Abstract

Artemia sp. is a natural food with high protein content, especially amino acid. Nowadays, Indonesia still relies on import for its supply. Hence, the utilization of local Artemia sp. as an alternative to the imported product is recommended as it contains more protein and less expensive. The advantages of local Artemia sp. is its better crystal quality as it is still fresh. It also provides better income for salt farmers because waste water from salt farm can be used to culture Artemia sp.. This research is aimed at determining the quality of locally-produced Artemia sp., by evaluation of its essential amino acid and fatty acid profiles after treatments. Our results indicated that Artemia sp. cysts with good quality were produced after 8 hours and Artemia sp. reaches a hatching rate of 1,320,000 cysts (95%) after 27 hours. We also found an indication that the best feed concentration was a mix of 60% Chaetoceros calcitrans with 40% Skeletonema costatum. Fatty acid profile analyses showed that the highest SAFA (12.86%) and PUFA (29.91%) were gained after feeding with Chaetoceros calcitrans, whereas the highest HUFA (4.93%) was gained after feeding with Skeletonemacostatum. Essential amino acid profile analyses revealed the highest content of amino acid (18912.62 ppm) was after feeding with a combination of Chaetoceros calcitrans and Skeletonema costatum.  Finally, the proper water quality during research was at 25-30 oC of temperature, 30-31 ppt of salinity, pH 7.8-8.9, and DO was at 3.0-4.4 mg/L.

Abstract

This study used an experimental method with Completely Randomized Design4 treatment 3 replication The results showed that the giving of various types of feed gave significant effect (P <0,05) to EPP and RGR but not significant (P> 0,05) to PER and survival rate. The feed that can increase EPP and RGR is the silk worm and snail. The feed of silk worm and snail can produce EPP of 7.33% and 5.75% while RGR value is 2.24% / day and 1.73% / day. The feed that can increase PER is a silk worm capable of generating PER of 0.23%. Water quality in maintenance media is in the appropriate range for the growth of rice eel (M. albus). Based on the results of research can be concluded that the feed that can increase eel growth is by giving the silk worm.

Abstract

Nutrisi dalam pakan merupakan faktor utama yang diperlukan dalam pertumbuhan dan meningkatkan tingkat kelulushidupan. Transfer nutrisi diperlukan untuk menemukan kandungan nutrisi yang paling banyak diserap dan dimanfaatkan untuk pertumbuhan larva udang, kemudian kebutuhan energy ditemukan melalui proses penyerapan nutrisi dalam Artemia sp. pada larva udang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini, yaitu menemukatan transfer nutrisi melalui profil asam lemak serta profil asam amino essensial dan menemukan kebutuhan energy total dalam penyerapan pakan Artemia sp. pada larva udang vanname stadia PL1-PL10. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimental dengan 3 perlakuan dan analisa data yang dilakukan secara deskriptif berdasarkan hasil analisis profil asam lemak dan profil asam amino essensial. Hasil yang didapatkan  transfer asam lemak lemak jenuh tertinggi pada larva udang dengan pemberian pakan Artemia sp. produk lokal, yaitu asam lemak palmitat dan transfer asam lemak tak jenuh tertinggi pada larva udang dengan pemberian pakan Artemia sp. produk impor, yaitu 6,44%. Transfer asam amino essensial total tertinggi pada larva udang dengan pemberian pakan Artemia sp. produk lokal dengan nilai transfer 0,61 ppm. Hasil perhitungan energi total pada larva udang vanname stadia PL 5 dan PL 10 dengan pemberian pakan Artemia sp. produk lokal adalah 2,95 kkal/g dan 3,35 kkal/g; kemudian untuk energi total pada larva udang stadia PL 5 dan PL 10 dengan pemberian pakan Artemia sp. impor adalah 2,76 kkal/gr dan 3,20 kkal/gr.

Abstract

 Catfish (Pangasius sp.) Is one of the most cultivated freshwater fish, because it is one of the fish that has a high economic value. However, the use of phytopharmaca is used to improve feed efficiency and fish growth. One of the phytopharmaca which can be used as an antimicrobial is temulawak (Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb). This study aims to determine the optimal dose of the effect of temulawak extract on artificial feed in increasing feed consumption, efficiency of feed utilization, and growth rate of catfish (Pangasius sp.). The test fish is maintained with a stocking density of 1 tail / l with a maintenance time of 42 days. This study used an experimental method with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments in this study were Treatment A (addition of 0 ml ginger extract), B (addition of 6 ml temulawak extract), C (addition of 12 ml curcuma extract), and D (addition of 18 ml ginger extract). The data observed included absolute weight, crime scene, EPP, SGR, REP, SR and water quality. The results showed that the addition of temulawak extract to artificial feed had a very significant effect on absolute weights, crime scenes, EPP, SGR, REP but did not differ significantly for survival. The optimum dose of addition of curcuma extract to total feed consumption is 11 ml capable of producing a maximum crime scene of 168.1 g, efficiency of feed utilization is 10.5 ml capable of producing a maximum EPP of 70.3% and specific growth rate is 10.8 ml resulting in maximum SGR 2.46% / day

