Abstract

This study aims to describe and explain the functions and meanings of lingua unit forms of characters characterized by ideo-socio-biological. Data in this qualitative research is collected by ethnography method, refer to, and capability while to analyze data using an interactive model of Mills and Huberman assisted by distribution method. The results of this study show: the lingual form of kepus found in the stage of pre-planting, planting, and post-planting, namely ekoleksikon and ekowacana; function and meaning implied in the form of lingual rice field environment, ideological meaning: the hope of rice grows well, the hope of rice plants free from pests and disasters, the hope of abundant crops, the hope of surviving while working the fields, and the hope of welfare; sociological functions and meanings: relationships with gods, relationships with ancestors, relationships with the carers of the land, relationships with others, and relations to ulayat lands; and biological functions and meanings.

Abstract

This article is motivated by the increasing of covid-19's cases in Indonesia in general and the concern to society of Manggarai who are not wearing masks when they are outside the home, especially in public places such as markets, terminals, and shopping areas. The distribution of the masks for free also depends on the limitations of masks in the markets, and if there is still some stock, they are cost higher than normal prices. The distribution of those masks for free is done to build public awareness to overcome covid-19. This activity was on May 7, 2020 at Puni traditional market of Ruteng. The target of this activity were all people living around Puni Ruteng. The method used is the distribution of masks for free to all levels of the society, while hand sanitizer only distributed to the driver of public transportations which often did direct contact with the passengers every day. In addition to that, the team of PKM gives some explanation about how to wash hands by using hand sanitizer for health, how to wear a mask and the duration of time wearing masks. In this activity, each person has received 2 pieces of masks given by PKM's team so they can be replaced every day. The result of this activity can increase people's awareness of the importance of maintaining health, and tackling the spread of covid-19 in the district of Manggarai in general

Abstract

Argument as a type of rhetoric of language is absolutely necessary in constructing, maintaining, and concluding ideas. With the existence of a solid argument construction in the body of scientific articles, the validity and reliability of facts, data, and inferences can be arguably justified. In this regard, this study aims to describe the argumentative paragraph model of the argumentative paragraphs in Sinta indexed journal articles for the exact education family. In collecting data, the observation method is used. The listening method is applied through reading and note-taking techniques. In data analysis, researchers made use of content analysis methods. Through data analysis, it was found that in the exact science education Sinta indexed journal there are three argument models, namely (1) verbal classification arguments, (2) rules arguments, and (3) witness arguments. The verbal classification argument model found includes (1) fact / perception arguments and (2) consequence arguments. The rule argument model found consists of (1) public opinion arguments, (2) personal opinion arguments, and (4) causal relationship arguments. Meanwhile, the findings of the witness argument model are (1) expert opinion argument, (2) analogy argument, and (3) fact-hypothesis argument. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that Douglas Walton’s argument models have not been fully accommodated in Sinta indexed journal articles for the exact education family. The authors of the articles are advised to continue to improve their publications by utilizing Walton's argument models in the hope that the resulting articles can be justified argumentatively-scientifically.

Abstract

The present study aimed at exploring the abstracts of research articles written by non-native English researchers to uncover the specific characteristics of academic vocabulary employed in the English research articles abstracts.It focuses on frequency and coverage distribution of the words from the Academic Word List (Coxhead, 2000) in the abstracts of research articles. The source of data for this corpus study was gathered from 97 abstracts written by the EFL researchers and published by the Journal Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Missio at STKIP St. Paulus Ruteng from 2015 until 2018. The results of this study revealed that the coverage of K1, the first most frequent 1000 English words, is the most dominant lexical items applied by the researchers. It covered 71.33% of the texts. The representation of lexical items that belong to K2, the second most frequent 1000 English words, covered 5.44% of all the words used by the writers in their abstracts. Moreover, the presence of Academic Word List, which refers to a list of 570 word families that are commonly found in academic texts and Off-list, which refers to the words that do not belong to K1 or K2 because it is related to certain field, has slight difference over all of the texts where the former covers 11.95% and the later covers 11.26%. As far as the findings of the present study are concerned, the room for some improvements on academic words applied in the abstracts need to pay attention.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan struktur argumen paragraf argumentatif pada artikel jurnal terindeks Sinta rumpun pendidikan noneksakta. Kerangka teori yang digunakan adalah konsep argumen Douglas Walton. Sumber data penelitian ini kasuistik, dikumpulkan dari 5 (lima) jurnal terindeks Sinta rumpun pendidikan noneksakta di wilayah LLDIKTI VIII. Wujud data penelitian ini ialah paragraf-paragraf argumentatif yang diidentifikasi dari sumber data berdasarkan konsep dasar paragraf argumentatif. Dalam pengumpulan data, peneliti menggunakan metode simak, teknik baca dan catat. Teknik analisis data penelitian ini adalah teknik analisis konten. Dalam menerapkan teknik itu, peneliti melakukan inventarisasi, identifikasi, dan klasifikasi data. Data-data yang telah  dianalisis kemudian disajikan, diinterpretasi, dan dibahas secara informal. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data ditemukan bahwa struktur argumen paragraf argumentatif pada jurnal terindeks Sinta rumpun pendidikan nonesakta terdiri atas dua jenis, yaitu (1) struktur tunggal dan (2) struktur dua lapis. Dalam struktur tunggal, argumen yang dikonstruksi penulis terdiri atas argumen AS (APA) dan AKV (AP). Sementara itu, dalam struktur dua lapis argumen yang dibangun penulis terdiri atas AKV (AP)-AS (APH), AA (AHP)-AS (APP), dan AS (AFH)-AA (ATT).

