Abstract

One of Indonesian micro financial services is Baitul Maal Wat Tamwil (BMT) provides services such as savings, financing and zakat activities. Financing service determine qualifying status based on consideration of customer files before carried out in company discussions. This decision support system aims to provide officers to decide whether or not to admit funding. The research used Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) by finding the prejudiced sum of the performance ratings for each alternative from all criteria. The method used 7 criteria including income, outstanding loans, amount of financing, collateral, nature/environment, track record of financing and monthly expenses. Customers were declared acceptable if they had a preference value above the minimum limit of 16.1. The BMT officer can adjust the minimum limit value according to customer performance. To develop the system used waterfall method and to verify system performance used a black box test which shows the results that the system works according to its function and the validity test results obtained 100% accurate. It means the system is ready and suitable for use. The existence of this decision support system is able to assist officers in making decisions to qualify for financing objectively.

Abstract

The teaching journal recording system is a document of evidence of teaching implementation that can guarantee the quality and quantity of the learning process. Wooi State Middle School, Wonawa District, Yapen Islands Regency, Papua still records teaching journals manually by handwritten. The aim of this research is to develop a teacher assignment journal information system as a solution to the problems experienced by Wooi State Middle School in the form of scattered journal summaries. This system development uses prototyping and implementation using HTML, PHP, CSS, Javascript, MySQL, and the CodeIgniter Framework. Research has produced a journal information system that provides website-based journal recording and recording features. The research used the Blackbox testing method to test all available features, and this method stated that everything worked well. The system also passed testing using the System Usability Scale (SUS) method which resulted in a score of 74.62, which means it is acceptable.

Abstract

Sign Language Recognition (SLR) has become an essential area of research due to its potential to promote understanding between the deaf and hearing communities through communication. This paper provides an in-depth study of various methodologies and models employed in SLR, focusing on Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN). We analyze their application to datasets from various sign languages, such as Arabic Sign Language (ArSL), American Sign Language (ASL), and British Sign Language (BSL), and explore how these models improve the recognition of dynamic, multi-dimensional hand gestures. This research not only advances the understanding of deep learning applications in sign language recognition but also addresses critical challenges in data processing and real-time applications, paving the way for inclusive technologies in informatics and human-computer interaction. Despite the progress in applying deep learning techniques to SLR, several challenges remain, particularly in dataset limitations, handling large vocabularies, and ensuring consistent performance across diverse environments and signers. The paper also investigates the broader applications of SLR, such as virtual reality, healthcare, education, and accessibility, and discusses the integration of SLR with human-computer interaction systems. Furthermore, it highlights current limitations in the field, such as difficulties with video data handling, the need for standard datasets, and issues related to training computational models. Finally, the paper outlines future research directions, including developing more robust SLR systems that can function effectively in uncontrolled environments, improving data collection methodologies, and creating real-time, user-friendly applications to assist the community of deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals.

Abstract

Salah satu bencana alam yang sering melanda Indonesia setiap tahunnya adalah banjir. Bencana ini dapat menyebabkan korban jiwa, kerusakan bangunan, kegagalan panen, dan kerugian materi yang besar. Kabupaten karanganyar terletak di antara Gunung Lawu yang berada di sebelah timur dan Sungai Bengawan Solo di sebelah baratnya. Penelitian dan pengabdian ini mengindentifikasi daerah rawan banjir di Kabupaten Karanganyar menggunakan pendekatan geospasial untuk menentukan wilayah yang berpotensi mengalami bencana banjir. Sistem yang dihasilkan memberikan alternatif metode edukasi dan meningkatkan kewaspadaan masyarakat Kabupaten Karanganyar terhadap potensi bencana banjir di wilayahnya. Pengembangan sistem menggunakan HTML, CSS, JavaScript, dan framework Laravel sebagai frontend serta MySQL sebagai backend. Metode waterfall telah diterapkan dalam pengembangan yang dimulai dari analisis kebutuhan sampai dengan pemeliharaan. Hasil penelitian ini adalah sebuah sistem informasi geografis yang menyampaikan dan menampilkan data dalam bentuk koordinat dan lokasi terkait pemetaan daerah rawan banjir di Kabupaten Karanganyar. Kegiatan edukasi melibatkan 30 responden untuk mengevaluasi sistem menggunakan metode System Usability Scale, yang memberikan nilai 73,33 dan berkategori bagus sekali.

Abstract

Motorcycle theft remains a prevalent issue, especially in urban areas, where traditional security measures such as mechanical locks and ignition keys are easily bypassed. This research presents an IoT-based motorcycle security system integrating Arduino, Bluetooth communication, and an Android application to enhance theft prevention. The system employs an Arduino Uno microcontroller, HC-05 Bluetooth module, and SW-420 vibration sensor to detect unauthorized access and trigger security mechanisms. Users can remotely monitor and control their motorcycles via an Android application, which allows engine immobilization and alarm activation functions. The system was tested for hardware performance, Bluetooth connectivity, and software reliability. Results indicate that Bluetooth communication remains stable within a 10-meter range, the vibration sensor effectively detects unauthorized movements, and real-time commands between the application and Arduino execute with minimal latency. Cost analysis suggests that the system, with a total hardware cost of Rp 223,000, is an affordable and effective solution for motorcycle security. Despite some range limitations, the study demonstrates the feasibility of IoT-based security enhancements. Future improvements include GPS tracking and GSM communication for extended monitoring. This research contributes to developing innovative, cost-effective, and user-friendly vehicle security solutions.

