Abstract

Recurrent herpes labialis (RHL) is a common manifestation of herpes simplex virus (HSV) reactivation in immunocompetent individuals, whereas angular cheilitis is an inflammatory lesion occurring on one or both lip commissures and is induced by local and/or systemic conditions. We describe a case of RHL eruption on the corner of the mouth, easily mistaken as angular cheilitis. Case Report: A 21-year-old male presented to our dental hospital with a 3 day history of a painful, unilateral lesion on the left corner of his mouth. The lesion featured an erythematous base with a yellowish crust that extended outward. We diagnosed the lesion as RHL. We prescribed chlorhexidine solution and topical acyclovir to be applied onto the lesion. At 2 weeks follow-up, the lesion was resolved. An RHL lesion that erupts on the corner of the mouth may initially resemble angular cheilitis. However, the typical clinical presentation, history of recurrence, and the absence of predisposing factors for other lesions suggested an infection caused by HSV. Conclusion: RHL which occurred at one side of the mouth corner can be similar with unilateral AC. But, detailed history taking and clinical observation led to correct diagnosis and management.

Abstract

Multiple ulcerations are rarely caused by a traumatic event, but seizures can induce repeated injury to the oral mucosa. A patient with a seizure history possesses a challenge in their dental management. Objective: In order to describe a case of multiple oral ulceration in a post-seizure patient with undiagnosed arteriovenous malformation (AVM) in the left parietal lobe and provide short guidelines for dentists in managing patient with a seizure history. Case report: A 23-years old female had multiple oral ulceration in the right and left buccal mucosa and her tongue. She reported having a seizure attack six days before. The patient never had a history of seizures or recurrent oral ulceration. During the seizure, improper placement of the spoon caused further damage to her oral mucosa. The trigger of her seizure is unknown. Based on the neurological consultation, she had an AVM on the left temporal lobe. In order to relieve pain, mouthwash containing aloe vera, sodium hyaluronate, glycyrhettinic acid, and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) was prescribed. Conclusion: Dentists should be aware that oral mucosal injury can be related to a seizure disorder. A proper history and examination are essential to make an appropriate diagnosis. A safe dental treatment in seizure patients can be delivered accordingly.

Abstract

Various normal and pathologic findings might occasionally be found on the tongue and might confuse some patients and clinician due to its atypical presentation. This case report aimed to present a case report of multiple oral findings related to variants of normal and pathological findings on the tongue: geographic tongue, fissured tongue, and central papillary atrophy. A 53-year-old male patient came to Universitas Indonesia Dental Hospital for a dental check-up. Objective examination in the tongue showed depapilated areas surrounded by keratinized lining in the ventral and lateral left and right area of the tongue, multiple fissures in all over the dorsum of the tongue, and an ovoid redness area in the middle of 2/3 posterior dorsum part of the tongue. All those findings were asymptomatic. Those clinical findings were diagnosed as geographic tongue, fissured tongue, and central papillary atrophy. This case presents unique multiple variants of normal and pathological findings in the tongue. It is important to an oral health professional to have knowledge and ability to determine normal anatomy, variants of normal and pathological lesions. Patients should be informed and educated about oral mucosa normal variations and related clinical findings so they would not develop unnecessary anxiety. Keywords: central papillary atrophy, fissured tongue, geographic tongue, normal variations

Abstract

Work engagement is one of the things that is necessary for the progress of the organization. Employees who are involved in their work will have the motivation to consistently contribute. Previous research has shown that there is a driving force needed so that employees are willing to mobilize their resources to achieve organizational goals. One of the predictors that can affect engagement is employee well-being. Employees who have experienced prosperity will be willing to return the favor by showing dedication. In addition to well-being, the existence of support from the organization has the potential to moderate work engagement. Various forms of positive support given will make employees more enthusiastic at work. Based on this, this study aims to examine the role of the variable perceived organizational support (POS) in strengthening the effect of well-being on work engagement. Social exchange theory is used to help understand the interrelationships between variables. The research was conducted on employees in the food industry in Indonesia. Variable indicators adapted from previous studies. All the indicators used are reflexive. The primary data that has been obtained is tested using the SmartPLS software. The results of the study show that well-being and POS affect work engagement. The effect of well-being on work engagement is moderated by POS.

Abstract

Based on variables related to consumer behavior, the purpose of this study is to examine how brand awareness, electronic word-of-mouth (eWOM), and digital accessibility affect purchase decisions. Both quantitative and qualitative data are the kind of data that are employed. Both primary and secondary data sources are utilised. Customers of e-grocery who purchase fruit are sent a questionnaire via Google Form as part of the data collection process. The researcher came to the conclusion that there were 100 respondents in the sample. Both qualitative and quantitative analysis will be performed on the data collected from the questionnaire. In order to test the research concurrently, structural equation modeling (SEM) and partial least squares (PLS) analysis are utilized, with the smartPLS program. Drawing from the analysis and explanation presented above, the following deductions can be made: The behavior of consumers is not really impacted by brand awareness. Digital accessibility and electronic word-of-mouth (eWOM) have a genuine and substantial impact on e-grocery consumer behavior. It's probable that customer behavior is influenced by the lifestyle of internet buying. Purchase decisions are actually and significantly influenced by digital accessibility and brand awareness. Digital accessibility and electronic word-of-mouth have a genuine and substantial impact on customer behavior. Opinion leaders and reference groups may have an impact on customer behavior when it comes to emotional factors influencing purchase decisions.

Abstract

This long-standing lack of attention to and knowledge of virtuous character may explain why many leaders attempt to get ahead by making mistakes and why virtuous character traits often do not play a significant role in the training and evaluation of leaders. A possible reason for the lack of studies on the virtuous character of a leader is the lack of clarity of definition; Moreover, some scholars consider Virtue as well as good character to be too abstract and general to measure. This research aims to overcome the lack of research on the role of a leader's virtuous leadership on employee welfare. This research also adds the moderating variable trust in virtuous leaders. This research uses a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design. Data collection techniques were carried out using surveys. The research population consisted of 200 employees spread across Indonesia. And the analysis technique uses Smart PLS. The results of this research have found that virtuous leadership influences employee welfare, and trust as moderation is able to moderate virtuous leadership on employee welfare.
