunjung tinggi nilai pendidikan matematika mampu memperkuat pemahaman siswa terhadap materi pecahan. Sebaliknya, lingkungan yang kurang mendukung atau memberikan pemahaman yang keliru terhadap materi pecahan dapat menghambat kemampuan siswa dalam memahami pelajaran matematika tersebut. Oleh karena itu, perlu adanya peran aktif dari guru dan keluarga dalam menciptakan lingkungan yang mendukung dan memperkuat pemahaman siswa terhadap materi pecahan dalam pelajaran matematika.
