Abstract

This study explores the effect of skincare product texture on users’ emotional responses, especially female adolescents aged 16–21 years. Using mixed-method, quantitative and qualitative approach, this study is conducted in Jakarta, Tangerang, Bandung, Banyumas, and Yogyakarta. Total of 30 participants in this study follow three stages of product use: First Touch, During Application, and After-Absorption. Participants’ emotions are measured using the Self-Assessment Manikin (SAM) for the dimensions of valence, arousal, and dominance, and also the PANAS scale to measure changes in positive and negative emotions before and after using the skincare product. The result shows that at the First Touch stage, there is no significant difference in emotions statistically. However, qualitative data reveal variations in perceptions of sticky or runny texture. At the During Application stage, softness shows a significant effect on the sense of control and positive emotions. Meanwhile, at the After-Absorption stage, stickiness, greasiness, and film residue have a significant effect. Product with a soft texture, fast absorption, and no residue (product 2) is the most preferred and show to significantly reduce negative emotions based on the PANAS scale. This study emphasizes the importance of considering texture in skincare product development, as sensory experiences play a role in shaping user emotions. Further research is recommended to explore ingredients such as humectants and occlusives, as well as using physiological tools such as facial coding or EEG to gain a more objective understanding.

Abstract

Islamophobia, a growing concern worldwide, has been increasingly shaped by the spread of misinformation and negative stereotypes through social media platforms. In Indonesia, where Islam is the predominant religion, the rise of Islamophobic discourse on social media has created significant challenges for the Muslim community and interfaith relations. This study explores the role of social media in shaping public opinion about Islamophobia in Indonesia. The research investigates how social media platforms, particularly Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, contribute to the formation and dissemination of Islamophobic narratives, and how these narratives influence public perceptions of Islam and Muslims. A mixed-methods approach was used, combining content analysis of social media posts with surveys of Indonesian internet users to assess their awareness of Islamophobic content and its effects. The findings reveal that social media platforms play a critical role in amplifying Islamophobic discourse, often without sufficient counter-narratives or fact-checking. The study concludes that social media has a dual role, both as a platform for disseminating negative stereotypes and as a potential space for countering Islamophobia through education and positive engagement.

Abstract

Dalam era digital, keterampilan pemrograman menjadi elemen penting dalam berbagai disiplin ilmu, termasuk Teknik Sipil dan Ilmu Komunikasi. Penelitian ini membandingkan dua bahasa pemrograman, QB64 dan Python, dalam konteks visualisasi gaya geser dan momen lentur pada balok, guna mengidentifikasi efektivitas keduanya dalam menyampaikan informasi teknis secara visual dan komunikatif. QB64, sebagai bahasa berbasis BASIC, menawarkan sintaks sederhana dan mudah dipahami, sehingga cocok untuk pemula dan pembelajaran konsep dasar. Namun, keterbatasan dalam visualisasi grafis dan skalabilitas program membatasi penerapannya dalam konteks profesional. Sebaliknya, Python menyediakan fleksibilitas tinggi, didukung oleh pustaka ilmiah seperti NumPy dan Matplotlib, yang memungkinkan visualisasi data teknik yang presisi dan komunikatif. Dari sudut pandang komunikasi, Python mampu menerjemahkan data numerik menjadi bentuk visual yang lebih mudah dipahami oleh audiens lintas disiplin, meningkatkan efektivitas penyampaian pesan dalam ranah akademik dan praktis. Melalui pendekatan ini, diperoleh pemahaman bahwa pemilihan bahasa pemrograman bukan hanya soal teknis, tetapi juga berkaitan erat dengan strategi komunikasi visual. Python dinilai lebih unggul dalam menyampaikan informasi kompleks dengan cara yang sistematis, modular, dan interaktif. Oleh karena itu, integrasi antara kompetensi teknis dan kemampuan komunikasi digital menjadi kunci dalam pengembangan program edukatif dan profesional di bidang teknik. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan Python sebagai media utama untuk visualisasi teknik yang informatif dan komunikatif.