Abstract

Background: Waerebo merupakan kampung destinasi wisata di Kabupaten Manggarai. Kampung tersebut memiliki nilai kearifan lokal yang tinggi, namun mengalami penggerusan akibat berkembangnya ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi. Dalam mempertahankan eksistensi kearifan lokal tersebut upaya internalisasi untuk menjaga kelestarian budaya masyarakat sebagai aset sejarah tanpa dipengaruhi oleh budaya asing (local jenius). Metode: Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Mitra kegiatan adalah masyarakat adat kampung Waerebo, peserta kegiatan difokuskan pada tetua adat seperti tu’a golo, tu’a teno, tu’a panga dan tu’a kilo. Pengabdian dilakukan dengan persiapan, pelaksanaan, pengelolaan dan hasil pengabdian. Pelaksanaan kegiatan dilakukan dengan sosialisasi, pembinaan, dan wawancara tentang internalisasi kearifan lokal masyarakat kampung adat Waerebo. Hasil: Hasil pendampingan terhadap masyarakat Tetua Adat selama kegiatan sosialisasi sangatlah baik. Temuan data PkM adalah (1) Sejarah kampung Waerebo, diantaranya: keturunan asli masyarakat Waerebo, asal mula penamaan desa Waerebo, (2) Keaslian budaya desa adat Waerebo, diantaranya: mbaru niang, kesenian, hubungan dengan Tuhan, leluhur, alam, sesama, dan makna go’et masyarakat Waerebo. Kesimpulan: Kegiatan sosialisasi terkait internalisasi nilai-nilai kearifan lokal mampu memberikan pendalaman makna terkait pentingnya mempertahankan keaslian adat kampung Waerebo.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the depth of meaning of poetry which has an intertextual relationship with other poetry works. The researcher used Abrams's structural approach to analyze the similarities and differences between the poems that were analyzed. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. Sources of data in this study are the poem "Munir Menenggak Racun" by Yoseph Yapi Taum in 2011 and the poem "Sajak Untuk Sebuah Nama (Cak Munir)" by Pramasta Said in 2014. The data are in the form of words, phrases, lines, stanzas, and rhythm related to the intertextual study of poetry. The data collection technique used was reading and note-taking techniques related to the intertextual study of the two poems. Data analysis in this study is a content analysis by comparing and equating the intertextuality of the two poetry texts. The results of this study reveal the similarity of the hypogram based on the analysis of the physical and mental structure of the poem. The hypograms of the two data sources in this study were found in the characterization elements, namely Munir, the figurative language hypogram, the imagery hypogram, the plot hypogram, the theme and mandate hypogram, and the cacophony variety hypogram. The two poems are ballad that reveal socio-political issues related to the death of Munir, a human rights activist. The final conclusion of the general hypogram of the two texts is found in the poem "Munir Menenggak Racun" by Yoseph Y.T. Meanwhile, the poem "Sajak Untuk Sebuah Nama (Cak Munir)" by Pramasta Said is the result of the transformation of the general hypogram text which has the same background in the creation process and describes the ethical social, and political problems that occur in Indonesia.