Abstract

This community service project aimed to assist Toko Dymas Kulit, a home-based leather crafting business in Magetan, East Java, by developing and implementing a web-based inventory management system to replace its manual tracking process. The new system, built using PHP with the CodeIgniter framework and MySQL, was designed to improve the accuracy and efficiency of inventory management by automating tasks such as tracking stock movement and generating real-time reports. As a result, the store saw a reduction of over 50% in the time spent on inventory checks, allowing staff to focus on other essential business activities. User satisfaction was high, with a System Usability Scale (SUS) score of 73.3, reflecting the system's ease of use. This initiative not only solved operational challenges for Toko Dymas Kulit but also empowered its employees with new skills, offering a valuable model for other small businesses in the community to improve their operations through technology.

Abstract

Hajj is a fundamental pillar of Islam that requires pilgrims to perform a series of complex rituals with precision and understanding. However, many prospective pilgrims struggle to retain and apply the necessary knowledge using traditional lecture-based instruction alone. With the rise of digital tools, mobile applications have emerged as a promising supplement to enhance religious education. This study investigates the effectiveness of two Android-based applications—Haji Pintar and Kawal Haji—in improving Hajj pilgrims' comprehension, retention, and confidence. Employing a quasi-experimental design, 133 participants were divided into a control and experimental group, with the latter incorporating mobile-assisted learning. Pre- and posttest assessments, along with surveys and semi-structured interviews, were conducted to evaluate outcomes. Results revealed that the experimental group showed significantly higher knowledge retention and confidence compared to the control group. Qualitative findings further highlighted how features such as video tutorials and interactive guides enhanced learners' emotional preparedness and engagement. This research makes a unique contribution to the literature by providing empirical evidence of the impact of mobile learning in religious contexts, utilizing mixed methods to measure comprehension outcomes. The findings offer practical implications for developing inclusive digital Hajj training, particularly for elderly users, and call for collaboration with religious institutions in designing structured, mobile-based curricula. Theoretically, the study reinforces the relevance of technology-assisted, self-paced models in Islamic education.

Abstract

State Senior High School 7 Surakarta is one of the public schools located in Surakarta City. The library activities, including member data management, book processing, and book borrowing and returning, are still conducted manually using physical logbooks. This manual process is considered inefficient and prone to errors. The purpose of this study is to develop a book borrowing system at State Senior High School 7 Surakarta that serves as a tool to assist officers in recording, loans, and returning books. This system is designed using the CodeIgniter framework to support WEB displays, programming in PHP, and using MySQL for database management. This system is created using the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) method with a waterfall model that includes the stages of analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. System testing was conducted using Black-Box Testing and the System Usability Scale (SUS). The Black-Box Testing results showed that all features and functions operated correctly. The SUS evaluation produced a score of 75.68%, indicating that users generally agreed with the implementation of the system, which falls under the "acceptable" classification.

Abstract

Communication is fundamental to human interaction, yet individuals who are deaf or speech-impaired often face barriers due to limited accessibility to sign language resources. This study presents the development of a mobile sign language dictionary designed to enhance communication and learning. Traditional sign language dictionaries, whether in printed or video formats, present challenges in accessibility, usability, and portability. In contrast, a mobile application offers an interactive, efficient, and user-friendly solution. The proposed application integrates gesture recognition, video demonstrations, and text-based explanations to facilitate sign language learning. By leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud-based storage, the app ensures accurate sign recognition and provides a comprehensive database of gestures, including letters, numbers, root words, prefixes, suffixes, and commonly used phrases. A structured methodology involving requirement analysis, data collection, design, development, testing, and revision was applied to develop a functional and accessible tool. User testing demonstrated high engagement and learning effectiveness, with 85% of participants reporting increased comfort with mobile learning tools, 82.5% finding the app beneficial for sign language acquisition, and 90% improving their familiarity with sign words. These results confirm that a mobile sign language dictionary is an efficient educational tool that fosters inclusivity and communication accessibility. Future enhancements, including database expansion, additional sign language dialects, and interactive exercises, can further improve the application’s impact.

Abstract

Students with intellectual disabilities often face challenges in physical education due to limited motor coordination, reduced engagement, and difficulties following traditional instructional methods. To address this, motion-sensing technology, particularly Kinect-based educational games, presents a promising solution by offering interactive and gamified learning experiences. This study explores the development and implementation of a Kinect-based educational game designed to enhance motor skills and engagement in students with intellectual disabilities. The game focuses on throwing exercises, providing real-time feedback through visual and auditory cues to reinforce learning. The study was conducted at SLB-C YPSLB Surakarta, involving 20 students with intellectual disabilities and five special education teachers. A pre-test and post-test evaluation was used to assess students' motor skill improvement and engagement levels before and after using the game. The results demonstrated a 26.3% increase in throwing accuracy, a 26.9% rise in engagement levels, and a significant reduction in reaction time, indicating the game's effectiveness in enhancing physical coordination and participation. Teacher feedback highlighted the game's usability, ability to maintain student focus, and alignment with PE learning objectives. Although the findings showed positive learning outcomes, several challenges, such as the initial adaptation period and the need for a wider variety of games, were identified. Future research should focus on customizing difficulty levels, varying physical activities, and AI-powered adaptive learning to meet the needs of individual students. This study highlights the potential of motion-sensing educational games as an effective tool for inclusive and engaging physical education for students with intellectual disabilities.
