Abstract

Supplier X in Lembang faces distribution efficiency issues due to a conventional delivery system that results in long travel distances and high operational costs. This study aims to optimize the distribution system through the implementation of a Milk Run System based on Lean Logistics and the Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) method using the Nearest Neighbor algorithm. This case study involves the delivery of cabbage to five local markets with a total demand of 1,000 kg using a single pick-up vehicle. The analysis stages include data identification, distance matrix development, savings calculation, and route simulation. The results show a reduction in travel distance from 101.8 km to 41.3 km, travel time to 99.12 minutes, and distribution cost efficiency from Rp326,800 to Rp267,700 per day. This study recommends the implementation of an integrated lean-based distribution system as a strategy to enhance logistics efficiency and operational sustainability.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relevance of technical machining skills competencies at SMK Negeri 1 Karawang to labor needs in the manufacturing industry sector. The research method used is a survey with a quantitative approach. The research instrument is a questionnaire given to 68 students in the 12th grade of the technical machining program. The data analysis technique used was descriptive statistical analysis, calculating the percentage of respondents' answers based on the Likert scale to evaluate the alignment of the curriculum and graduates' competencies with industry demands. The research results indicate that the competencies possessed by graduates of SMK Negeri 1 Karawang are highly relevant and aligned with the demands of the job market. This is evident from the curriculum content alignment rate, which reached 85%. Specifically, graduates' competencies in cognitive aspects achieved a percentage of 86%, while psychomotor aspects also scored 86%. Meanwhile, the affective aspect received the highest score at 88%. However, there are still shortcomings in the mastery of soft skills, such as the 5S principles (commonly understood as Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain, though adapted here for workplace politeness and courtesy as Smile, Greeting, Politeness, and other relevant workplace behaviors might be more contextually defined) and 5P (Precision, Productivity, Maintenance, Prevention, and Improvement), as well as workplace safety culture (Safety) and work ethics. These findings recommend strengthening soft skills in the curriculum, enhancing collaboration between schools and industry, and conducting regular curriculum evaluations to ensure that graduates' competencies remain aligned with the needs of the job market.

Abstract

Pemuda usia produktif di desa Cikidang jumlahnya cukup besar dan sebagian besar tidak tamat SLTP. Mereka tidak memiliki pengetahuan dan keterampilan selain cara bertani yang diturunkan dari orang tuanya. Sementara itu, lapangan pekerjaan di bidang pertanian semakin sedikit seiring bertambah sedikitnya lahan pertanian. Hasil survei pendahuluan pelatihan yang banyak diminati calon peserta yaitu mekanik sepeda motor dan las listrik. Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman, pengetahuan dan keterampilan praktis dalam bidang mekanik sepeda motor dan las listrik. Target dan dari pelatihan ini yaitu peserta memiliki pengetahuan dan keterampilan praktis sebagai mekanik sepeda motor tingkat dasar dan las listrik. Pengetahuan dan keterampilan tersebut dapat langsung digunakan baik untuk bekerja, maupun langsung mendirikan usaha mandiri. Khalayak sasaran adalah para pemuda usia produktif yang tergabung di karang taruna dan posdaya. Kegiatan ini bermitra dengan karang taruna Binangkit dan posdaya Alifah di desa Cikidang Kecamatan Lembang. Metode pelatihan yang digunakan yaitu persuasif, kolaboratif dan partisipatif. Materi pelatihan meliputi tiga aspek yaitu pengetahuan, sikap dan keterampilan melalui latihan praktis serta magang. Ketiga aspek tersebut diberikan secara proporsional dan berimbang. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa minat dan motivasi mereka tergolong baik. Kepuasan peserta terhadap pelaksanaan kegiatan ini sebesar 93%. Seluruh peserta dinyatakan sudah memiliki pengetahuan, sikap dan keterampilan dalam tune-up sepeda motor dan las listrik tingkat dasar.

Abstract

Pengadaan barang di perusahaan besar seperti PT XYZ menjadi aspek utama yang mendukung kelancaran operasional dan keberhasilan bisnis. Dalam pelaksanaannya, berbagai metode diterapkan untuk memastikan efisiensi dan mengurangi potensi pemborosan. PT XYZ telah mengimplementasikan dua pendekatan utama dalam proses pengadaannya, yaitu metode manual dan otomatis. Pendekatan manual mencakup langkah-langkah seperti pencarian vendor, pembuatan komparasi vendor, hingga proses persetujuan yang menggunakan tanda tangan fisik. Di sisi lain, metode otomatis telah diterapkan dalam bentuk sistem berbasis website yang memungkinkan pemantauan alur kerja secara real-time

Abstract

The growing concerns over ozone depletion and global warming caused by refrigerants have led to the search for environmentally friendly alternatives. This study evaluates the impact of varying R-290 refrigerant charge masses on the performance of a wall-mounted residential air conditioner using the drop-in substitute method. A ¾ HP residential AC unit originally charged with 550 grams of R-22 refrigerant was retrofitted with R-290 and tested at charge masses of 140 grams, 165 grams, and 190 grams—approximately 25%, 30%, and 35% of the original R-22 charge, in accordance with the commonly applied “one-third rule.” The results showed that retrofitting with R-290 increased the Refrigeration Effect (RE) by up to 75%, Compression Work (Wc) by 68%, and Coefficient of Performance (COP) by up to 18%. The system with a 25% refrigerant charge was unable to reach the set temperature due to a 23% reduction in cooling capacity, while the 30% charge showed a 10% reduction. The 35% refrigerant mass retrofit proved the most suitable, achieving adequate cooling capacity, an 18% increase in COP, and a 14% reduction in power consumption. Additionally, the retrofit resulted in an indirect CO₂ emission reduction of 1.15 metric tons annually, highlighting the environmental and energy-saving advantages of using R-290. These findings provide empirical validation of the one-third rule for refrigerant mass variation in R-290 retrofits and offer valuable insights into optimizing performance and efficiency in residential AC units, with significant energy and environmental benefits.
