Abstract

Due to physical dormancy, Casuarina equisetifolia seeds have a poor germination rate, which makes it difficult to supply the seeds' needs. Soaking the seeds in hot water is a natural technique to promote water access to the seeds, especially those with a hard outer shell structure. The study's goal was to test if Casuarina equisetifolia seed dormancy could be broken by immersing them in hot water. The experiment used a completely randomized design with a long soaking treatment in hot water, which included soaking for 6 hours in normal temperature water, soaking for 6 hours with water with an initial temperature of 600C, and soaking for 12 hours with water with an initial temperature of 600C, each repeated 8 times. The observed data were subjected to a variance analysis and a F level 0.05 test. If there is a significant effect, the Honestly Significant Difference test is performed at a level of 0.05. According to the findings, breaking the dormancy of Casuarina equisetifolia seeds by soaking them in hot water for 12 hours at an initial temperature of 600C resulted in the best maximal growth potential, germination, and first count germination.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of interactions between peanut varieties and treatment of cow dung. This research was conducted in Kalumbuk Village, Padang City, West Sumatra from September to December 2018. The study was conducted using Factorial Completely Randomized Design. The experimental treatment consisted of two factors. The first factor consisted of 3 peanut varieties, namely varieties of Talam 1, Takar 2 and Tala 1. The second factor was cow dung which consisted of 4 levels namely 0 tons ha-1, 5 tons ha-1, 10 tons ha-1 and 15 ton ha-1. The combination of each treatment obtained 9 units with replications 3 times. The parameters observed were plant height, number of primary branches, number of nodules, age of flower appearance, number of pods, percentage of soft pods, weight of pods per clump, number of seeds, weight of 100 seeds, dry pod weight per plot and per hectare. The results showed that the interaction of peanut varieties with cow manure treatment on the parameters of the number of nodules and the production of the weight of dry pods per hectare was highest, namely in the Talam 1 variety with 15 tons ha-1 cow dung. Keywords: Cow Manure, Peanut Varieties

Abstract

Upland rice tolerance test trials based on pithy seeds on ultisols used for tuber cultivation and new openings were carried out from November 2019 – February 2021 in Nagari Kampung Pinang, Lubuk Basung sub-district with the aim of knowing the interaction of upland rice varieties on ultisols of former tubers and new openings of ultisols. This experiment was conducted in a factorial Randomized Block Design with two factors. The first factor was the upland rice varieties Rindang I, Luhur I and Barabah, and the second factor was the ultisol treated layer, namely cassava ultisol, onion ultisol treatment layer and new layer processing. Based on the experiment, it was concluded that the three upland rice varieties tested, namely Rindang I, Luhur I and Barabah were classified as tolerant varieties with the order of tolerance being the Rindang I variety, followed by the Luhur I variety and the Barabah variety. Keywords: rice, ultisol, cassava, shallot

Abstract

The aim of this experiment is to get the right concentration in auxin application for growth and production of red rice on sistem bujur sangkar utama. This experiment was carried out from March to June 2019 in the Nagari Aie Tajun rice fields in Lubuk Alung District, Padang Pariaman Regency. The experiment used this type of Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 4 groups. The treatment factor was auxin ZPT (Z), which consisted of 5 levels, namely the conventional system (control), Auxin 0 ml/L, Auxin 1 ml/L, Auxin 2 ml/L, Auxin 3 ml/L. The experiment consisted of 5 treatments and 4 replications in order to obtain 20 experimental units. The data were processed with variance with levels of = 0.05 and 0.01 and continued with the DNMRT test at levels = 0.05 and 0.01. Based on the experiments that have been carried out, it can be concluded that the treatment of the concentration of 3 ml/auxin with a square system the main produce per hectare is 6.44 Mg.ha-1. Tujuan dalam percobaan ini adalah untuk mendapatkan konsentrasi yang tepat dalam aplikasi Auksin untuk pertumbuhan dan produksi padi merah pada sistem bujur sangkar utama. Percobaan ini di lakasanakan dari Maret hingga Juni 2019 di lahan sawah Nagari Aie Tajun di Kecamatan Lubuk Alung, Kabupaten Padang PariamanPercobaan menggunakan tipe Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) ini dengan 4 kelompok. Faktor perlakuan yaitu ZPT auksin (Z), yang terdiri dari 5 taraf yaitu sistem konvensional (kontrol), Auksin 0 ml/L, Auksin 1 ml/L, Auksin 2 ml/L, Auksin 3 ml/L . Percobaan terdiri dari 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan sehingga didapat 20 satuan percobaan. Data diolah dengan sidik ragam dengan taraf = 0,05 dan 0,01 serta dilanjutkan dengan uji DNMRT pada taraf = 0,05 dan 0,01.Berdasarkan percobaan yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan pada perlakuan konsentrasi 3 ml/L auksin dengan sistem bujur sangkar utama menghasilkan produksi perhektar yaitu 6.44 Mg.ha-1.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon varietas kacang tanah (Arachis hypogaea L) terhadap pupuk cair limbah industri tahu. Percobaan ini telah dilakukan di Kelurahan Kalumbuk, Kecamatan Kuranji Kota Padang, Sumatra Barat dari Maret sampai Juni 2022. Percobaan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan 2 faktor. Faktor pertama terdiri dari 4 varietas kacang tanah yakni garuda, takar 2, tigo ampek, dan duo. Faktor kedua adalah konsentrasi pupuk cair limbah industri tahu terdiri dari 3 taraf yakni 0, 400 dan 800 ml L-1. Data hasil pengamatan disidik ragam dan diuji F taraf 0,05. Apabila terdapat pengaruh nyata dilanjutkan dengan uji DNMRT. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa terjadi respon varietas kacang tanah yakni (1) interaksi varietas kacang tanah dan konsentrasi POC limbah tahu berpengaruh nyata terhadap bobot polong kering per plot yaitu 505,33 g dan bobot polong kering per hektar yaitu 3,37 ton, (2) varietas kacang tanah dengan produksi tertinggi didapat pada varietas Takar 2, (3) POC limbah tahu dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman kacang tanah dengan dosis terbaik 400 ml/L.

Abstract

The objective of the experiment was to determine the response of sweet corn varieties to Thitonia compost in ultisol rice fields. The experiment was conducted in Kalumbuk Village, Kuranji District, Padang City from September – November 2021. The experiment was carried out using a completely randomized factorial design with the first factor being sweet corn varieties namely Bonanza, Asia 86, and Paragon, while the second factor was the dosage of Thitonia compost consisting of 4 levels namely 0 , 4, 8, and 12 tonnes ha-1. The combination of the two factors is repeated 3 times. Based on the experimental results, it was concluded that the response of the sweet corn varieties Bonanza, Asia 86 and Paragon showed a variety of growth, showed a variety of yield components and a variety of production in ultisols. Sequentially the highest production was obtained by the Asian variety 86 namely 18.00 t ha-1, followed by the Bonanza variety, namely 17.43 t ha-1 and Paragon variety, namely 16.44 t ha-1 with dosage Thitonia compost namely 8 t ha-1.
