Abstract

ABSTRACT. Penelitian bertujuan mengkaji pengaruh interaksi taraf suplementasi ekstrak etanol daun waru (Hibiscus tiliaceus) dan rasio jerami padi amoniasi dan konsentrat terhadap efisiensi metabolisme rumen dan total protozoa rumen secara in vitro. Penelitian eksperimental menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok pola faktorial 3 x 3. Faktor pertama adalah imbangan bahan kering (BK), jerami padi amoniasi (JPA) dan konsentrat yaitu 45:55 (R1), 55:45 (R2), dan 65:35 (R3). Faktor kedua adalah taraf suplementasi ekstrak etanol daun waru yaitu 0 ppm (E0), 200 ppm (E1), dan 400 ppm (E2). Variabel yang diamati adalah total protozoa dan produk fermentasi rumen yaitu sintesis protein mikroba (SPM), volatile fatty acids (VFA), N-NH3, gas metan, rasio Asetat/Propionat (A/P), dan efisiensi konversi glukosa menjadi VFA (EVFA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat interaksi (P0,05) antara rasio JAP: konsentrat dan taraf ekstrak etanol daun waru terhadap N-NH3, total VFA, asam asetat, asam propionat, asam butirat, rasio A/P, dan (EVFA). Rasio JAP: konsentrat R2 menghasilkan EVFA dan SPM lebih tinggi (P0,05) jika dibandingkan dengan R1 dan R3, akan tetapi metan dan protozoa lebih rendah (P0,05). Suplementasi ekstrak etanol daun waru sampai 400 ppm meningkatkan secara liner (P0,05) EVFA, SPM, dan propionate, akan tetapi menurunkan rasio A/P, gas metan, total protozoa, dan asetat. Suplementasi ekstrak etanol daun waru pada taraf 400 ppm dan rasio JAP: konsentrat 55:45% BK dapat meningkatkan efisiensi metabolisme rumen.(Rumen metabolism efficiency of rice straw ammoniation and concentrate based diet supplemented with Hibiscus tiliaceus leaf extract in vitro) ABSTRAK. The aim of this study was to examine the effect of the interaction between the level of supplementation of ethanolic extracts of waru leaves (Hibiscus tiliaceus) and the ratio of ammoniated rice straw and concentrate on rumen metabolism efficiency and total rumen protozoa in vitro. The research was carried out experimentally designed using a 3 x 3 factorial randomized block design. The first factor was the dry matter (DM) ratio of ammoniated rice straw (ARS) and the concentrates were 45:55 (R1), 55:45 (R2), and 65:35 (R3). The second factor was the supplementation level of ethanolic extracts of waru leaves of 0, 200, and 400 ppm for E0, E1, and E2, respectively. The variables measured were total protozoa and rumen fermentation products, namely microbial protein synthesis (MSP), volatile fatty acids (VFA), N-NH3, methane gas, acetate/propionate (A/P) ratio, and efficiency of glucose conversion to VFA (EVFA). The results showed that there was no interaction (P 0.05) between the ratio of ARS:concentrate and the ethanol extract level of waru leaves on N-NH3, total VFA, acetic acid, propionic acid, butyric acid, A/P ratio, and (EVFA). The ratio of ARS: concentrate on R2 resulted in higher EVFA and SPM (P0.05) compared to R1 and R3, but lower methane and protozoa (P0.05). Supplementation of waru leaf ethanol extract up to 400 ppm increased linearly (P0.05) EVFA, SPM, and propionate, but decreased A/P ratio, methane gas, total protozoa, and acetate. Supplementation of the ethanolic extracts of waru leaves at the level of 400 ppm and the ratio of ARS:concentrate is 55: 45% increase the efficiency of rumen metabolism.