Abstract

Background: Berkembanganya IPTEK dan didukung oleh Era revolusi industri 4.0, dimanfaatkan oleh peserta didik untuk memudahkan memperoleh ilmu pengetahuan dan informasi dari media cetak maupun elektronik. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, kondisi ini menjadi tantangan baru seorang pendidik untuk memberikan pembelajaran yang inovatif dengan memanfaatkan kemajuan teknologi. Tujuan penelitian ini, memberikan informasi berupa prosedur dan langkah-langkah menghasilkan suatu buku digital demi menunjang kegiatan pembelajaran bagi pendidik dan peserta didik di jenjang SMK. Metode: metode yang digunakan pendekatan kebutuhan pengguna, yaitu pemberian pelatihan (workshop). Adapun, langkah-langkah dalam kegiatan, yaitu: (1) Penentuan lokasi mitra, (2) penentuan peserta pelatihan, (3) menggali informasi data awal, (4) menyusun materi  pelatihan, (5) mencetak materi latihan (6) merencanakan jadwal dan ruang pelatihan, (7)  pelaksanaan pelatihan, (8) mengevaluasi pelatihan, (9) mencetak sertifikat yang akan dibagikan serta (10) menyusun laporan akhir pelatihan.. Hasil: guru di SMK Elanus mampu menghasilkan e-book ajar yang baik. Dibuktikan dengan adanya 18 e-book yang terkumpul dan peserta sangat berterima kasih dengan pelatihan yang sudah dilaksanakan Kesimpulan: Pelatihan ini membawa pengaruh positif dan keterampilan yang baik dari para guru di SMK Elanus Ruteng.

Abstract

Masyarakat manggarai adalah masyarakat yang ekologis untuk itu agar konsep ideo-sosio-biologis khususnya dalam ekoleksikon kepadiannya tetap terjaga maka perlu adanya keterwarisan pada generasi berikutnya. Salah satunya adalah pada generasi muda. Untuk mengetahui bahwa konsep-ideo-sosio-biologinya terwarisi pada generasi berikutnya dilakukan dengan cara menguji pemahaman generasi mudanya. Untuk itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap ekoleksikon kepadian bahasa Manggarai. Teori teori ekolonguistik model dialog. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Universitas katolik Santu Paulus Ruteng. Sedangkan sampel dalam penelitian dilakukan dengan teknik probaliti sampling yang dilakukan dengan simple random sampling. Selanjutnya data dikumpulkan dengan metode simak bebas libat cakap dengan tekni lanjutan dokumentasi dan angket. Sedangkan instrument penelitiannya sejalan dengan pengumpulan datanya, yakni angket.  Data yang terkumpul selanjutnya dianalisis dengan perhitungan statistik dan deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjuka bahwa pemahaman ekoleksikon kepadian bahasa Manggarai pada Mahasiswa Univeristas katolik Santu Paulus ruteng sangat tinggi hal ini terbukti dari hasil persentase setiap alternative jawaban instrument, yakni 66,5%  tahu ekoleksikon kepadian, 11,7%  pernah dengar ekoleksikon kepadian, 17,1 tidak tahu leksikon kepadian, dan 4,78 tidak pernah mendengar ekoleksikon kepadian yang disebutkan dalam instrument. Adanya perbedaan pemahaman disebabkan oleh letak tempat tinggal yang dekat atau jauh dari ekologi kepadian, keterlibatan dalam proses di ekologi kepadian, terjaganya ekologi kepadian dan sikap bahasa.

Abstract

Self-efficacy is an essential factor in the learning process of a student. Self-efficacy is the belief in their skills to complete tasks or achieve targets. Many studies on self-efficacy have been carried out, but there are still few that examine the self-efficacy of junior high school students and how gender influences it. Therefore, it is crucial to examine the self-efficacy of junior high school students and investigate differences in student self-efficacy by gender. Data were collected from research respondents of 168 students, with 95 female and 73 male students. This research adopted a quantitative design as data were collected from questionnaires. Results show that in general students' self-efficacy is in the high category. In addition, students' self-efficacy in terms of gender, male and female students both have high self-efficacy.Furthermore, the results of the ANOVA test showed that there was a significant difference between the self-efficacy of female and male students. The average self-efficacy of female students is higher than male students. Studies show that even though male and female students have high self-efficacy, there are still students who have low or even very low self-efficacy. Therefore, it is highly recommended that schools provide bombing and counseling services for these students.
