Abstract

Students’ beliefs toward conspiracy theory (CT) of COVID-19 can be the indication of science education quality. However, a validated instrument to measure the level of students’ acceptance on the CT about COVID-19 still remains unexplored. This study aimed to evaluate the questionnaire of CT about COVID-19. The questionnaire consisted of 14 items and delivered online to the 400 students of Biology education in Indonesia. The data was analyzed using exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). All items have standard deviation between 1.60 and 2.63, but one item was revealed to have insignificant correlation. The EFA result indicated that the other 13 items had loading factor 0.5 and were categorized into three dimensions. The third dimension was eliminated after the administration of CFA due to only one item in the dimension (λ>0.5). There were three items in the first dimension and two items in the second dimension resulted in λ<0.5. The correlated model from CFA disclosed good values of goodness of fit (GOF), χ2/df=2.527, root mean square error of approximation (RMSEA) standardized root mean square residual (SRMR)=0.014, comparative fit index (CFI)=0.964, goodness-of-fit index (GFI)=0.969, adjusted goodness of fit (AGFI)=0.940, Tucker-Lewis index (TLI)=0.947, and normed fit index (NFI)=0.943. Therefore, the questionnaire is strongly recommended to measure the level of students’ beliefs toward the CT of COVID-19.

Abstract

This study contributes to the understanding of how digital information literacy (DIL) supports e-learning implementation in under-resourced higher education contexts. This study used a quatitative approach and ex post facto research. Data analysis in this study used descriptive methods (quantitative). The subjects of this study were 56 lecturers and 300 students of Biology Education programs from various universities in West Nusa Tenggara. Data were collected using questionnaires (sig. 0.00-0.04 and Cronbach Alpha=0.743) and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the level of implementation of DIL in universities in NTB has been moderately high, through three process: planning, implementation, and evaluation of learning. The majority of lecturers in NTB (82%) have a high level of DIL, with significant advantages in the aspects of understanding the purpose and meaning of information and the ability to evaluate information. On the other hand, students also have a fairly high level of DIL (68%), but the rest are still at moderate and low levels. Strengthening DIL, especially for students, still needs better attention, through optimal support from lecturers and universities. By improving overall digital information literacy, universities in NTB can be more prepared and effective in facing the challenges of digitalization of education in the Society 5.0 era.

Abstract

Liquid organic fertilizer (POC) is a type of liquid fertilizer derived from organic materials that is easily absorbed by plants, thereby increasing soil fertility while also serving as an environmentally friendly solution to reduce dependence on chemical fertilizers. Training activities on processing POC from vegetable waste in Sasake Village were carried out using the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) method through the stages of counseling, practice, mentoring, and evaluation involving pre-tests, post-tests, and fermentation observations. The results of the activity showed an increase in the community’s knowledge and skills in converting vegetable waste into nutrient-rich, environmentally friendly POC that can be applied in agriculture. The three-week fermentation process demonstrated microbial development, indicating that it was running optimally. This training not only succeeded in reducing organic waste problems but also supported community independence, sustainable agriculture, and environmental conservation.

Abstract

Kualitas pendidikan Al-Quran di madrasah dan pesantren masih menghadapi tantangan signifikan, terutama disparitas kemampuan siswa dalam memahami makna ayat. Program pengabdian ini dimaksudkan untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut melalui TOT (Training of Trainer) Quran Smart Learning bagi guru madrasah dan pesantren. TOT difokuskan pada penguasaan QSL Level 1 (leksikon), Level 2 (morfologi), dan Level 3 (sintaksis), melalui metode ceramah, praktik langsung, diskusi kelompok, dan refleksi. Hasil evaluasi pre-test dan post-test menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan kompetensi guru, termasuk kemampuan mengelola pembelajaran interaktif, memahami struktur bahasa Arab, serta kesiapan menjadi fasilitator di lembaga masing-masing. Observasi praktik dan interaksi selama pelatihan menegaskan motivasi tinggi peserta untuk menerapkan metode QSL. Meskipun aplikasi digital QSL masih dalam pengembangan dan belum diterapkan, TOT ini membangun fondasi kuat bagi implementasi blended learning di masa depan. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa TOT Quran Smart Learning efektif dalam memperkuat kompetensi guru dan meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan Al-Quran secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

The Task-Based Learning (TBL) instructional model refers to an approach that emphasizes the presentation of structured tasks progressively, aiming to train students' problem-solving skills from simple to more complex problems. This study applied a quantitative approach using descriptive methods and an ex post facto research design. The research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of implementing the TBL learning model in enhancing students' understanding of concepts and statistical analysis skills. Participants in this study were students taking Statistics in the third semester of the Biology Education program at the State Islamic University of Mataram during the 2022/2023 academic year. The research instruments included a statistical data concept test and statistical analysis practice. Data analysis was conducted descriptively by comparing the mean scores of students' conceptual tests and analysis practices over 11 meetings. The research findings indicate that students' understanding of statistical concepts fluctuates in line with the complexity of the assigned tasks. Additionally, students' statistical analysis skills vary with the difficulty level of the tasks, but a positive trend in students' performance improvement is observed over time.
