Abstract

Modul bentuk molekul berbasis inkuiri terstruktur telah diuji validitas dan praktikalitasnya, namun belum diuji efektivitasnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan efektivitas penggunaan modul tersebut terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Jenis Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu dengan desain one grup pretest-posttest design. Populasii penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X SMAN 1 Sungai Tarab. Sampel penelitian diambil dengan menggunakan teknik random sampling dan terpilih kelas X MIPA 3. Berdasarkan hasil uji-t pada taraf nyata 0,05 diperoleh thitung=2,62 dan ttabel=1,68 hal ini dapat diartikan hasil belajar siswa menggunakan modul bentuk molekul berbasis inkuiri terstruktur meningkat. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa modul bentuk molekul berbasis inkuiri terstruktur efektif untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas X.

Abstract

Cooking oil is one of the staple ingredients for cooking which is very popular in Indonesian society. The cooking oil most often used for cooking by the community is palm oil, because it is easy to obtain and has a relatively affordable price. But on the other hand cooking oil which is repeatedly heated at high temperatures can have harmful effects on the body, especially with the presence of solutes in the ingredients that are fried. This study aims to determine the quality of palm oil from tempe frying which contains vegetable protein for 1 hour at 160 C. The cooking oil is heated for 1 hour then put in the tempe and removed after it is cooked, after 1 hour the oil is cooled and its quality is tested by testing the density, flow rate, acid number and saponification number. The results showed that after cooking for 1 hour testing the tempe frying oil, the quality of the oil based on the quality standard value was bimoli, followed by pure essence and fortune. The quality of bimoli oil from tempe frying for one hour was with a density of 0.9233 gr/mL, a flow rate of 3.805 mL/s, an acid number of 8.0536 mgKOH/g and a saponification number of 16.091 mgKOH/g.

Abstract

The use of synthetic food coloring raised the risk of chronic diseases, which was a serious problem in the food industry. To overcome this, a study was carried out on functional foods, especially synbiotic yogurt set, to evaluate betacyanin as a natural dye that had antioxidant properties. The goal was to provide an alternative solution to counteract free radicals, which are known to contribute to chronic diseases. This study examined the effect of betacyanin extract on lactic acid levels using homolactic fermentation. The experiment method involved a triplicate pattern, and different variations of betacyanin extract (5 mL, 10 mL, and 15 mL) were tested, alongside a negative control consisting of the synbiotic yogurt set without the addition of betacyanin extract. Statistical analysis, including One Way ANOVA and Tukey's test with GraphPad Prism 10.0, demonstrated that betacyanin had a significant impact on lactic acid levels. The synbiotic yogurt set with 15 mL of betacyanin extract exhibited the highest lactic acid content (1.88%), while the negative control displayed the lowest lactic acid content (0.98%). These findings indicate that betacyanin, as a natural dye, that had antioxidant properties and was capable of increasing the lactic acid content in the synbiotic yogurt set.Keywords — Betacyanine, red dragon peel, synbiotic set yogurt, lactic acid.

Abstract

Beef rendang is a popular traditional food from West Sumatra which is commonly cooked by using fresh seasoning such as herbs and spices yet not all types of those ingredients are effortlessly available to be found. This issue hinders the local community to cook beef rendang with the original taste of West Sumatra. As a matter of fact, producing dried seasoning to cook rendang could be a possible solution to solve this issue. This study aimed to compare the sensory analysis of beef rendang by using fresh and dried seasoning. This sort of research was a pure experiment with a completely randomized design and 3 repetitions. The ingredients being used are beef, coconut milk, chilies, ginger, galingale, lemongrass, shallots, garlic, lime leaves, bay leaves, turmeric leaves and salt, cooking oil, nutmeg and coriander purchased at traditional markets. The seasoning was sautéed and the coconut milk was poured into the pan, then the beef was added onto the coconut milk with the seasoning until it is half cooked in which the name is Kalio (Like curry, but not become rendang yet), then it was heated up and dried up for hours until the coconut milk dried and turned black which is called rendang. In addition, the data collection technique was carried out by giving a questionnaire to the panelists. The data analysis used was the t-test independent sample t-test using SPSS 15.0 software. The results obtained from the research showed that the average values of the sensory evaluation of the two rendang were almost similar. The average values of beef rendang sensory evaluation using fresh and dried seasoning, respectively, were colour 3.26 and 3.53; aroma 4.0 and 4.13; the texture has the same value, namely 3,4; taste namely 4,6 and 4,46 and the hedonic test 4,33 and 4,20. These results were likely identical as what the statistical test attained (t-test) that there are no significant differences between beef rendang using dried seasoning and fresh seasoning for each sensory testing.

