Abstract

Christian education has played a significant role in shaping individual character, thought, and morality across the globe. One of the most influential figures in this field is Ignatius Loyola (1491-1556), founder of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits). Loyola’s educational philosophy, rooted in Catholic spirituality, emphasizes discipline, character formation, and the integration of faith and intellect. The purpose of this study is to explore the theological foundations of Christian education according to Ignatius Loyola, outline the core principles of his educational thought, and examine its relevance to contemporary Christian education. Data were collected through a literature review of books and scholarly articles. Loyola’s approach, known as Ignatian education, focuses on holistic development-spiritual, intellectual, and social-embodied in the principle of "cura personalis" or care for the whole person. His model has profoundly influenced Catholic educational institutions worldwide. The findings highlight that Ignatian pedagogy not only nurtures academic excellence but also fosters a spirit of service and commitment to God. This research provides insights for educators and institutions aiming to implement Christian values in modern educational settings.

Abstract

This study explores the development of a holistic Christian Religious Education (PAK) curriculum by integrating affective and psychomotor domains into the learning process. The topic is significant because the current PAK curriculum predominantly emphasizes cognitive and doctrinal aspects, resulting in Christian values being taught theoretically without practical application in students’ daily lives. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed to investigate and develop a balanced curriculum model that integrates theory, spiritual internalization, and practical skills. The findings reveal that a holistic curriculum enhances faith internalization and character formation in students, making the learning process more relevant and transformative. Implementation of this curriculum model promotes Christian education as an integrative process encompassing knowledge, attitudes, and practical competencies in real-life contexts.

Abstract

Marriage is a sacred relationship established by the Lord God. Marriage in Christianity reflects an eternal covenant through promises to God that humans should maintain so that both parties understand that marriage is part of God's plan for human life. The aim of this research is to identify the nature of marriage in Christianity, describe the concept of marriage in Christian teachings, explain the relationship between Christian ethics and marriage. Data collection techniques through literature study from various sources in the form of books and journals. Christian ethics emphasizes the importance of maintaining purity in marriage according to God's commandments stated in Malachi 2: 15-16. In this context, marriage is seen as a sacred bond that cannot be broken by humans, and Christians are obliged to avoid adultery and divorce.
