Abstract

This research aimed at describing the implementation of TPS learning model using Realistic Mathematics Approach in solving problems. The type of research was qualitative descriptive. The subjects of this research were the students of class 8-I that consisted of 20 students. The data collection methods that used in this research were: 1) observation, 2) test, 3) interview, and 4) documentation. The research results indicated that the learning used the TPS model using the Realistic Mathematics Approach in the geometry material of prism and pyramid during four-time meetings overall could be conducted based on what had been planned. The learning stages are adjusted to the students’ learning activities in order to improve the students’ thinking abilities and skills to solve the problems. The students’ mathematical problem-solving ability was high categorized after the implementation of this learning model. It was proven by the test results which indicated that the students were able to master the three important stage namely understanding the problems, planning the completion, and implementing the plans. The understanding stage was by writing down the information from the problems and the information that had been asked from the question very well. In the planning stage, the students also could write down the information into the mathematical model and plan the completion strategy even though it was not complete enough. Therefore, in the model of implementing the plan, the students were able to implement the completion based on the plans and get the results.

Abstract

This research aimed at discovering the validity and effectiveness of the interactive media of "Venn Gram" to improve the conceptual understanding of the set operations. This research was a development research (research and development). The research subjects were the students of 7th grade who consisted of nine students. The data collection techniques were in the form of a validation questionnaire and test. The subjects were in the form of pre-test and post-test questions which later the answer sheets were used as an increase of students' conceptual understanding before and after using the media. The validation questionnaire results showed that 84% of the media were very valid, 83% of the material was very valid, and 82% of the test questions were very valid. The test results found that seven students experienced an increase in the pre-test and post-test scores. Meanwhile, two other students experienced a decrease. The results of students who had increased showed that the ability of students in understanding the concept of set operations was included in the high criteria before and after using the media. The media of the Venn Gram can be used to improve the conceptual understanding of set operations.

Abstract

A magic square of order n is an n by n matrix with distinct nonnegative integer with the property that the sum of the numbers in each row, each column and the main and back diagonals is same. This sum is the magic sum. In this paper we will discuss some methods to construct the first n2 positive integers for magic squares. The first method that will be established is Latin square Decomposition. Some magic squares can be derived directly with this method. Other methods that also will be discussed are trial and error method, De La Loubére construction, Strachey construction, and product construction. Finally we conclude that for all positif integers n, n ¹ 2, it can be constructed a magic square of order-n

Abstract

Literasi matematis merupakan kemampuan individu dalam menggunakan dan menginterpretasikan matematika ke dalam berbagai situasi pada kehidupan sehari-hari. Dalam rangka meningkatkan kemampuan literasi matematis dilakukan dengan mengembangkan handout yang bercirikan kearifan lokal Malang Raya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan handout matematika bercirikan kearifan lokal untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi matematis yang valid, praktis, dan efektif. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah penelitian Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation). Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X yang berjumlah 33 siswa. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini antara lain lembar validasi untuk memperoleh penilaian kevalidan handout, lembar soal pre-test dan post-test untuk mengetahui keefektifan handout, dan lembar angket respon siswa untuk mengetahui kepraktisan handout.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan handout matematika bercirikan kearifan lokal bersifat valid, efektif dan praktis dengan perolehan skor kevalidan media sebesar 4,34375 dari 5, skor kevalidan materi sebesar 4,60526 dari 5, skor keefektifan dengan kenaikan nilai sebesar 25,625, dan skor kepraktisan sebesar 4,3125 dari 5.Kata kunci: Handout matematika; kearifan lokal; literasi matematis. AbstractMathematical literacy is an individual's capacity to formulate, use and interpret mathematics in various situations in everyday life. In order to improve students' mathematical literacy skills, this was done by developing handouts that were characterized by local wisdom of Malang Raya. The aim of this research is to develop mathematics handouts characterized by local wisdom to improve mathematical literacy skills that are valid, practical, and effective.  The type of research used in this research is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) model. The research subjects were students in X grade which amounted to 33 students. The research instruments used in this study included validation sheets to obtain an assessment of the validity of the handouts, pre-test and post-test question sheets to determine the effectiveness of the handouts, and student response questionnaires to determine the practicality of the handouts. The results showed that the development of mathematical handouts characterized by local wisdom was valid, effective and practical with the acquisition of a media validity score of 4.34375 out of 5, the material validity score of 4.60526 out of 5, the effectiveness score with an increase in value of 25.625, and a score of practicality of 4,3125 out of 5.Keywords: Local wisdom; mathematics’ handout; mathematical literacy

Abstract

Pembelajaran matematika yang dilakukan di SMP Negeri 06 Batu masih berupa pembelajaran langsung yang membuat siswa terbatasi idenya dan tidak mengkonstruksi pengetahuan. Penerapan pendekatan saintifik kurang optimal karena baru diterapkan di sekolah tersebut. Tujuan kegiatan Lesson Study ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa melalui penerapan pembelajaran saintifik. Kegiatan Lesson Study dilakukan dengan tahapan plan, do, dan see selama empat siklus. Pembuatan perangkat pembelajaran didiskusikan pada tahap plan kemudian dilaksanakan pada tahap do oleh guru model dan dievaluasi pada tahap see. Hasil kegiatan Lesson Study ini yaitu masih adanya miskonsepsi istilah variabel dan pengurangan suku aljabar oleh guru dan siswa. Selain itu, terdapat peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa sesuai aspek fluency, flexibility, dan originality dengan kriteria peningkatan yang baik di setiap siklus. Pendekatan saintifik diterapkan dengan sangat baik di setiap siklus.