Abstract

ABSTRAK. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui interaksi antara penambahan tepung daun waru (Hibiscus tiliaceus) (TDW) dan imbangan bahan kering (BK) jerami padi amoniasi (JPA) dan konsentrat terhadap konsumsi BK, kecernaan bahan organik (KBO) dan performan sapi Sumba Ongole (SO). Sebanyak 18 ekor sapi SO jantan dengan bobot awal 218,67 Kg 17,62. Pola faktorial 2 x 3 yang dirancang menurut Rancangan Acak Lengkap . Faktor pertama adalah imbangan BK JPA dan konsentrat masing-masing 35 : 65 (I1) dan 30 : 70 (I2). Konsentrat disuplementasi dengan TDW dengan level (ppm) 0% (W1), 0,24% (W2), dan 0,48% (W3)sebagai faktor kedua. Konsumsi BK tiap sapi adalah 3,3% dari bobot hidup. Penambahan tepung daun Waru (Hibiscus tiliaceus) dan imbangan BK JPA dan konsentrat maupun interaksinya tidak berpengaruh nyata (P0,05) terhadap konsumsi BK, KBO, performan sapi SO. KBO cenderung tinggi pada I1W2 dan performa cenderung baik level W3 baik pada I1 (1.27 kg 0.28 dan`17.21% 0.11) maupun I2 (1.26 kg 0.08 dan 19.87% 0.03). Penambahan tepung daun waru pada konsentrat tidak direkomendasikan untuk memperbaiki KBO maupun performan sapi SO.(Performances of sumba ongole cattle fed ammoniated rice straw and concentrate supplemented with waru leaf meal (Hibiscus tiliaceus))ABSTRACT. The aim of this research was to find the interaction between supplementation of Hibiscus tilliaceus leaf meal (HLM) and dry matter (DM) ratio of ammoniated rice straw (ARC) and concentrate on DM intake (DMI), organic matter digestibility (OMD) and Sumba Ongole (SO) cattle performances. Eighteen of SO male cattle with the average of 21.67 Kg 17.62 early body weight were used in this research. Completely Randomized Design with factorial pattern which consists of two factors (2 x 3) was applied. Those factors were DM ratio of ARC and concentrates of 35: 65 (I1) and 30: 70 (I2); and the concentrates that supplemented with HLM level (ppm) of 0% (W1), 0.24% (W2), and 0.48% (W3). DMI of each cattle was 3.3% of body weigh. HLM supplementation and ARC and concentrates DM ratio as well as their interaction were not significantly effected (P 0.05) on OMD, and SO cattle performances. OMD tended to increase at I1W2 and performances tended to be better at W3 both I1 (1.27 kg 0.28 and 17.21% 0.11) and I2 (1.26 kg 0.08 dan 19.87% 0.03). HLB supplementation could not be recommended to improve OMD and SO cattle performances.

Abstract

(Protein concentrate substitution using feather meal processed by physico-chemistry and fermentatio)ABSTRACT. The objective of this research was to evaluate the effect of protein concentrate substitution using processed feather meal in growing layer-ration. Chicken feather meal was processed by physico-chemical techniques viz.soaking in 0.5% (b/v) NaOH and Na2S at 60C and continued by fermentation using Bacillus sp. MTS. The method was experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design with five treatments that replicated for four times. The treatments tested was level of concentrate substitution i.e. 0, 4, 8, 12 and 16%. Protein concentrate substitution had no significantly effect (P 0.05) on growth, feed consumption and convertion of growing layer. Keratin meal from chicken feather can be applied in growing layer-ration 16% respectively or substitute the protein concentrate as much as 53%.

Abstract

(Feeding behavior of local cattle fed based ammoniation rice straw with different feeding method)ABSTRACT. The objective of this study was to determine the effect of feeding methods on feeding behavior include the frequency and duration of eating time, the frequency and the duration of rumination for one day, night and daytime. The study used twenty of local cattle feeder males (Peranakan Ongole) with an age range of 1.5 2 years old and initial weight were 200-273 kg. They were fed randomly with four feeding methods of top concentrate, component feeding, total mixed ration (TMR) and free choice. Thus, completely randomized design was used for this study. Data length of eating and rumination time was analyzed using analysis of variance and continuities by honestly significant difference test (HSD). The frequency of eating and rumination were analyzed using Chi square. The results showed that the treatments affect significantly (P 0.05) on spent of eating night; rumination daytime and night spent, but had no effect (P0,05) on spent of eating one day, spent of eating daytime and spent of rumination for one day. Rumination frequency one day, daytime, and night were not affected (P 0.05) by feeding method. Night rumination of feeder cattle groups fed with TMR method were longer ( P 0.05 ) compared to feeder cattle groups fed with Component Feeding and Free Choice method, but it was similar ( P 0.05 ) to feeder cattle groups fed with Top Concentrate. Between the groups feeder cattle fed with Component feeding and Free Choice were not significantly different ( P 0.05 ).