Abstract

Abstract -Electrical energy is energy that is really needed by humans, one way to save electrical energy is to use the thermoelectric method. Thermoelectric materials are materials that can convert heat energy into electrical energy through the Seebeck effect. This research aims to determine the effect of the size of the Active Carbon/Cuo composite material with a high Seebeck coefficient and apply it as a thermoelectric generator. In this study, variations in the size of the mold material were carried out with thickness (0.5 0.8 1 1.3 and 1.5) cm, width (1 1.3 1.6 2.5) and length 5 cm. From the research results, it can be seen that materials with sizes of 0.5 cm and 1 cm have the highest thermal conductivity, namely 0.195 mS.cm-1 and 0.0964 mS.cm-1, the lowest thermal conductivity is 0.06J/s and 0.08J/s, and the highest electrical voltage (Seebeck effect), namely 0.02 mV/K and 0.012 mV/K. Furthermore, applying this material to a generator is capable of producing an electrical voltage of 1.7V at a temperature of 80℃.

Abstract

Thermochemistry, being an abstract subject closely connected to concrete examples, is often perceived as challenging by students. This research aims to evaluate the validity and assess the practicality level of a blended learning approach, structured on inquiry-based methods and facilitated through LMS Moodle, specifically applied to thermochemical material for phase F high school students. This type of research is Educational Design Research (EDR) with the Plomp model. This research product was validated by 5 validators, including three chemistry lecturers at FMIPA UNP and two chemistry teachers at SMAN 1 Lubuk Alung. The research findings indicate that the validity data, assessed using the Aiken's V scale with a score of 0.92, fall into the valid category. The practicality evaluation conducted by the chemistry teacher at SMAN 1 Lubuk achieved a score of 89.3%, which is classified as highly practical. The practicality carried out by nine students of SMAN 1 Lubuk Alung received a score of 87.1% which was categorized as very practical. Based on the results of this research, the structured inquiry-based blended learning system using Moodle LMS on thermochemical material for the F phase of high school can be categorized as valid and very practical.

Abstract

SMA Negeri 1 Lembah Gumanti is one of the schools in Southern Solok Regency that’s actively spurring the development of its school by completing the infrastructure and quality of education for both students and teachers. ICT training especially for teachers to support the quality learning process. One of the uses of this facility is to create interactive LKPD on LiveWorksheets. The purpose of the service activity is to increase the knowledge and skills of chemistry teachers using various learning resources on websites on the internet, increase chemistry teachers' knowledge of the three levels of representation and their interconnections, increase chemistry teachers' knowledge and skills in combining learning resources for making interactive LKPD on the LiveWorksheets web with an emphasis on the three levels of chemical representation. The methods used in this activity are lecture, demonstration and practice. Training participants were asked to present the results of their activities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze ambient air quality in the Padang Industrial Standardization and Services Center (BSPJI) environment with a focus on two main parameters, namely ozone (O3) and ammonia (NH3). O3 is a photochemical oxidant that can cause respiratory problems and eye irritation, while NH3 is a basic gas with a pungent odor that can have negative impacts on health and the environment. Sampling was carried out using the impinger method, while concentration analysis was carried out quantitatively using UV-Vis spectrophotometry with the neutral buffer potassium iodide (NBKI) method for O3 and the indophenol method for NH3. The measurement results showed that the O3 concentration at the two sampling points was 49.070 ug/Nm3 and 28.943 ug/Nm3, respectively, while the NH3 concentration was detected at 3.070 ug/Nm3. These values are below the ambient air quality standard threshold set by Government Regulation No. 41 of 1999 and SNI 19-7119.1-2005, indicating that air quality at the study site is still considered safe and has not been significantly polluted by these two parameters. This study emphasizes the importance of routine monitoring of ambient air quality as a preventive measure in maintaining public health and environmental sustainability. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kualitas udara ambien di lingkungan Balai Standardisasi dan Pelayanan Jasa Industri (BSPJI) Padang dengan fokus pada dua parameter utama, yaitu ozon (O3) dan amonia (NH3). O3 merupakan oksidan fotokimia yang dapat menyebabkan gangguan pernapasan dan iritasi mata, sementara NH3 merupakan gas bersifat basa dengan bau menyengat yang dapat berdampak negatif pada kesehatan dan lingkungan. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan menggunakan metode impinger, sedangkan analisis konsentrasi dilakukan secara kuantitatif menggunakan spektrofotometri UV-Vis dengan metode neutral buffer kalium iodida (NBKI) untuk O3 dan metode indofenol untuk NH3. Hasil pengukuran menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi O3 pada dua titik pengambilan sampel masing-masing sebesar 49,070 ug/Nm3 dan 28,943 ug/Nm3, sementara konsentrasi NH3 terdeteksi sebesar 3,070 ug/Nm3. Nilai-nilai tersebut berada di bawah ambang batas baku mutu udara ambien yang ditetapkan dalam PP No. 41 Tahun 1999 dan SNI 19-7119.1-2005, sehingga kualitas udara di lokasi penelitian masih tergolong aman dan belum tercemar secara signifikan oleh kedua parameter tersebut. Penelitian ini menegaskan pentingnya pemantauan rutin kualitas udara ambien sebagai langkah preventif dalam menjaga kesehatan masyarakat dan keberlanjutan lingkungan.

