Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between real GDP, real exports, and FDI inflows in 6 ASEAN countries from 2000 to2019. The purpose of this study is to construct strategies about export-led growth, growth-led export, FDI-led growth, andvice versa. Furthermore, the strategies can be applied by policymakers. The Granger causality panel approach revealed thatonly Vietnam has a two-way causality relationship between real GDP and real exports. Malaysia does not find a causalrelationship between real GDP and real exports, and for the rest, there is only a one-way relationship between real GDP andreal exports. This study employs the dynamic panel approach to examine the trivariate model: real GDP, real exports, andFDI inflows. The results show that the study found growth-led exports and growth-led FDI. This study implies that aneconomy fully supported by economic growth is sensitive to global dynamics and trade changes. Thus, it can affect exportactivities and the investment climate.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the potential of halal food through the provision of food and beverages based on the GRDP of districts/cities in DIY in the period 2016-2021. The novelty that distinguishes this research from previous research is that there is no research that maps leading sectors to analyze the potential for halal tourism, especially halal food located in DIY. The type of data used is secondary data obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics in the form of GRDP at constant prices for 2016-2021 for all regencies/cities in DIY. The method used is the Location Quotient (LQ) approach which provides an overview of the base and non-base sectors in an area. The results of the study show that the food and beverage supply sector from 4 regencies and 1 city shows that 2 regencies and 1 city are the base sector throughout 2016-2021. The areas in question are Sleman Regency, Yogya City, and Bantul Regency which are geographically located on one linear path. The potential for halal food in the three regions is reflected in the LQ value > 1 or is a leading sector and is supported by halal culinary maps in the three regions.

Abstract

In this modern era, a prevalent social issue faced by almost every country is unemployment. Increasing unemployment rates in a region can trigger criminal activities. The objective of this research is to examine the influence of socio-economic variables, namely, unemployment, poverty, education, population density, and per capita GDP in Indonesia's 32 provinces. This study employs quantitative research methods and utilizes secondary data obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS). Data panel regression is used for data analysis. The results of this study indicate that unemployment, poverty, education, and population density do not have a significant impact. Only per capita GDP shows a coefficient of -0.539228, indicating a negative influence on the crime rate in Indonesia. However, in the case of the per capita GDP variable, the p-value is 0.0496 < 0.05, signifying that per capita GDP has a significant impact on the crime rate in Indonesia. This means that an increase in per capita GDP leads to a lower crime rate in Indonesia, as higher per capita GDP in a region contributes to economic growth and advancement.

This research utilizes panel data, drawing on secondary information obtained from World Bank during the period 2010-2022. The research employs panel data analysis, specifically Fixed Effect Model which is analyzed using the Eviews10 application. The regression analysis outcome, indicate that only the industrial growth variable affects labor absorption while the wage, FDI, inflation, and GDP variables have no impacts on labor absorption. However, simultaneously all variables have a significant impact to labor absorption in the APEC-11 Region period 2010-2022.