Abstract

Improving of rice straw quality and its effect on ability nutrient digestibility and rumenmetabolism products of buffalo in-vitro with feces as inoculum sourceABSTRACT. This study was aimed to determine the effect of feeding ammoniated rice straw plus concentrate on buffalo nutrient digestibility and rumen fermentation products by in vitro.The Research was carried out by using experimental method, designed according to completely randomized design (CRD).The source of inoculum was obtain from different feces of three buffalos kept in Datar Village of Purwokerto region fed rice straw, rice straw plus concentrate and rice straw ammoniated plus concentrate with dry matter ratio of 80 : 20.The treatments tested consisted of three treatments, namely R0 = control feed using rice straw; R1 = the use of rice straw plus concentrate with a ratio of (DM basis) 80:20; R2 = the use of ammoniated rice straw plus concentrate with a ratio of (DM basis) 80:20. The treatments were repeated 7 times, so there were 21 experimental units.The Variables measured included total VFA, Ratio A/P, N-NH3, Microbial Protein Synthesis (MPS), Dry Matter and Organic Matter Digestibility. The result of this study showed that the treatment had an effect significant (P0.05) on the concentration of VFA, Ratio A/P, N-NH3, Microbial Protein Synthesis (MPS), and Dry Matter and Organic Matter Digestibility. The HSD test showed that the highest production of VFA,Ratio A/P, N-NH3, Microbial Protein Synthesis (MPS), Dry Matter and Organic Matter Digestibility were achieved at R2 followed by R1 and R0 respectively. The conclusion is that the ammoniated rice straw supplemented with concentrate can be recommended to be fed to buffalo

Abstract

Supplementation of molasses to improve the quality of rice straw ammonization and its effect on fermentation product in-vitroABSTRACT. Aimed of this research was to find out the optimal level of molasses addition at straw rice ammonization process to N-NH3 production, VFA and microbe protein synthesis. Material used was rumen fluid of fistula cattle, rice straw, water, urea and molasses. Treatment tried was level of molasses addition 0%, 15% and 30% on rice straw which given urea. Research was carried out by experimental method as in vitro, was conducted use completely randomized design. Variable measured were N-NH3, VFA and microbe protein synthesis. Intake data entered in data tabulation and analyzed variance then continued by orthogonal polynomial test. Research result after ammonization indicated that acidity level and concentration of released NH3 decrease parallel with addition of molasses level, and also increase the nutrient content which was crude protein increase and crude fiber decrease. Variance analysis and Test of orthogonal polynomial result indicated that treatment of molasses addition have highly significant effect (P0.01) and linier respond to concentration of released NH3 after ammonization. Research result as in vitro indicated concentration N-NH3 and VFA total decrease while microbe protein synthesis increase. Variance analysis result indicated that molasses addition treatment at straw rice ammonization process have highly significant (P 0.01) on concentration of N-NH3, VFA total and Microbe Protein Synthesis. Test of orthogonal polynomial for molasses addition at straw rice ammonization process indicated linier respond on concentration of NH3 N-NH3 and VFA total, but microbe protein synthesis quadratic had respond (P 0,01) white regression equation Y= 52.187-1.089222X + 0.11X2 (r2) 87.27 and (r) 0.9341. Research result could conclude that molasses addition up to level 30% able to improve quality of straw rice ammonization process by NH3 fixation so that increase nutrient ingredient, decrease NH3 that lost to atmosphere, improve utilization of N-NH3 and VFA and also increase microbe protein synthesis.

Abstract

The effect of molasses on ammoniated straw by using urea on dry and organic matter digestibility as in vitroABSTRACT. Aimed of this research was to find out the optimal level of molasses addition to improve quality, dry matter and organic matter digestibility of rice straw ammonization process. Materials used were rumen fluid of fistula cattle, grind of rice straw, water, urea and molasses. Research designed used Completely Randomized Design (CRD). As treatments were R0: rice straw 1000 g dry matter + 500 g water + 50 g urea + 0 percent of molasses, R1: R0 + 15 percent of molasses, R2: R0 + 30 percent of molasses. Urea and molasses dissolved in water and then entered into pollybag. All pollybag observe and let for 15 days, each treatment replicated 6 times. Variable measured were dry matter digestibility and organic matter digestibility. Research result showed that ammonization product of NH3, Acidity Level and crude fiber having decreased while crude protein content increased. Variance analysis indicated that treatments had significant effect (P0.05) on dry matter and organic matter digestibility. Orthogonal polynomial test indicated that level of molasses increase (P0.05) of dry matter and organic matter digestibility linearly. It can be concluded that addition up to 30 percent in ammoniating of rice straw using urea can improve quality of ammonization and increasing dry matter and organic matter digestibility.

