Abstract

Islam controls all aspects of human economic life, including production, distribution, and consumption—activities that are crucial for generating economic growth. According to an article by Abdul Mannan, this production paradigm establishes the idea that morality and profit are both important factors in economic welfare. This study is driven by moral responsibility disparities that are at odds with the idea of production and a need to examine how thinking relates to the SDGs agenda. In-depth analysis of this relevance is done using the characters' thinking. This study employs a qualitative methodology, a library research approach, and content analysis as the research tool. This investigation clarifies Mannan's theory of production. The findings of this study demonstrate that Mannan's ideas about Islamic production are highly pertinent to the SDGs, which can also promote moral responsibility in every aspect of production.

Abstract

This study aims to map and evaluate the development of research on abnormal return and event study in the Islamic stock market using a bibliometric approach. Bibliographic data were collected from Google Scholar through Publish or Perish (PoP) software version 8.17.4863.9118, covering publications from 2020 to 2025, resulting in 350 relevant journal articles. The data were analyzed using VOSviewer version 1.6.20 to identify publication trends, author collaboration networks, and keyword co-occurrence patterns. The results reveal a significant increase in research output, particularly in the post-pandemic period, indicating growing academic interest in Islamic capital markets. The dominant research themes focus on market reaction, Islamic stock indices, and event study methodologies, while author collaboration remains relatively limited and regionally clustered. Furthermore, keyword analysis highlights emerging research directions, including the integration of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) aspects, as well as risk and volatility analysis in the context of Shariah-compliant stocks. This study contributes to the literature by providing a comprehensive overview of the intellectual structure and evolution of abnormal return and event study research in Islamic stock markets. The findings are expected to serve as a reference for future academic research and to support policymakers and practitioners in developing evidence-based strategies for the Islamic capital market.

Abstract

Waqf has emerged as an increasingly important instrument within Islamic social finance due to its potential to promote sustainable social welfare and support long-term socio-economic development. Despite the growing innovation in waqf management and digital philanthropic platforms, participation among Millennials and Generation Z remains relatively limited. This study aims to examine the influence of religiosity on waqf intention and to investigate whether income moderates this relationship among Muslim Millennials and Generation Z in Indonesia. A quantitative cross-sectional survey design was employed, involving 280 valid respondents selected through convenience sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4. The results indicate that religiosity has a strong and significant positive effect on waqf intention (β = 0.854, p < .001), confirming that religious commitment is a major driver of Islamic philanthropic behavior among younger Muslims. In contrast, income has no significant direct effect on waqf intention (β = −0.025, p = .435) and does not moderate the relationship between religiosity and waqf intention (β = −0.018, p = .554). The structural model demonstrates substantial explanatory power, accounting for 72.9% of the variance in waqf intention (R² = .729). These findings suggest that waqf intention among Millennials and Generation Z is primarily shaped by internalized religious values rather than economic capacity. The study contributes to the literature on Islamic social finance by highlighting religiosity as an independent motivational driver and provides practical insights for waqf institutions to develop value-based engagement strategies tailored to younger generations.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of financial ratios such as Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Non-Performing Loan (NPL), Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR), and Net Interest Margin (NIM) on Return on Assets (ROA) in the Indonesian banking sector. This study uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method with the PRISMA approach to ensure transparency and replication of the study. The data used was taken from various journals published between 2019 and 2024 through the Google Scholar and Scopus databases. The conclusion of this study confirms that Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR), and Net Interest Margin (NIM) generally have a positive impact on Return on Assets (ROA). Conversely, a Non-Performing Loan (NPL) has a negative impact on Return on Assets (ROA). However, in terms of significant influence, Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Non-Performing Loan (NPL), Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR), and Net Interest Margin (NIM) have varying significant influences on Return on Assets (ROA) depending on the internal and external conditions of the bank.

Abstract

Waqf is one of the Islamic philanthropic instruments with significant potential to support social development, education, and community economic empowerment. However, the realization of waqf collection in Indonesia remains far below its estimated potential. As Islamic educational institutions, pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) hold a strategic position in promoting cash-based waqf due to their strong community networks and deeply rooted philanthropic culture. This study aims to examine the influence of waqf literacy and attitudes toward waqf on the intention to participate in waqf through money within the pesantren environment, as well as to identify the waqf model preferred by the pesantren community. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method involving 120 respondents consisting of students, teachers, administrative staff, and employees of Pesantren Al-Ma'tuq Sukabumi. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, validity testing, reliability testing, and multiple linear regression analysis. The findings reveal that waqf literacy has a positive and significant effect on the intention to participate in waqf through money (β = 0.290; p < 0.05), while attitudes toward waqf also have a positive and significant effect on such intention (β = 0.437; p < 0.05). Simultaneously, both variables significantly influence the intention to participate in waqf through money, as indicated by an F-value of 64.74 and a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.525. Furthermore, most respondents preferred a regular waqf scheme with a small contribution amount, particularly IDR 5,000 per week, and demonstrated a high willingness to participate in a routine waqf program. These findings suggest that improving waqf literacy and fostering positive attitudes toward waqf are essential factors in developing pesantren-based waqf- through-money programs.

Abstract

Purpose – This study examines the influence of brand ambassador (Lee Min Ho), brand image, and price on purchase decisions for Azarine Cosmetic products, with electronic word of mouth (e-WOM) as a moderating variable. It addresses the limited evidence on the combined effects of these variables in the context of local cosmetic brands using global celebrity endorsements. Methodology – A quantitative approach was employed using purposive sampling with 200 Azarine users familiar with Lee Min Ho’s endorsement. Data were collected through online questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4. Reliability and validity were confirmed through Cronbach’s Alpha, Composite Reliability, AVE, and discriminant validity. Findings – Brand ambassador significantly influenced e-WOM but had no direct effect on purchase decisions. In contrast, brand image and price significantly affected both e-WOM and purchase decisions. e-WOM also had a significant positive effect on purchase decisions. Furthermore, e-WOM strengthened the relationship between brand ambassador and purchase decisions but did not significantly moderate the effects of brand image and price. Originality – This study proposes an integrated model demonstrating how celebrity endorsement, brand image, price, and e-WOM jointly influence consumer purchase decisions, extending marketing and consumer behavior literature in the context of Indonesian local cosmetic brands.