Abstract

Krisis identitas merupakan fase penting dalam perkembangan remaja yang ditandai dengan pencarian jati diri serta kebingungan terhadap nilai dan tujuan hidup. Serial Adolescence menyajikan gambaran dinamika krisis identitas pada remaja melalui karakter dan alur cerita yang dekat dengan realitas remaja masa kini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui representasi krisis identitas pada remaja dalam serial Adolescence dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode analisis semiotika John Fiske melalui tiga level pengkodean: level realitas, level representasi, dan level ideologi, serta didukung paradigma interpretatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, studi dokumentasi, studi pustaka, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada level realitas, krisis identitas terlihat dari ekspresi, gestur, lingkungan sosial, dan gaya bicara tokoh. Level representasi menampilkan ketegangan psikologis melalui teknik pengambilan gambar, pencahayaan, dialog, dan konflik antar tokoh. Sementara pada level ideologi, ditemukan nilai-nilai individualisme dan eksistensialisme, di mana remaja dituntut utnuk membentuk jati diri di tengah tekanan lingkungan yang minim dukungan.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital telah menjadikan influencer marketing sebagai strategi yang sangat efektif dalam membentuk citra merek dan mendorong keputusan pembelian, terutama dalam industri kecantikan. Generasi Z (Gen Z), yang lahir antara tahun 1997 hingga 2012, dikenal sangat aktif di media sosial dan cenderung menjadikan ulasan influencer yang jujur sebagai referensi utama sebelum membeli suatu produk. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan menguji secara empiris seberapa besar pengaruh influencer Tasya Farasya (X) terhadap Brand Image Somethinc (Y1) dan Keputusan Pembelian (Y2) di kalangan konsumen Generasi Z. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif asosiatif dengan teknik Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) dan analisis regresi linear sederhana. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner daring (online) dengan teknik purposive sampling yang disebarkan kepada 128 responden Generasi Z di Indonesia yang mengenal Tasya Farasya dan produk Somethinc. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa variabel Influencer Tasya Farasya (X) secara simultan memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap Brand Image Somethinc (Y1) dan Keputusan Pembelian Gen Z (Y2). Pengaruh Tasya Farasya mampu menjelaskan variasi Brand Image Somethinc sebesar 57,1% dan variasi Keputusan Pembelian sebesar 56,1%; sisanya dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor lain di luar model. Koefisien regresi positif (X terhadap Y1: 0,762; X terhadap Y2: 0,893) mengindikasikan bahwa peningkatan kepercayaan dan keterkaitan konten Tasya Farasya secara linier akan memperkuat citra merek dan niat membeli Somethinc bagi Gen Z. Temuan ini memperkuat pentingnya strategi pemasaran digital dengan melibatkan influencer untuk meningkatkan daya tarik merek dan loyalitas konsumen di pasar Gen Z.

Abstract

The conglomeration of the Walt Disney Company as a global media and entertainment giant has significant impacts on the media industry in Indonesia. Through media political economy strategies such as vertical integration, horizontal integration, and specialization, Disney has established hegemony that influences local media content. This study employs qualitative methods with a critical paradigm approach to observe these implications. Findings indicate that the homogenization of content produced by Disney affects the perceptions of Indonesian society, particularly concerning definitions of beauty and gender constructions. Therefore, enforcing regulations against media ownership concentration and supporting local companies is crucial to maintaining cultural diversity and the quality of national content.

Abstract

Instagram is a social media platform that is highly popular among the public, and its use is not limited to individuals but also extends to organizations and companies. PT. Transportasi Jakarta (TransJakarta) uses Instagram as a tool to support its reputation and image in the eyes of the public. The purpose of this study is to understand the role of Instagram in building the image of TransJakarta and to analyze the news content on the Instagram account owned by TransJakarta. In this research, the theory and method used is media ecology theory with a qualitative research approach. The nature or type of this research is descriptive research. Data collection techniques were carried out in the form of primary and secondary data. In this study, the researcher used source triangulation as a data validation technique. From the research results, it was found that the role of public relations in enhancing the image of TransJakarta through Instagram has been effective. This is evident from the positive feedback, the growing number of followers, and the increased engagement with TransJakarta's Instagram account.
