Abstract

Artikel ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kondisi anak-anak di Paroki Santo Fransiskus Asisi Karot yang menampilkan sikap dan perilaku bertentangan dengan nilai-nilai luhur. Mereka kurang peduli pada lingkungan yang bersih dan sehat, kurang menjaga ketenangan, kurang menghargai dan menghormati sesama, kurang tahu bersyukur dan berterimakasih. Kondisi ini mempunyai dampak buruk untuk masa depan mereka dan menyebabkan mereka tidak memiliki karakter mulia. Padahal karakter mulia itu sangat diperlukan dalam interaksi di tengah masyarakat, di lingkungan sekolah, dan keluarga. Olehnya, artikel ini menawarkan kegiatan pengembangan Serikat Kepausan Anak Misioner di Paroki Santo Fransiskus Asisi dengan tujuan untuk menumbuhkan dan mengembangkan sikap dan perilaku mencintai lingkungan, menjaga ketenangan, menghargai dan mencintai sesama, bersyukur atas apa yang mereka terima dalam hidup. Mereka perlu dibina agar belajar hidup disiplin, tertib, dan santun. Metode kegiatan ini terdiri dari bercerita, berdoa, mendalami Kitab Suci, melaksanakan kegiatan bakti sosial, mengujungi panti asuhan, berpuisi, bernyanyi, menerapkan gerak dan tari. Hasilnya, kegiatan ini dinilai mampu membangun karakter anak di Paroki Karot

Abstract

The development of children into healthy individuals and having good characters is a challenge for educators at all times. Educators in families, schools, and communities have an important role in educating children's characters. This paper was written based on community service activities carried out at Carep Station, St. Michael Parish of Kumba, Ruteng. There was found the problem of the character of the children. There were children who are lack of basic trust, sense of independence, initiative, creativity, and perseverance; they suffered from inferiority complex, speak dirty words, do not behave properly during the liturgy in the Church; they do not have care for nature as a common home and have not fully understood the values of the Scriptures. Therefore, the activities of the Missionary Children's Apostolic Union were carried out to educate the values ​​of good character. The methods applied are prayer, reading and explaining the text of the Bible, dramatizing the story of the Bible, singing, dancing, drawing, the practice of cleaning the church and its surroundings as well as explanations about the equipment of the church. The result of the activities showed that the children were active and enthuastic to participate and are making progress in living values such as basic trust, initiative, creativity, and perseverence; they are more confident and polite; they start to love the natural environment and develop proper behavior during the liturgical celebration and appreciate the Word of God. This activity is recommended to be carried out on an ongoing basis for the children of the Carep station and children in other places

Abstract

Religious Education and Character Education are two important fields that function to shape the students. As important activities, both can offer solutions to problems faced by students. Both can also be the key to opening the deadlock for the actualization of their potential. This paper discusses efforts to educate the character of children through Catholic Religious Education in Elementary School. The discussion is based on the awareness that with good character children will grow and develop optimally. Children will be able to contribute to human civilization and the welfare of society. This paper is done by applying a literature study. The author studies literature about Catholic religious education in elementary schools and about character education. Specifically, the author examines the formulation of core competencies and basic competencies of Catholic Religious Education. The core competencies are divided into four aspects, namely the core competencies of spiritual attitudes, social attitudes, knowledge, and skills. The formulation of core competencies contains values ​​which according to the author are the same and in line with the values ​​of Character Education. These values ​​include religious values, honesty, courtesy, fairness, responsibility, respect, confidence, love of truth, logical, critical, creative, innovative, love of nation. These values ​​can be classified in moral knowledge, moral feelings, and moral conduct. Can also be grouped in the value of a relationship with God, with oneself, with others, and with nature. Similarly, it can be divided into individual, social, and moral values. The author concludes that Religious Education has a major contribution to the formation of children's character

Abstract

This study aims to describe the influence of the parish spiritual life toward students' interest in studying the Bible. This study used a quantitative approach. The research sample consisted of 332 high school students, both private and public, in the city of Ruteng, Manggarai Regency, which were taken using a proportional random technique. The data collection instrument used a closed questionnaire. The data analysis technique used Pearson Product Moment Correlation with SPSS version 23.0. The results of the data analysis showed that there was a correlation between parish spiritual life and an interest in studying the scriptures (r = 0.605). As a result, the parish spiritual life contributes 36.4% to the interest in studying the scriptures. Since the regression of biblical interest in parish spiritual life is linear, this relationship is predictable. So, more involvement in spiritual life in the parish means that students will be more interested in studying the scriptures if they spend more time there.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the opinions of basic education stakeholders regarding the fulfilment of national education standards in terms of school accreditation ratings. For this purpose, 307 stakeholders were involved (school principals, teachers, school committee members, and parents) from 43 elementary schools and 20 junior high schools in two sub-districts in Manggarai Regency, NTT. The method used was a cross-sectional survey. Data collection used a four-option (1-4) Likert scale questionnaire based on eight national education standards. The study results show that of the eight standards that stakeholders have assessed, two of them, namely the standards for teachers and standards for infrastructure, still need to be improved to the national standards. In addition, an analysis of the average differences using the Kruskal-Wallis Test analysis technique found differences in perceptions of achievement of the eight national education standards seen from the school's accreditation rating.

