Abstract

Pembelajaran matematika tidak hanya mencakup berbagai penguasaan konsep matematika, melainkan juga terkait aplikasinya dalam kehidupan nyata. Kemampuan matematika aplikatif, seperti mengoleksi, menyajikan, menganalisis, dan menginterpretasikan data, serta mengkomunikasikannya sangat perlu untuk dikuasai siswa. Salah satu isu penting dalam pembelajaran matematika saat ini adalah pentingnya pengembangan kemampuan komunikasi matematika siswa. Hal ini juga sesuai dengan salah satu tujuan pembelajaran matematika, yakni mengkomunikasikan gagasan dengan simbol, tabel, diagram, atau media lain untuk memperjelas keadaan atau masalah. Pada artikel ini akan dikemukakan tentang pengembangan kemampuan komunikasi matematika siswa melalui pembelajaran matematika. Kata kunci: kemampuan komunikasi matematis, model pembelajaran auditory intellectualy repetition

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses meminimalkan kesalahan konsep kombinatorik melalui model pembelajaran PACE pada mahasiswa semester III Universitas Wisnuwardhana Malang. Metode pengambilan datanya dilakukan secara verbal, sehingga penelitian ini tergolong penelitian kualitatif. Pengambilan data diawali dengan mahasiswa diminta untuk mengerjakan soal yang berkaitan dengan masalah kombinatorik. Mahasiswa yang banyak mengalami kesalahan dilanjutkan dengan wawancara oleh peneliti. Dari data yang diperoleh dilanjutkan dengan penerapan model pembelajaran PACE yang terdiri dari (1) project; (2) activity; (3) cooperative; dan (4) exercise. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa yang mengalami kesalahan berkurang, hal ini berartikesalahan konsep kombinatorik dapat diminimalkan dengan penerapan model pembelajaran PACE.Kata kunci: konsep, kombinatorika, pembelajaran PACE

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe an increase in mathematical communication skills through a problem-based learning model. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with the type of research used is tangent circle class material action research. The subjects in this study were class VIII MTs. In this study, students were given a posttest question in the form of a description question which numbered 5 questions in the learning process that used a problem-based learning model. From the results obtained, it will be seen how the mathematical communication skills of MTs students. The results of the study showed that applying the problem-based learning model, students' mathematical communication skills improved.Keywords: mathematical communication, problem-based learning

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the construction of student thinking in solving contextual mathematical problems with a framework of patterns. The importance of constructing student thinking in learning contextual mathematics is so that mathematics learning does not lose meaning and is expected to improve mathematics teaching in schools. This study uses qualitative methods and the subjects in this study are selected based on the results of the solution, namely: students with the results of completion and answers correctly referred to as M1, students with incorrect results but answers are correct as M2, and students with correct completion and wrong answers as M3. The three subjects were asked to solve the problem of contextual mathematical fraction operations with a framework of patterns. Construction of thinking in solving fractions in contextual mathematics experienced by the subject is a construct based on mental structure. This is indicated by the existence of several activities, namely (i) solving questions based on prior knowledge (Action); (ii) reflect on the results of the settlement (Process); (iii) explain the outcome of the settlement and at the same time be able to give an example (Object); and (iv) design and complete mathematical models that have been formed by using actions, processes, objects, and other schemes of a problem related to fractions (Scheme).Keywords:  construction thinking, problem solving, fractional operations, contextual mathematics