Abstract

Palm cooking oil is one of the staple foodstuffs whose use cannot be separated from the community. Bulk palm cooking oil is one of the favorites among the public because the price is cheaper when compared to packaged cooking oil. Based on the Indonesian National Standard (SNI 7709:2019), palm cooking oil must have a minimum vitamin A content of 45 IU. This study was conducted with the aim of determining the level of vitamin A contained in bulk palm cooking oil. The analysis was carried out using KCKT with a UV-Vis detector at a wavelength of 328 nm. The test results obtained a standard vitamin A solution showing a retention time of approximately 10 minutes, resulting in a linear regression equation y = 2.7507x + 0.8148 with a correlation coefficient value (r = 0.999), which indicates a very strong linear relationship. Meanwhile, the test results of the sample solution did not produce a peak. This indicates that the vitamin A content in bulk palm cooking oil is below the detection limit or not detected at all. Compared to the quality requirements set by the Indonesian National Standard (SNI), bulk palm cooking oil does not meet the minimum vitamin A standards for palm cooking oil. Therefore, further fortification of bulk cooking oil is necessary to ensure nutritional content meets SNI requirements. AbstrakMinyak goreng kelapa sawit merupakan salah satu bahan pokok pangan yang penggunaannya tidak bisa dilepaskan dari masyarakat. Minyak goreng kelapa sawit curah menjadi salah satu yang digemari oleh masyarakat karena harganya yang lebih murah jika dibandingkan dengan minyak goreng kemasan. Berdasarkan Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI 7709:2019), minyak goreng sawit harus memiliki kadar vitamin A minimal sebesar 45 IU. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui kadar dari vitamin A yang terdapat pada minyak goreng kelapa sawit curah. Analisis dilakukan dengan menggunakan KCKT dengan detektor UV–Vis pada panjang gelombang 328 nm. Hasil pengujian larutan standar vitamin A menunjukkan waktu retensi sekitar 10 menit-an, menghasilkan persamaan regresi linear y = 2,7507x + 0,8148 dengan nilai koefisien korelasi (r = 0,999), yang menunjukkan hubungan linier yang sangat kuat. Sedangkan pada hasil pengujian larutan sampel tidak menghasilkan peak. Hal ini, mengidentifikasi bahwa kadar vitamin A pada minyak goreng kelapa sawit curah berada dibawah batas deteksi atau tidak terdeteksi sama sekali. Dibandingkan dengan syarat mutu yang ditetapkan oleh SNI, minyak goreng sawit curah tidak memenuhi standar minimum dari vitamin A pada minyak goreng sawit. Sehingga diperlukan adanya fortifikasi yang lebih terhadap minyak goreng curah untuk menjamin kandungan gizi yang sesuai dengan SNI

Abstract

Literacy is a crucial 21st-century skill aligned with SDG 4 (Quality Education), yet Indonesian students continue to face challenges, as reflected in PISA 2022 results. Ethnoscience, which integrates local wisdom into science education, offers a promising approach to address this issue. This study presents a systematic literature review of research published between 2014 to 2024 on the use of ethnoscience in science learning and its impact on student literacy. The findings indicate that ethnoscience has been widely applied, particularly at the high school level, through strategies such as project-based learning, inquiry, and STEAM. Ethnoscience contributes to improving scientific, environmental, and cultural literacy by contextualizing science learning and fostering engagement, critical thinking, and cultural awareness. This research synthesizes a decade of empirical evidence on ethnoscience integration in science education, maps the strategies employed, and examines their relationship with students’ literacy outcomes. The results suggest that ethnoscience provides a culturally grounded approach that can effectively support the development of science literacy.
