Abstract

Penerapan teknologi tepat guna pengolahan limbah kelapa muda sebagai media pupuk organik kelapa sawit di Kabupaten Bangka, merupakan kegiatan pengabdian dosen dan mahasiswa dengan melibatkan mitra, yaitu masyarakat yang peduli akan lingkungan dan aktif dalam pengembangan dan budidaya kelapa sawit di Kabupaten Bangka. Permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra adalah sulitnya mendapatkan pupuk yang disebabkan karena mahalnya harga pupuk anorganik dipasaran dan berdampak pada pengurangan hasil panen buah sawit. Selain itu, limbah kelapa muda jumlahnya sangat besar, apalagi dikala bulan puasa. Ini menjadi masalah tersendiri karena berpotensi menyebabkan terjadinya pencemaran lingkungan dan menjadi sarang penyakit. Limbah kelamud ternyata bisa digunakan menjadi bahan baku pembuatan pupuk organik bagi tanaman kelapa sawit. Saat ini proses pengolahan limbah kelamut masih dilakukan dengan cara manual menggunakan parang. Untuk dapat memecahkan masalah Mitra tersebut, maka kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan berupa pemberian bantuan penerapan TTG dalam pengolahan limbah kelamud serta pemberian pelatihan berupa cara pengoperasian dan perawatan mesin pengolah limbah kelamud dalam bentuk ceramah, diskusi, praktek dan introduksi mesin pencacah limbah kelamud untuk dijadikan bahan baku pupuk organik. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini nantinya diharapkan mitra mampu membuat pupuk organik dengan memanfaatkan limbah kelamud dan juga dapat mengurangi limbah kelamud yang tidak bermanfaat yang dapat menimbulkan berbagai penyakit. Hasil dari kegiatan ini mampu membantu IKM mengatasi persoalan pengolahan limbah kelamud menjadi lebih cepat dan efektif dengan kapasitasnya 201,04 Kg/jam sehingga mempercepat Proses pembuatan pupuk organik bagi tanaman kelapa sawit.

Abstract

Increasing consumption of young coconuts (known as "Kelamud") is leading to a rise in the amount of waste generated by these coconuts. A group is using this waste as a raw material for the production of compost fertilizer for oil palm trees. However, the process is still performed manually by chopping waste with a machete of 15-20 mm thickness, which takes a considerable amount of time. This research aims to design and construct a machine for vertically chopping coconut waste. The proposed research method is a synthesis strategy that combines design concepts with the steps of clarifying and translating the client's desires. Then, these desires are incorporated into the machine design procedure by making selections, analyzing the interdependence and interrelationships between the selections, assessing trade-offs, and evaluating the outcomes of these selections. The final design of the Kelamud chopper machine consists of a motor with a 5.5 horsepower gasoline engine, a chopping system with a four-blade knife system, and a transmission system with pulleys and belts. Based on the results of the tests, the machine is capable of chopping waste from young coconuts with a capacity of 232.62 kg/hour in fibrous properties.

Abstract

Cell segmentation is a critical process in biomedical image analysis. This study evaluated the performance of three state-of-the-art deep learning models—DeepLabV3+, U-Net++, and Attention U-Net—using the Blood Cell Count and Detection (BCCD) dataset, which contains annotated images of blood cells. The models were rigorously analyzed through qualitative and quantitative evaluations, employing accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score metrics. The results demonstrated that all three models achieved high segmentation performance, with U-Net++ excelling in accuracy (0.9740), precision (0.9511), and F1 score (0.9576), Attention U-Net achieving the highest recall (0.9692), and DeepLabV3+ providing a balanced performance across all metrics. Qualitative analyses revealed that U-Net++ delivered superior segmentation of complex and overlapping cell structures, while Attention U-Net exhibited exceptional sensitivity to dense cell clusters. Training and validation curves of the models confirmed their stability and generalizability, indicating efficient convergence without overfitting. By highlighting the unique strengths of each model, this study emphasized the importance of selecting architectures tailored to specific tasks. Future research will expand the application of these models to diverse biomedical datasets to further advance automated image analysis and its impact on healthcare outcomes.

Abstract

Background: COVID-19 has significantly impacted education, resulting in low acceptance rates at universities in Taiwan and Indonesia. These low acceptance rates contribute to a shortage of human resources, which could have far-reaching consequences for the economy, education, health, and political stability. Nations with limited human capital may become dependent on foreign labor to meet their workforce needs, leading to local unemployment and heightened competition between local and foreign workers. Therefore, investing heavily in education and training is crucial. Objective: To address this issue, community services have been conducted in Indonesia to provide students with information on scholarships and technical strategies. Method: The community services were organized in several steps, including preparation, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Results: The effectiveness of the event was assessed through pre-test and post-test questionnaires. Conclusion: Through a series of scholarship webinars, it was observed that knowledge and awareness about scholarships increased, providing students with greater opportunities for securing scholarships.

Abstract

This paper presents a novel direct control strategy using a polynomial fuzzy neural network-based adaptive fractional order proportional integral derivative (PFNN-AFOPID) controller for nonlinear and time-varying systems. The proposed approach integrates the enhanced flexibility of fractional order calculus PID with the superior nonlinear approximation capabilities of polynomial fuzzy models, enabling dynamic adjustment of all control parameters without requiring precise mathematical modeling of system dynamics. By extending traditional PID control with fractional-order operations, the controller achieves improved frequency response and robustness against disturbances. Experimental validation on a DC motor position control system demonstrates significant performance improvements. Compared to traditional PID, the proposed PFNN-AFOPID achieved a performance improvement of 53.69% in RMSE, 78.56% in ISE, 69.92% in IAE, and 83.98% in ITAE. When compared to the existing fuzzy neural network-based adaptive PID (FNN-APID), our approach delivered improvements of 21.06% in RMSE, 28.79% in ISE, 5.69% in IAE, and 32.86% in ITAE. These results confirm the superior capability of the proposed approach in handling system nonlinearities while maintaining precise control under varying operational conditions, without requiring prior system dynamics knowledge or extensive offline training.
