Abstract

Kesehatan gigi dan mulut telah mengalami peningkatan pada abad terakir tetapi tingginya angka karies menjadi masalah yang sangat serius. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat gambaran pengetahuan mahasiswa tentang karies gigi terhadap indeks DMF-T pada mahasiswa STIKES Yarsi Jurusan Keperawatan.m Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh mahasiswa STIKES Yarsi Jurusan Keperawatan dengan sampel sebanyak 47 orang diambil dengan teknik judgement sampling.mHasil penilitian menunjukkan bahwa 37 orang (78 %) memiliki pengetahuan cukup dan 10 orang (22 %) memiliki pengetahuan baik tentang karies gigi, sedangkan 24 orang (51 %) memiliki indeks DMF-T dengan kriteria jelek dan 23 orang (49 %) memiliki indeks DMF-T dengan kriteria baik. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini yaitu pengetahuan mahasiswa tentang karies gigi dengann kriteria cukup mempunyai indeks DMF-T jelek. Disarankan kepada responden untuk lebih meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang cara menjaga kesehatan gigi dan mulut

Abstract

Dental plaque is a bacterial biofilm structure, neatly organized and attached to the tooth surface, which contains inorganic components such as calcium and phosphorus derived from saliva. Bacteria in plaque that stick to the surface of the teeth will provide a place for new bacteria to grow. Disclosing solution is a plaque coloring agent that works to change the color of dental plaque to contrast with the color of the white tooth surface. Erythrosine is a red coloring agent commonly used for disclosing solutions, but erythrosine is a synthetic dye which is carcinogenic. Anthocyanins are natural dyes that have met the requirements as additional food coloring agents, which are internationally permitted as food coloring agents. This study aims to determine the adhesive power comparison of red dragon fruit peel extract (Hylocereus costaricencis) and mangosteen rind extract (Garcinia mangostana) with a disclosing solution made in manufactured. The research design was an experiment conducted at the Dwi Farma Pharmacy Laboratory in Bukittinggi. The research was conducted in November 2020. This research was conducted on 10 preparations. Analysis of the results of the study used the t test independent with a 95% confidence level and a significance level at α = 0.05. Statistical test results showed that there was a difference in the average length of adhesion between mangosteen rind extract and disclosing solution, between red dragon fruit peel extract and disclosing solution, and between mangosteen rind extract and red dragon fruit peel. A comparison of the duration of adhesion of mangosteen peel extract and red dragon fruit peel extract showed that the average duration of adhesion of mangosteen rind extract was faster than that of red dragon fruit peel extract and factory-made disclosing solution.

Abstract

Background: Unmet needs for family Planning as an indicator of family planning program marketing is still low in West Sumatra, namely 1 and 3 provinces with the lowest coverage. In the city of Padang shows almost the same conditions. Padang City is one of the cities with a high number of unmet needs for family planning. The Municipal Government of Padang created the Kampung KB program as an innovative breakthrough that requires various supports for development. Community empowerment is very necessary for the success of  KB villages.Purpose : This study aims to find the causes of unmet need for family planning and community empowerment to prevent unmet need for family planningMethods: This research is explorative qualitative research, data collection was carried out by means of in-depth interviews. The informants were PUS, family planning cadres, Kelurahan family planning program holders and heads of RT.Results: The results of the study found 5 factors causing family planning not to be fulfilled, namely knowledge, attitudes, access to information, religion and husband's support. The component of prevention efforts is by empowering the community to prevent unmet needs, namely the role of parents in preventing PSP based on the causal factors found, namely community awareness, improving attitudes regarding the importance of family planning programs, capacity building (providing knowledge and facilities), empowerment (making programs and authorization)Conclusion: Factors that cause unmet need for family planning are knowledge, attitudes, access to information, religion and husband's support. Prevention efforts, namely community empowerment, are one of the strategies that can be implemented to prevent unmet need, especially in the KB villages which are the government's priority programs. it caused an area with family planning problems higher.