Abstract

The Pontifical Society of Missionary Children is a group prepared to accommodate children and involve them in the life of the church. It becomes a field of socialization and the growth of children in togetherness with others as well as an important means of character building. With the Pontifical Society of Missionary Children in various collective activities that are held regularly every week, the parish becomes more lively and colorful. In addition, The Pontifical Society of Missionary Children activities function to make children creative and full of joy in participating in celebrations in the parish. In the midst of the Covid-19 outbreak, all aspects of life have changed. These changes gave birth to good things, but not infrequently also brought negative things. One of the negative things that emerged from this change in situation was the lack of attention to the development of children's faith in the Church. These resulted in various problems in children such as children living in the midst of a natural and social environment that was less conducive, children less happy and less cheerful. Children became less discipline, less polite, less diligent in praying. In adition, children were passive in activities of faith celebration. We also found these problems in the children in the Cathedral parish of Ruteng. To overcome these problems, we have carried out The Pontifical Society of Missionary Children’s activities for seven meetings. The results of the activity show that there has been a change in the attitude of the child from negative to positive. Therefore, we recommend that this activity be continued and carried out in other places in order to foster healthy, intelligent and high-character children.

Abstract

Intolerance, radicalism, and violence towards groups with divergent ideas continue to be a concerning issue in Indonesia. One reason is that the religious education paradigm offered does not promote a mindset of religious pluralism. This study aims to examine the substance of religious pluralism education in Catholic Religious Education (PAK) designed for Senior High School (SMA/SMK) students following the 2013 Curriculum. This study employs a qualitative methodology, utilizing text analysis techniques. This study discovered that using PAK content significantly contributes to cultivating a religiously pluralistic mindset among students. The pluralistic content in the resources, objectives, competencies, procedures, and tasks for students enhances and reinforces the students' pluralist nature. If PAK is effectively developed, pupils have the potential to become individuals who embrace pluralism, engage in dialogue, and possess an open mindset. Intoleransi, radikalisme dan kekerasan terhadap kelompok yang memiliki keyakinan berbeda masih menjadi masalah memprihatinkan di Indonesia. Salah satu penyebabnya adalah karena model pendidikan agama yang diberikan tidak mendukung sikap pluralisme beragama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis muatan edukasi pluralisme beragama dalam Materi Pendidikan Agama Katolik (PAK) bagi siswa SMA/SMK Kurikulum 2013. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis teks. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa materi PAK memiliki edukasi yang kuat untuk membentuk sikap pluralisme agama bagi siswa. Hal ini ditemukan dalam materi, tujuan, kompetensi, proses dan penugasan bagi para siswa yang mengandung muatan pluralisme dan memperkuat karakter siswa yang pluralis. Jika PAK dikembangkan dengan baik maka siswa dapat menjadi insan yang pluralis, dialogal dan terbuka.

Abstract

This question to be answered in this study is ‘what are the forms and the motivation of the participation of children of the Karot Parish in the Eucharist’. The qualitative method is used by interviewing 12 children from the Karot parish. Data is reduced, presented, analyzed, discussed, and conclusions are drawn. The result showed that children had participated in the Eucharistic liturgy. They are involved as members of the choir, acolytes, lectors, conductors of choir, singing psalms, join in praying, singing and applying body gestures of standing and kneeling. The motivation of the participation are to experience the presence of God, to praise the Lord, to renew their life, to understand the Eucharist, to have friends, and to do what others do. The awareness to be involved is strongly supported by the organization of Missionary Apostolic Union of Children and Youth. Therefore we conclude that this study has obtained its aim to describe the forms and motivation of children in the Eucharist. Pertanyaan yang dijawab dalam studi ini adalah ‘manakah bentuk-bentuk dan motivasi partisipasi anak-anak Paroki Karot dalam perayaan Ekaristi’. Peneliti menerapkan metode kualitatif dengan mewawancarai 12 anak paroki Karot. Data hasil wawancara direduksi, disajikan, dianalisis, didiskusikan, dan disimpulkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa anak berpartisipasi dalam liturgi Ekaristi. Anakterlibat sebagai anggota koor, akolit, lektor, lektris, dirigen, pemazmur, ikut berdoa, bernyanyi dan menerapkan tata tubuh berdiri dan berlutut. Motivasi keterlibatan anakadalah hendak mengalami kehadiran Tuhan, bersyukur kepada Allah, membarui diri, mengenal Ekaristi, ingin memperoleh teman, sekadar ikut apa yang dikerjakan teman. Kesadaran anakdidukung oleh wadah Serikat Kerasulan Anak dan Remaja Misioner. Oleh karena itu kami simpulkan bahwa studi ini mencapai tujuannya menjelaskan partisipasi dan motivasi partisipasi anak dalam perayaan Ekaristi.

Abstract

Orang tua memiliki peran penting membentuk karakter anak. Permasalahan penelitian ini yaitu adanya orang tua yang kurang memahami tentang pentingnya pembentukan karakter anak dan adanya anak yang tidak memiliki karakter baik seperti bertutur kata kurang sopan, kurangnya rasa peduli, tidak jujur terhadap orang tua dan kurangnya rasa hormat pada yang lebih tua. Pertanyaan penelitian ini ialah bagaimana peran orang tua dalam pembentukan karakter anak di Komunitas Basis Gerejani (KBG) Santa Teresia Paroki Santo Petrus Colol. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan bagaimana peran orang tua dalam pembentukan karakter anak di KBG Santa Teresia. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan dengan metode wawancara terhadap 8 orang tua dan ketua KBG Santa Teresia. Data wawancara ini dianalisis menggunakan tiga langkah yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa orang tua berperan untuk membantu anak berpikir positif, berbuat baik, mampu bersaing, disiplin, taat aturan, sopan santun, memegang teguh nilai kemanusiaan, keagamaan, moral, sosial, dan nilai budaya, kritis dalam pergaulan dan penggunaan gadget, tegas, dan mandiri.