Abstract

Tubifex sp. merupakan salah satu pakan alami yang sering digunakan sebagai pakan. Dugaan masalah muncul karena pada saat ini Tubifex sp. mulai sulit didapatkan di alam. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan kultur terhadap Tubifex sp., sehingga baik secara kuantitas maupun kualitas dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pakan oleh larva ikan lele. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah mengetahui pengaruh dan hasil kultur terbaik terhadap pertumbuhan dan kelulushidupan larva ikan lele. Hewan uji yang digunakan adalah larva ikan lele dengan berat 0,06±0,00 g/individu. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode eksperimental menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 3 kali ulangan yaitu perlakuan A (1,2 g/l kotoran ayam dan 1,2 g/l bekatul), B (1,2 g/l kotoran ayam; 0,9 g/l roti afkir dan 0,3 g/l bungkil kelapa), C (1,2 g/l kotoran ayam; 0,6 g/l roti afkir dan 0,6 g/l bungkil kelapa), D (1,2 g/l kotoran ayam; 0,3 g/l roti afkir dan 0,9 g/l bungkil kelapa), E (1,2 g/l kotoran ayam dan 1,2 g/l bungkil kelapa) dan F(2,4 g/l kotroran ayam). Pemberian Tubifex sp. sebagai pakan alami adalah sebanyak ±2975 ind/wadah/sekali pemeberian pada minggu pertama dan ±3967 ind/wadah/sekali pemberian pada minggu kedua. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi perbedaan sangat nyata (P<0,01) pada laju pertumbuhan larva ikan lele,  namun tidak berbeda (P>0,01) untuk tingkat kelulushidupan. Laju pertumbuhan relatif larva ikan lele memiliki nilai rerata berkisar antara 9,13% - 11,55% dengan tingkat kelulushidupan berkisar antara 98,67% - 99,67%.  Berdasarkan pada hasil penelitian, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa perlakuan D dengan nilai 11,55% merupakan perlakuan terbaik dan dianjurkan untuk meningkatkan laju pertumbuhan larva ikan lele.

Abstract

The cost of feed is one of the production costs that account for 65%, so the need for alternative feed ingredients that can reduce feed costs. Lemna plant has good enough nutrition as alternative food such as protein 32,13%, nitrogen extract (BETN) 15,96%, and fat 5,13%, crude fiber 28,58% and ash 18, 20% that can be used as fish feed ingredients.The aim of this study is to determine the effect and the best dose level of fermented lemna flour to the level of feed utilization, growth and survival of dumbo catfish (C. gariepinus).The experimental fish used was juvenile of catfishwith an average individual body weight of 3,43±0,06 g and the density of 1 fish/2 l for 42 days. This experimental applied completely randomized design (CRD), which consisted of 5 treatments and 3 replicates. The treatments were treatment each by an addition of flour lemna fermented 0% (A), 5% (B), 10% (C), 15% (D) and 20% (E) respectively. The results showed that the flour lemna fermented provided significantly effect (P<0,05) on total feed comsumption, feed utilization effeciency), protein efficiency ratio and relative growth rate. However, no significant effects (P>0,05) wereoccured on the values of survival rate. The highest dose of 20% dose of fermented lemon flour resulted in total feed intake of 170.01 ± 9.25 g, feed efficiency of 78.82 ± 4.75%, protein efficiency ratio of 2.49 ± 0.15% and the relative growth rate (of 4.60 ± 0.31% / day, while the optimum dose of fermented lemon flour to total feed consumption, the efficiency of feed utilization protein efficiency ratio and relative growth rate have not found the optimum point because based on orthogonal polynomial test still patterned linear.

Abstract

Daphnia sp. merupakan pakan alami yang potensial untuk larva ikan karena mempunyai kandungan nutrisi yang tinggi. Kandungan nutrisi Daphnia sp. tergantung pada pakan yang dimakan dalam media kultur. Kultur Daphnia sp. sering dilakukan dengan penggunaan pupuk yang difermentasi. Fermentasi merupakan suatu proses penguraian atau perombakan suatu bahan organik. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh waktu fermentasi kotoran burung puyuh, roti afkir, dan ampas tahu terhadap pertumbuhan dan bobot biomassa Daphnia sp. dan mengetahui waktu fermentasi terbaik untuk pertumbuhan, bobot biomassa, dan kandungan lemak Daphnia sp. Kepadatan Daphnia sp. yaitu 100 ind/L. Metode penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan dengan perlakuan kultur Daphnia sp. menggunakan pupuk yang difermentasi dengan waktu berbeda yaitu: perlakuan A (pupuk tanpa fermentasi), perlakuan B (pupuk fermentasi 7 hari), perlakuan C (pupuk fermentasi 14 hari), dan perlakuan D (pupuk fermentasi 21 hari). Kombinasi kotoran burung puyuh: roti afkir: ampas tahu yaitu dengan perbandingan 1: 2: 1.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian kombinasi kotoran burung puyuh, roti afkir, dan ampas tahu yang difermentasi dengan waktu berbeda dalam media kultur Daphnia sp. memberikan pengaruh nyata (P˂0,05) pada pertumbuhan Daphnia sp. dan berpengaruh sama (P≥0,05) pada bobot biomassa Daphnia sp. Perlakuan B memberikan nilai terbaik dengan kepadatan populasi tertinggi yaitu 99.437,53 ind/L; laju pertumbuhan spesifik yaitu 0,493 /hari; bobot biomassa 118,62 ± 9,40 g; dan kandungan lemak 9,50%.

