Abstract

The best or maximum income is achieved when the production level is optimal. Farmer income is one of the motivations for farmers to carry out their farming business. Profitability or farmer income and supported by good farming feasibility through the large ratio of income to farming costs. This research aims to analyze the comparative income, feasibility, and profitability of rainfed lowland rice farming. This research was conducted in Sape'e and Coppo Villages, Barru District, and Lompo Tengah and Lempang Villages, Tanete Riaja District, Barru Regency. The total population of the study was 367 people, while the sample of farmers who were used as respondents was 70 people. To get the number of samples a multi-stage cluster random sampling technique. Data collection techniques used are observation/observation, interviews, and documentation. Data sources in this research are primary data and secondary data. The data analysis method used is quantitative descriptive analysis and profitability with an independent sample t-test. The results showed that the income from rainfed lowland rice farming in the Tanete Riaja District was greater than that of the Barru District. Meanwhile, feasibility and profitability (Net Farm Income, Return on Investment, and Break Event Point) do not have a big difference between Barru District and Tanete Riaja District. Rice farming income in the research area still needs to be increased by reducing production input costs and the government must maintain subsidies for production inputs, especially fertilizer. With this subsidy, fertilizer use as recommended can be carried out to increase the production produced by farmers.

Abstract

Income aims to describe the state of ongoing agricultural activities and to describe the conditions of plans or actions in the future. A high feasibility ratio is expected to increase the income level of farmers. The survival of agriculture is a measure to state that the business is feasible in the sense that it can provide and generate profits. The purpose of this study was to analyze the comparative income and feasibility of rainfed lowland rice farming. Data collection techniques used are observation/observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis method used is quantitative descriptive analysis for income and feasibility. The results showed that the average income in Barru District was IDR 4,803,663.33. While the average income in Tanete Riaja District is IDR 7,042,598.06. Based on the results of the t-test analysis, there is a difference and a significant effect with an error rate of 1% in terms of income. Barru District (Sape'e and Coppo Villages) obtained an R/C ratio value of 1.94. It can be interpreted that each expenditure costs IDR 1.00 then you will get an income of IDR 1.94. Meanwhile, Tanete Riaja Subdistrict (Lompo Tengah and Lempang Villages) obtained an R/C ratio value of 2.20. This means that each expenditure costs IDR 1.00 then you will get an income of IDR 2,20. With the results of the feasibility value obtained from rainfed lowland rice farming in Barru District (Sape'e and Coppo Villages) and Tanete Riaja District (Lompo Tengah and Lempang Villages) Barru Regency, it is feasible to cultivate. The income from rainfed lowland rice farming in Tanete Riaja District (Lompo Tengah and Lempang Villages) is greater than Barru District (Sape'e and Coppo Villages) Barru Regency. Tanete Riaja Subdistrict (Lompo Tengah and Lempang Villages) has greater eligibility than Barru District (Sape'e and Coppo Villages).

Abstract

The ability of land with different properties, regional characteristics, and soil nutrient status to affect the productivity of coffee plants is affected, so it is important to evaluate regional characteristics and soil nutrient status so that the land suitability class for coffee plant cultivation can be known. The purpose of this study was to provide information on the extent of the level of land and climate suitability of Bentenge Village, Mallawa Subdistrict, for robusta coffee cultivation. The research was conducted from September to December 2022 in Bentenge Village, Malawa District, Maros Regency, which has been cultivating coffee, especially robusta coffee, for decades. This research method uses a survey approach and laboratory analysis, whose results are interpreted into a land suitability map. Furthermore, data on regional conditions and nutrient status in Bentenge Village were juxtaposed with good coffee cultivation guidelines in MOA No. 49 of 2014 to determine the level of land suitability for robusta coffee cultivation. The results showed that the land in Bentenge Village, Mallawa Sub-district, is suitable (S2) to marginally suitable (S3) for the development of robusta coffee cultivation..
