Abstract

Humans are creatures that rely on nature as a place to meet their needs. However, often the exploration of nature turns into exploitation that destroys nature until it loses its usefulness. Some indigenous peoples are people who still hold fast to the noble values of their ancestors. One of these indigenous peoples is the indigenous people of Kampung Naga in Tasikmalaya. The main study conducted by the researcher is to identify the values of local ecological wisdom of the local culture of the Kampung Naga community which can be a reference in social studies learning in elementary school grade V. This study uses a qualitative method with an ethnographic approach that studies the cultural values in Kampung Naga, through interview techniques with two informants, namely tourguides and experts in the fields of Geography, observation,  and documentation studies. The results of the study show that the traditional village community of Kampung Naga has local ecological wisdom values, both in terms of regional spatial planning, disaster mitigation, environmental conservation, daily consumption patterns, spring protection, prohibited forest protection, agricultural activities, and fisheries conservation. Unique ecological value can also be found by the separation of the area into the upper (sacred), middle (neutral), and lower (gross) areas. The value of disaster mitigation and environmentally friendly consumption patterns also exists in taboos or pamali which are still a guideline for the people of Kampung Naga.

Abstract

The integration of culture in education, known as ethnopedagogy, enhances learning effectiveness. However, limited research exists on this topic.  Therefore, this study aims to explore ethnopedagogical content in gendang beleq art, serving as a reference for integrating culture and local wisdom in Indonesia. This research adopts a qualitative approach, utilizing a literature study method to gather information from various relevant sources like articles, proceedings, and books. The data was analyzed using a qualitative content analysis approach with thematic analysis. Findings reveal that gendang beleq art contains various ethnopedagogical contents. These include ethnomathematics concepts like geometric shapes (such as half a needle, beam, and tube) and flat shapes (triangles, pentagons, and circles). Additionally, the art form incorporates ethnoscience concepts related to sound, as well as concepts of motion, locomotors in floor formations or patterns, and dance during drum beleq performances. Lastly, it encompasses the content of the Pancasila concept, emphasizing integration, unity, justice, and equality. These findings highlight gendang beleq art as a valuable reference for cultural products and local wisdom, with the potential to enhance ethnopedagogical-based learning implementation. Keywords: Ethnopedagogy, Gendang beleq, Sasak ethnic, Traditional art

Abstract

Implementing the experiential learning model is one effective step in improving student learning outcomes, but recent evidence regarding its effectiveness is still inconsistent and not widely reported. Therefore, to gain a deep understanding and identify the effectiveness of experiential learning practices, this meta-analysis review was conducted. This review was conducted on 23 studies with 40 effect sizes obtained from the Scopus, ERIC, and Web of Science databases. The analysis model used was a random effects model with a robust variance estimation (RVE) approach to address the issue of interdependence between effect sizes within a single study. The measurement results show a high overall effect size (Hedges's g = 1.15; 95% CI), indicating a significant positive impact. Heterogeneity estimates are very high (I² = 98.2%), requiring further moderator analysis. Meta-regression analysis of the variables of education level, treatment type, and learning outcome dimension showed that only the education level variable approached significance in moderating the variation in learning outcomes. Subgroup analysis showed variation in the effectiveness of intervention implementation within each moderator category, but all were within the positive range. Publication bias tests showed bias, but correction using the trim-and-fill method and Peter's test proved that these findings remained consistent and valid. Overall, experiential learning has proven effective in enhancing and shaping various dimensions of student learning outcomes. This approach has great potential to continue being used and integrated into future learning practices, especially through the support of various pedagogical innovations and technology integration.
