The sample was 111 students consisting of students from 10 state high schools in Malang City. The sampling technique uses simple random sampling and proportional sampling. The majority of the research results were 104 (93.7%) respondents who were genetically obese and the majority, namely 65 (58.6%) respondents who had obese families, were overweight. Most of the respondents who had a family history of experiencing excess nutritional status were 32 respondents (28.8%) meaning that family history, namely parents, was higher, increasing the risk of experiencing excess nutritional status, especially in mothers and the majority, namely 16 (14.4%). The results of the analysis show that there is a significant genetic influence on overnutrition status, where the statistical t value is 4.277, meaning ? 1.96 and the p value is 0.000, meaning ? 0.05, so it can be concluded that genetics has a significant effect on overnutrition status.

Abstract

Introduction: The preliminary study at Ridwanussholihin Kindergarten in Malang City shows that there are still many preschool children who use gadgets for >1 hour. The relatively long use of gadgets in preschool children can have positive and negative impacts.  Objectives: The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between the duration of gadget use and the social development of preschool children (4-5 years old) at Ridwanussholihin Kindergarten in Malang City. Methods: This research applies a quantitative approach with the Cross-Sectional method. The application of the total sampling technique resulted in a sample size of 50 people. Data analysis through univariate analysis and bivariate analysis.  Results: The results of the analysis showed that most of the respondents as many as 29 respondents (58%) were in the normal social development category, and the remaining 21 respondents (42%) were in the suspect development category. Then the proportion of respondents related to the duration of gadget use is relatively balanced, 25 people (50%) use gadgets for ≤ 1 hour (normal), and 25 people (50%) with a duration of > 1 hour (long). In the Spearman correlation test, the sig value <0.05 is 0.001, so the decision is that there is a positive and significant relationship between the duration of gadget use and the social development of preschool children.  Discussion: Intense exposure to gadgets has limited stimulus and optimization of social development. Therefore, synergy between the school and parents in establishing policies regarding the use and supervision of gadgets is needed, as an effort to prevent the use of gadgets from replacing direct social interactions that are essential for children's development.

Abstract

Objective: This research aimed to analyze the relationship between the length of operation time and the anxiety of the families of pediatric elective surgery patients at the Central Surgical Installation of RSUD Dr. Saiful Anwar Malang. Methods: The research method in this study uses a descriptive analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample for this study was the families of patients who underwent elective pediatric surgery at the Central Surgical Installation of RSUD Dr. Saiful Anwar Malang. As many as 37 respondents were selected using the total sampling. The instruments used were the Hamilton Rating Scale for Anxiety (HARS) to measure family anxiety and an observation sheet to assess the length of operation time. Results: This study show that almost half of the patient's families have a moderate level of anxiety with a moderate level of operating time (60 – 180 minutes). The Spearman Rank test show a significant relationship between the length of operation time and the anxiety of the families of elective surgery patients for pediatric surgery patients at the Central Surgery Installation of RSUD Dr. Saiful Anwar Malang (p-value 0.000; r: 0.841). Conclusion: The long duration of surgery causes parents to worry because they think about the complexity of the surgical procedure and the increased risk of surgery for the child. It is hoped that this research can be a study for nurses and hospitals regarding the management of anxiety in the families of patients undergoing elective pediatric surgery with a long surgical duration.

Abstract

A head injury is scary. Head injuries can be fatal and require medical attention. Trauma severity evaluation helps clinicians make informed judgements, create effective treatment plans, reduce time and costs, and maybe prevent brain injury impairment and death. A comprehensive physiological grading system, the Revised Trauma Score evaluates human physiological function. This study examines the relationship between the Revised Trauma Score and head injury fatalities at RSUD dr. Saiful Anwar Malang. The research uses cross-sectional and observational correlation analytic methods. The study sampled 70 people incidentally. Used secondary data from observation sheets and medical records. The majority of 46 respondents (65.7%) had RTS scores of 11-12, indicating low brain injury. Despite the high mortality rate, 57 respondents (81.43%) survived. Spearman rank test two variables for correlation. The study found a 0.000 p-value between the RTS category and head injury mortality at RSUD Dr. Saiful Anwar Malang. Lighter RTS categories have lower mortality rates, while heavier ones have higher rates. RTS's effectiveness in predicting head injury death needs further study.