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the ability of students' level of thinking insolving geometry problems with curved side spaces based on Van Hiele's level ofgeometry thinking in class IX students of SMP PGRI Poncokusumo Malang.This research method is descriptive qualitative research. In this case the analysis of the description of the level of thinking of students in solving geometry problems arising from the curved side space based on Van Hiele's theory. The research subjects taken were grade IX students of Poncokusumo Middle School, totaling 11 students. The instruments used were test, interview and documentation instruments.The results of the geometry problem analysis test show that the curvature shows that students have improved from previous studies where at level 0 and 1 all students have been able to achieve it, for level 2 there are 2 students who have not been able and level 3 there are 3 people who did not reach this level while for level 4 there are 5 students who are unable to achieve it. Researchers hope that the teacher who will teach the material to build curved side spaces to pay attention to methods that are suitable for students so that the student learning process does not experience complexity and pay attention to the process of working on problems and drawing conclusions. To increase the level of thinking students on geometry material, build curved side spaces can use teaching aids so that students easily understand.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the errors of junior high school students in solving integer story questions. The type of research that will be used is descriptive qualitative. 24 students of grade VII SMP were made participants. The instruments used were in the form of integer story questions and semi-structured interview sheets. The data collection procedure began by giving test questions to participants. The work of students who experience a lot of mistakes is analyzed using the Newman or NEA (Newman Error Error) procedure. Obtained three groups of students who experienced the same error in solving integer story questions in writing. One student was taken from each group to represent what is hereinafter referred to as subject 1 (S1), Subject 2 (S2), Subject 3 (S3). The results obtained indicated that in completing the whole number story problem, S1 did not understand the overall meaning, so there was some information that was missed on the purpose of the problem or question. S2 understands the problem contained in the problem, but cannot write information in mathematical form, and does not do calculations correctly. S3 could not perform mathematical calculations or procedures correctly. The researcher concluded that students who experience errors in reading problems would experience four other errors, namely errors in understanding and problem transformation, then students would also experience errors in process skills and errors in writing the final result.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a valid, practical, and effective ACPAE learning model that can restore students’ self-efficacy. The development of the ACPAE model is a modification of PACE learning by adding one stage in the form of action. Less varied learning models result in students being bored when learning mathematics is taking place. For mathematics learning to run more actively and achieve learning objectives, the learning model to be applied must be appropriate. Students perceive mathematics as a difficult and tiring subject. This results in decreased students’ self-efficacy. The data analysis technique was obtained from the validity test questionnaire, practicality test, and effectiveness test results with 15 junior high school students as the subject. The results showed that the ACPAE model of learning could increase students' activeness in learning. The level of self-efficacy of students was shown by daring to interact in group discussions and appearing confident in front of the class. Based on the results of the validity test, the ACPAE learning model module obtained a value of 78.8%, for Lesson Plan obtained a value of 76.6%, for Student Worksheet obtained a value of 76.3%, for student response questionnaires received a value of 88.3% while for the percentage of learning completeness by 86.6%. So that when viewed from the assessment criteria, the ACPAE model is very appropriate to be used as a variation of the mathematics learning model.

Abstract

Problem solving is an important aspect of learning mathematics. The fact indicates that the learning outcomes of students in perimeter and area of the circle is low. Therefore, we need a serious effort to help student master perimeter and area of the circle through problem solving instruction. The aims of this study are to describe: 1) the design of mathematics instruction through problem solving approach to achieve student mastery in perimeter and area of the circle, 2) the student achievement in perimeter and area of the circle through this instruction, and 3) students respond toward this instruction. This study used a qualitative approach and classroom action research design. The subject of this study is eighth grade students in SMP Kartika IV-9 Malang. The result shows that the instruction can achieve mastery learning in perimeter and area of the circle and the students respond is very positive toward this instruction. Therefore, it is suggested to the teachers to apply this instruction in their teaching.

Abstract

Matematika merupakan salah satu mata pelajaran pokok yang diajarkan di  setiap jenjang pendidikan dasar. Di satu pihak, sebagai ratu, matematika merupakan bentuk tertinggi dari logika. Di pihak lain, sebagai pelayan, matematika bukan saja memberikan sistem pengorganisasian ilmu yang bersifat logis namun juga pertanyaan-pertanyaan dalam bentuk model matematika. Banyak metode pembelajaran yang merangsang mahasiswa untuk belajar mandiri, kreatif, dan lebih aktif dalam mengikuti kegiatan pembelajaran. Di antara metode pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran matematika yang memberi kesempatan kepada mahasiswa untuk belajar mandiri, kreatif, dan lebih aktif adalah dengan metode pembelajaran Auditory Intellectualy Repetition (AIR). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penerapan model pembelajaran matematika model Auditory Intellectualy Repetition (AIR) dalam menyelesaikan masalah peluang. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran matematika menggunakan pembelajaran Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR) dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar mahasiswa pada materi peluang, khususnya materi menentukan ruang sampel suatu kejadian dan menentukan peluang suatu kejadian. Peningkatan hasil belajar  terutama terjadi pada aspek kognitif. Kata kunci: Pembelajaran Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR), materi peluang, hasil belajar