Abstract

One of the problematic factors in the cultivation of vannamei shrimp is the outbreak of bacteria and viruses. One way to prevent infection is by strengthening the shrimp’s immune system. MOTIVTM is a fermented corn protein concentrate that has been reported to possess probiotic properties that can positively increase the disease resistance of shrimp. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the effect of bioactive protein (MOTIVTM) on the total hemocyte count and shrimp survival rate. The study used an experimental method with a completely randomized design with five treatments and three replications: A (commercial feed), B (7.5% MOTIV add of 1.5% krill meal instead of 9% fish meal), C (7.5% MOTIVTM add of 1% krill meal to replaces of 2% poultry meal and 6.5% fish meal), D (7.5% MOTIVTM to replaces of 3.5% poultry meal and 4% fish meal), and E (7.5% MOTIVTM to replaces of 7.5% poultry flour). Feeding was done four times/day based on shrimp biomass and weekly feed counts based on daily shrimp survival. The vannamei shrimp used was one gram with a population density of 15 shrimps/aquarium with an aquarium volume of 100 liters.Total shrimp hemocytes, survival, and water quality were all measured. Treatment C had the highest total hemocyte, averaging 4.1 x 107 cells/mL, whereas treatment B had the lowest, averaging 1.4 x 107 cells/mL. During the trial, only treatment C supported 100% survival.

Abstract

This research was aimed to found out the effect of fermented quail feces, bread waste, and tofu and determine the best treatment to generate the biomass growth, and the nutrition content of the Daphnia sp. This research used laboratory animals such as Daphnia sp. and a container of concrete tanks as many as four. The methods of this research was used experimental methods with Complete Randomize Design with 4 treatments and population count repetition as 3 times with the density of the Daphnia sp. was 100 ind./l. Treatments of this research were Tretment A (0 % chicken mannure, 50 % tofu waste and 50 % bread waste), B (25 % chicken mannure, 50 % tofu waste and 25 % bread waste), C (25 % chicken mannure, 25 % tofu waste and 50 % bread waste, D (50 % chicken mannure, 25 % tofu waste and 25 % bread waste) with the total amount of the combination was 200 g/l. Data which observed were population density, biomass, and nutrition content. The results showed that the treatment of A was the lowest population density valued 548.67 ind / ml and the highest population density was on C treatment with a density of 1328.67 ind / ml at the peak of the stationary phase. Biomass in treatment C resulted in 336.30 grams and the treatment A yield 82.64 grams, and the content of nutrients with the highest protein is found in the C treatment with a value of 66.80%.Keywords : Daphnia sp.; chicken manure; tofu waste; bread waste; fermentation

Abstract

This research aims to know the influence of the time of fermentation of organic matter (chicken mature, tofu waste and bread waste) that’s different to protein content of fertilizer of Daphnia sp.’s culture media and determine the best treatment to produce the protein content of fertilizer of Daphnia sp.’s culture media, growth, biomass and protein content on Daphnia sp.. This research used laboratory animals such as Daphnia sp. and a container of concrete tanks as many as 12. The methods of this research used experimental methods with Complete Random Design with 4 treatments and 3 repetition with the density of the Daphnia sp. was 100 ind./l with a dose of fertilizers is 25 % chicken manure, 25 % tofu waste and 50 % bread the total amount of the combination was 2 g/l. Treatments of this research were Treatment A (0 days fermentation without EM4), B (7 days fermentation), C (14 days fermentation), D (21 days fermentation). The results showed that the treatment of C was the highest protein content of fertilizer is 20.10%, population density valued 1036.73 ind/ml, biomass in treatment C resulted averaged in 130.40 gram, the content of protein is 67.49%, specific growth rate with a value of 0.671/day. The conclusion of this research that was found from the addition of the combination organic material (chicken manure, tofu waste and bread waste) with different fermentation time gave significant difference (P<0,01) on nutritional fertilizers, growth, biomass, and nutrient contents of Daphnia sp.Keywords : Daphnia sp., time of fermentation, protein