Abstract

Products of rumen fermentation and protein microbial of dairy cattle feed with rice bran ammonization and some feedstuffs as an energy sourcesABSTRACT. This study aims to examine the energy sources of feed ingredients that can increase the production of Volatile Fatty Acids (VFA), N-NH3, microbial protein synthesis, total gas production and metabolic energy. The material used is as a source of rumen fluid inoculum from Frisian Holstein cows (FH) females, amoniasi rice straw, salt, mineral mix brand "Ultra Minerals' production Eka Farma Semarang, onggok wet and dry, corn, and rice bran. Observed variable is the concentration of (VFA), N-NH3, rumen microbial protein synthesis, and total gas production. Based on the analysis of diversity seen any significant effect (P0.05) on total VFA concentration, N-NH3 and total gas but had no effect (P0.05) on microbial protein synthesis. Conclusion of research is the provision of energy sources with rice bran treatment, onggok wet and dry corn flour can be used as fermentable carbohydrates on feed hay amoniasi in vitro.

Abstract

Program ketahanan pangan yang direncanakan pemerintah untuk dapat di realisasikan oleh seluruh sektor termasuk didalamnya peternakan. Sebagian usaha peternakan sapi dan domba di tingkat masyarakat dijalankan dalam bentuk kelompok ternak. Kelembagaan yang kuat diperlukan agar kelompok ternak terus dapat bertahan dalam waktu yang lama. Pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk memperkuat kelembagaan mitra dan meningkatkan pemasaran produk yang dihasilkan melalui penerapan teknologi digital. Sasaran kegiatan ini adalah kelompok ternak domba yang terintegrasi dengan sayuran di Kawasan dataran tinggi di Desa Penusupan, Kecamatan Pejawaran Kabupaten Banjarnegara. Korporasi puncak Dompiland beranggotakan 20 orang. Pengabdian dilaksanakan dengan pendampingan pada aspek kelembagaan, peningkatan kualitas produk dan pemasaran produk. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat adalah (1) kegiatan Focus Group Discussion (FGD) tata kelola dan penguatan kelembagaan korporasi, (2) pelatihan produksi pakan silase dan pupuk organik terstandarisasi yang selanjutnya akan dipasarkan secara digital melalui sosial media dan e-commerce. Hasil yang diperoleh yaitu kelompok berhasil meningkatkan kualitas pengelolaan kelembagaannya dengan menghasilkan dokumen kelembagaan. Korporasi berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan dan berhasil memproduksi produk pertanian berkelanjutan dengan spesifikasi tertentu. Korporasi perlu untuk meningkatkan kualitas produk yang dihasilkannya melalui berbagai inovasi secara kontinyu. Pada aspek pemasaran koorporasi berhasil meningkatkan kemasan dan jaringan pemasarannya.

Abstract

Background. Research "Supplementation of RDP (Rumen Degradable Protein) and UDP (Undegradable Protein) in Sheep Ration on In Vitro Degradation of Dry Matter and Organic Matter in Rumen". This study aims was determine the effect of RDP and UDP supplementation in sheep rations on dry matter degradation and in vitro organic matter degradation. Materials and methods The research material used were the rumen fluid of 3 sheep as a source of inoculum, treatment rations supplemented with RDP (urea-zeolite) and UDP (soybean meal protected by condensation tannins). The in vitro research method used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 5 replications. The treatments tested were R1 = basal ration (30% elephant grass silage, 70% concentrate) + 1% RDP and 1% UDP; R2 = basal ration + RDP 1% and UDP 2% ; R3 = basal ration + RDP 1% and UDP 3% ; R4 = basal ration + RDP 2% and UDP 1% ; R5 = basal ration + RDP 3% and UDP 1%. The variables measured were dry matter degradation and organic matter degradation at 48 hours incubation. Results. The results showed that supplementation of RDP and UDP in sheep rations had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the value of dry matter and organic matter degradation. Conclusion. It can be concluded that the administration of RDP and UDP supplementation in sheep rations in vitro did not interfere with rumen microbial activity