Abstract

Masalah yang melatarbelakangi penelitian ini, peserta didik mengalami kesulitan dalam menyelesaikan soal High Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) terkait materi lingkaran, ini terjadi karena rata-rata kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik tergolong rendah sampai sedang. Salah satu alternatif meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis adalah menerapkan model pembelajaran Group Investigation. Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dalam memahami materi lingkaran melalui metode pembelajaran Group Investigation. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahap yaitu, tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi dan lembar tes. Bahan ajar adalah Unit Kegiatan Belajar Mandiri (UKBM) dengan materi lingkaran. Pada siklus pertama kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik sebesar 48,90% dengan kriteria sedang, pada sikus kedua kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik meningkat menjadi 74,34% dengan kriteria tinggi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode pembelajaran Group Investigation dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik sebesar 25,44%.

Abstract

AbstrakBanyak sekolah yang belum memahami dan siap menerapkan kurikulum prototipe dan belum pernah menerapkan pembelajaran berbasis proyek. Tujuan penelitian ini difokuskan pada cara pandang dan kinerja guru matematika dalam mempersiapkan implementasi kurikulum prototipe. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan data yang diperoleh dari observasi dan wawancara. Selanjutnya, analisis data dilakukan dengan menunjukkan bukti kinerja dan naskah wawancara tentang perspektif guru untuk meninjau kesesuaiannya dengan penelitian sebelumnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kinerja guru matematika selama penyusunan modul pembelajaran berbasis proyek adalah kesulitan dalam menyusun topik proyek dan mengoperasikan aplikasi komputer sehingga tampilan modul menjadi menarik. Perspektif guru terkait dengan kurikulum prototipe adalah adanya tantangan dalam mengembangkan modul pembelajaran berbasis proyek dimana proyek tersebut merupakan integrasi dari beberapa mata pelajaran. Penyusunan soal jenis AKM juga dinilai sulit dan produk penilaian dengan soal jenis AKM yang dihasilkan guru antara lain soal pilihan ganda, menjodohkan, esai pendek dan esai lengkap. AbstractMany schools do not understand, are ready to implement the curriculum prototype, and have never implemented project-based learning. This study uses qualitative research methods with data obtained from observation and interviews. Furthermore, data analysis was carried out by showing evidence of performance and interview scripts about the teacher's perspective to review its suitability with previous research. The results showed that the mathematics teacher's performance during the preparation of project-based learning modules was the difficulty in compiling project topics and operating computer applications so that the module's appearance became attractive. The teacher's perspective on the curriculum prototype is that there are challenges in developing project-based learning modules where the project integrates several subjects. The preparation of AKM-type questions was also considered problematic, and the assessment products with AKM-type questions produced by the teacher included multiple choice questions, matchmaking, short essays, and complete essays.

Abstract

Learning in post-pandemic schools is experiencing a transition where students are used to operating gadgets for learning while teachers are inexperienced in developing application-based media. In addition, students are also not used to solving AKM types of questions. Therefore, this study aims to describe the development of learning media using codular applications to identify student responses in solving AKM questions contained in the media. This study uses a 4D development model with a limited stage of disseminating development results. The test subjects of this study were junior high school students where the test data obtained was analyzed qualitatively from the response results after operating the media. The results of the research show that at the defining analysis stage it is done by distributing online questionnaires to teachers. The results of the questionnaire show that schools need learning media so that mathematics learning is integrated with technology. The learning media should be practical to learn and access anywhere and anytime. This resulted in the selection of learning media to be application-based and accessible through student gadgets. Next, at the design stage. Next, look for references about using Kodular applications and designing media. The results of the validation show that the media is feasible to be tested on students. Media trials as a development stage show a variety of responses. The results of identifying student responses based on questionnaires show that students like application-based learning media because they are easy to operate and practical to use for learning on various occasions. Students also stated that all navigation buttons function properly and the layout is consistent. The dissemination stage was carried out by training teachers in making application-based learning media and the result was that 2 teachers produced media.

Abstract

This development research aims to (1) Know the practicality of learning media based on the wick editor to be used in the learning process on the material of arithmetic rows and series (2) Know the response of students to the use of learning media in the classroom; and (3) Improve students' creative thinking skills to solve problems related to mathematics This research is a Research and Development (R&D) study with the ADDIE development model, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Data collection techniques used interviews, validation, student response questionnaires, and student creative thinking ability questionnaires. Validation was carried out by academics and practitioners, as well as students' responses. The wick editor-based learning media developed was tested on 34 students of class VIII at senior high school. The results of material expert validation obtained an average score of 82.95% with very valid criteria. The practicality of the media obtained from the student response questionnaire obtained an average score of 90% with very practical criteria. The effectiveness of the media is obtained from the average results of the questionnaire of students' thinking skills with an average N-Gain score of 0.75 with a high category.
