Abstract

The Service is required to be part of the hospital in implementing the documentation of nursing care using computerization. Patients in hospitals often feel dissatisfied with services because nurses take too long to search for patient history data and nurses feel dissatisfied in paper-based documentation which makes the workload increase. The purpose of this study was to design a nursing care documentation design in the 2000s SDKI, SLKI, SIKI (3S) in hospital management information systems on nurse satisfaction. The research method used a research and development design as well as descriptive observational cross sectional with a total sampling technique of 74 nursing respondents at Dian Harapan Jayapura Hospital and analyzed using simple regression analysis. The results showed that 73% of the 3-S nursing care documentation design in SIMRS was in the good category and 77% of nurses were satisfied with the 2000s nursing care documentation design in SIMRS and a significant p-value (0.000) which means that there is an effect of 30.8 % between the design of the 3S nursing care documentation in SIMRS and the satisfaction of nurses at Dian Harapan Jayapura Hospital. It can be said that by increasing the resulting information system, the satisfaction of nurses as users is getting better. It is recommended to hold socialization, training and policy realization for nurses documenting 3S nursing care in SIMRS.

Abstract

Caring is a characteristic of nursing that is applied through the attitudes and actions of the nurse to the patient. Caring behavior in nursing should be based on patient culture to reduce the patient's ugly assessment of nurses such as lack of communication, social distancing with patients, less friendly, less polite, less sincere, less time to the patient and less responsive to patient complaints. The purpose of this study is to explore the caring behavior of nurses from the perspective of Banten culture at X Hospital in Rangkasbitung. Qualitative research method with exploratory phenomenological approach. Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) are used for data collection. Participants consisted of 10 nurses and 5 patients. Analysis of thematic data using the Colaizzi method. The findings of 5 themes are nurses providing holistic nursing services to patients, nurse communication styles to patients, gender-based nursing care, belief in myths and health, health decision makers by families and aged people. This study explains that the application of caring in nursing needs to pay attention to patient culture. Suggestions for the need to conduct research with a mix of methods or triangulation of varied participants.

Abstract

ABSTRACTPain in labor results in the release of adrenaline which will cause the blood vessels to constrict so that it will reduce the flow of blood that carries oxygen to the uterus and result in a decrease in uterine contractions which will prolong labor time. Lemon contains 66-80 geranyl acetate, neutral, 6-14% terpine, 1-4% α pinene and mrcyne and Limonen. Limonen is known as a pain reliever which can be an effective anesthetic in reducing anxiety during labor, where anxiety results in a long labor process that can be fatal to the fetus (fetal outcome). This study aims to determine the effect of giving lemon inhalation to labor pain. This study used quantitative research techniques. This type of research used a pre-experimental procedure with a one-group pretest-post design. This study used only one intervention group and no comparison (control) group. With a sample of 17 respondents, the technique of taking the total population. The tool in this study used a questionnaire containing a checklist of the NRS (Numeric Rating Scale) to measure labor pain. The study was conducted from June to October 2022. The statistical test results obtained p value = 0.009, this indicates that there is an effect of giving lemon inhalation to reducing labor pain in the active phase of the first stage, so Ho is rejected, indicating reduced contractions from conditions before and after lemon inhalation is given . Abstract

Diabetic foot ulcers (DFU) are one of the complications of diabetes that has a serious impact and requires high treatment costs. However, they can be prevented early through a series of assessments. The most recommended initial assessment method to determine the risk of complications is the BWAT Method. However, nurses’ BWAT method is still considered too long and complicated. In addition, the hospital also has a different handling program from the BWAT method, so it is necessary to develop the BWAT method and adjust this method to the SOP, which is expected to be more easily applied by nurses. This study aims to design the development of the Bates-Jensen Wound Assessment Tools (BWAT) method for DFU patients with the development of Hospital SOPs. The research method is qualitative action research, while data collection uses focus group discussion (FGD) on 10 participants determined through purposive sampling techniques, with minimum nurse criteria and a minimum length of work of 5 years. Data analysis using the Collaizi model expert judgment was given to three speakers to design SOPs for the BWAT method of wound assessment. The study results obtained four themes related to wound assessment in DFU patients and a draft SOP for wound assessment by developing the BWAT method for DFU patients who received treatment at the hospital. The SOP development trial found that with the same flow but with shorter language, the SOP is easier to understand and easier for nurses to implement; however, improvements are still needed from this SOP, namely in the form of additional evaluation items in the SOP that are expected to be used to improve communication between health care providers to facilitate the process of providing sustainable nursing services.

Abstract

Background: Nursing management is the specific responsibility of the nursing manager to plan, organize, direct, and supervise resources, including personnel, equipment, and funds, to provide effective nursing care to patients, families, and the community. The head of the ward is responsible for managing the health care activities in a particular ward. Patricia Benner identified seven key areas in surgical practice, namely the assisting role, teaching and training functions, monitoring diagnosis and patients, managing change, therapeutic interventions, monitoring the quality of practice, and organizational work competencies. Benner developed this concept to describe the practical knowledge and skills in wetting, including the application of moist wound healing methods. Objective: This study aims to develop a governance model for the moist wound healing method based on Patricia Benner and Katherine Kolcaba's theories to improve the quality of wound care at RSUD Anugerah Tomohon. Method: The research design employed an action research method with a qualitative approach. The study sample consisted of 10 nurses working in the wound care unit. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and direct observation and were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify key themes related to the application of the moist wound healing method. Result: the moist wound healing method enhances the quality of wound care and accelerates the healing process. The implementation of the governance model based on Kolcaba and Benner's theories has a positive impact on wound care outcomes. Conclusion: This study recommends that hospitals adopt this model more widely and provide intensive training to nurses to enhance their wound care skills.
