Abstract

Values based education has become major concern in building character, especially for younger generation. This article explores implementation of character education through integration of politeness, tahfidz (spiritual memorization), and science learning programs. Research methods used include literature analysis and case studies to examine impact of these programs on student character formation. The findings suggest integration of modesty, tahfidz, and science learning programs can serve as strong foundation for building ethical and strong character. Adab program focuses on promoting good behavior and ethics, because adab program plays an important role in helping students understand ethics and good behavior when interacting with friends or other people. Meanwhile, tahfidz program strengthens spiritual values and obedience, helps shape students' pious character, which leads to improved behavior, discipline, enthusiasm for learning, and self-confidence, instill love Al-Qur'an and knowledge of religious practices. Additionally, science learning gives students deep understanding of universe and encourages critical and creative thinking. Science learning encourages students to think creatively, there are providing space for students to generate new ideas, explore alternative approaches, and develop innovative solutions to complex challenges. Integration of these three programs creates holistic and integrated learning environment, enabling students to develop as responsible and ethical individuals.

Abstract

Pembelajaran dengan model Complete Sentence adalah salah satu model pembelajaraan kooperatif yang menuntut para murid untuk bisa bekerja sama dalam satu kelompok. Studi ini bertujuan agar mengetahui: (I) meningkatkan hasil kemampuan murid (II) kesesuaian murid dan aktivitas guru (III) keterampilan guru dalam mengelola pembelajaran (IV) respon murid terhadap pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Complete Sentence berbantuan media audio visual. Pendekatan yang dipergunakan dalam studi ini ialah pendekatan kualitatif berbentuk PTK (Classroom process research) subjek dalam studi ini yakni ruang 10-IS II yang berjumlah 26 murid. Analisis data memakai statistik deskriftif persentase. Hasil studi memperlihatkan bahwa (I) persentase ketuntasan secara individual bertambah dari 16 murid yang tuntas atas siklus 1, 20 murid yang tuntas atas siklus 2, dan 24 murid yang tuntas atas siklus 3, persentase ketuntasan klasikal juga bertambah dari 50% atas siklus 1, 70% atas siklus 2, dan 90% atas siklus 3; (II) Jumlah kesesuaian aktivitas pengajar dan murid bertambah per 5 aktivitas sesuai atas siklus 1 dari 7 aktivitas sesuai atas siklus 2 dan 9 aktivitas sesuai atas siklus 3; (III) keterampilan guru bertambah dari perolehan nilai 2,6 atas siklus 1 dengan kategori sedang, nilai 3,2 atas siklus 2 dengan kategori baik, dan nilai 3,5 atas siklus 3 dengan kategori baik; (IV) sebanyak 100% murid menyatakan bahwa model pembelajaran Complete Sentence adalah baru membantu murid dalam mencerna suatu pelajaran. Berdasarkan hasil studi ini bias dideterminasi bahwa, terdapat pengintensifan kinerja belajar murid sejak dari siklus 1 sapai siklus 3 dengan menggunakan model Complete Sentence berbantuan media audio visual di kelas X-IS 2 SMA Negeri 12 Banda Aceh.Kata kunci: Penerapan, Model Complete Sentence, Hasil Belajar, Geografi

Abstract

This classroom action research aimed to improve the speaking ability of first-year students at SMP Negeri 1 Kebumen through the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model, targeting the enhancement of student’s 21st century skills. The study was conducted in class VII A, involving 30 students as the sample. The research was implemented in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected using both qualitative and quantitative methods, including speaking tests, observation sheets, and student interviews. The instruments employed for data collection were validated for reliability and consistency. The implementation of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model can significantly improve students’ speaking skill as well as foster their 21st century skills, such as engagement, critical thinking, and communication. The results indicated a significant improvement in the students' speaking skill, as evidenced by the increased mean scores from the pre-test to the post-test in both cycles. Additionally, the students demonstrated enhanced engagement, critical thinking, and communication skills. Findings confirm that the CTL model is effective in improving student’s speaking skill and simultaneously strengthening their 21st century skills. Therefore, the CTL model can be recommended as a valuable strategy for enhancing both linguistic proficiency and essential competencies in junior high school students.
