Abstract

ABSTRACT Stunting can be caused by several factors, including poor nutritional intake during pregnancy in toddlers. Some of them are readiness to become mothers where this is motivated by a very high rate of early marriage. Unpreparedness in facing motherhood can affect perceptions in parenting. This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of maternal knowledge about nutrition of pregnant women with the incidence of stunting in children under five in Sisir Village, Batu City with a cross-sectional analytical descriptive design involving 56 respondents consisting of maternal respondents and toddlers aged 1-5 years with purposive sampling techniques.  Data were collected with maternal knowledge level questionnaires during pregnancy and z score graphs. Results: Data analysis using Spearman Rank test with α = 0.05. The results showed that the significance value (sig) or p value was 0.009. Because the value of sig (0.009) > (0.05) with a correlation value of 0.347, the results of the data obtained from respondents mean h0 rejected h1 accepted. There is a relationship between the level of knowledge of parents and the incidence of stunting in toddlers.  The results of the study concluded that there is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge of parents and the incidence of stunting in toddlers. Discussion: In Batu city comb sub-district. It is hoped that mothers can try to find knowledge and information related to nutrition and other factors that can cause stunting, and mothers can start paying attention to nutrition during pregnancy for preventive measures against the impact of stunting on the development of the next child at birth. Keywords: Maternal Knowledge, Gestation Period, Incidence Of Stunting

The sampling technique uses purposive sampling technique. The instrument in this study used a questionnaire containing questions about family support and Morisky medication adherence (MMAS). The sample was selected by consecutive sampling and 30 respondents were obtained. The research results showed that almost half had good family support (46.7%) and most were compliant with taking medication (63.3%). Based on the Spearman's Rho Test statistical test, it shows that the ρ value = 0.002 < α (0.05), which means Ha is accepted so it can be concluded, there is a relationship between family support and adherence to taking medication for hypertension at Puskesmas Sawahan Kabupaten Nganjuk.

Abstract

Background: Adolescence is a transitional period from childhood to adulthood, marked by various complex physical and emotional changes, including behaviors such as attraction to the opposite sex, which then triggers sexual urges. Sexual behavior refers to all actions driven by sexual desire towards the opposite sex. Parenting patterns within the family hold a strategic value in shaping a child's personality and play a very important role in adolescent development. Objective: To examine the relationship between parenting patterns and sexual behavior among adolescent congregants in the city of Malang. Methods: This study used an analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study consisted of 100 individuals, using total sampling techniques. Data analysis was conducted using univariate and bivariate analysis with the Chi-Square test. Results: Univariate analysis showed that nearly half (49%) of adolescents in one community at a house of worship in the City of Malang had democratic parenting from their parents. Furthermore, more than half (51%) of adolescents in the same community exhibited risky sexual behavior. Bivariate analysis found a significant relationship between parenting patterns and sexual behavior among adolescents, with a p-value = 0.000. Conclusion: Adolescents who receive permissive and authoritarian parenting tend to have riskier sexual behavior compared to those who receive democratic parenting. Parenting patterns are influenced by parental education; the higher the parents' education level, the better the type of parenting provided to their children.

Abstract

Factors associated with the incidence of pneumonia include age, sex, low birth weight, immunization status, breastfeeding practices, vitamin A supplementation, nutritional status, residential density, housing characteristics, ventilation, floor type, lighting, humidity, type of cooking fuel, family income, maternal knowledge, as well as maternal factors such as education, age, and exposure to cigarette smoke. This study aimed to determine the relationship between parental smoking behavior and the incidence of pneumonia in children. A quantitative correlational design with a cross-sectional approach was used. The study involved 32 subjects selected through purposive sampling. The results showed that most parents had light smoking behavior (59,3%), and the majority of children did not experience pneumonia (71,9%). A significant relationship was found between parental smoking behavior and the incidence of pneumonia in children, with a Spearman Rank significance value of p = 0,008 (p-value < 0,05). It was important for parents to avoid smoking around children and to create a smoke-free home environment in order to prevent respiratory infections in children.
