Abstract

Abstract: Pragmatic Topics Contribution for Indonesian Language in College.  This article is concerned with the description of pragmatic topics. Each  topic has contribution toward the learning of Indonesian language in higher education. Studies  on  the previous relevant publications  emphasized mainly on  context. The discussion deals with  the nature of pragmatics based on the references. Accordingly, pragmatics  covers more specifically such topics as speech act, cooperative principle, pre-supposition and politeness. The analysis of each topic was followed by those contributions in learning Indonesia language. The results of analysis show that the pragmatic topics are relevant to learning when integrated in listening, speaking, reading and writing skill. Therefore, the ultimate goal of learning Indonesian language is achieved through  the students’ communicative competence.                                                                                                                                   Key words: pragmatics, Indonesian language, higher education, skill, communicative competence            Abstrak: Kontribusi Topik-topik Pragmatik untuk Bahasa Indonesia di Perguruan Tinggi. Artikel ini mendeskripsikan topik-topik pragmatik. Setiap topik memiliki kontribusinya untuk pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia di perguruan tinggi. Telaah terhadap publikasi-publikasi terdahulu yang relevan diletakkan sebagai konteks masalah. Pembahasan meliputi hakikat pragmatik yang didasarkan pada referensi-referensi. Selanjutnya, topik-topik pragmatik yang meliputi tindak tutur, prinsip kerja sama, praanggapan, dan kesantunan berbahasa diuraikan. Uraian setiap topik disusul langsung dengan kontribusinya dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia. Hasil analisis menggambarkan bahwa topik-topik pragmatik relevan untuk pembelajaran bila diintegrasikan dalam keterampilan menyimak, berbicara, membaca, dan menulis. Dengan itu, tujuan akhir pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia tercapai, yaitu mahasiswa memiliki kompetensi komunikatif.                                                      Kata kunci: pragmatik, Bahasa Indonesia, perguruan tinggi, keterampilan, kompetensi komunikatif

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memerikan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal dalam tradisi lisan Takanab berdasarkan perspektif ekolinguistik. Perspektif ekolinguistik didukung dengan studi etnografi komunikasi. Data penelitian ini dikumpulkan menggunakan metode simak, teknik catat (linguistik). Metode dan teknik itu dipadukan dengan metode percakapan etnografis, teknik rekam (etnografi). Dalam analisis data digunakan metode padan ekstralingual, teknik analisis kontekstual. Berdasarkan analisis data diperoleh hasil bahwa kearifan lokal dalam tradisi lisan Takanab termanifestasi melalui kearifan local berwujud nyata (tangible) berupa batu dan air, kain tenun motif, dan rumah adat; juga melalui kearifan lokal tidak berwujud nyata (intangible) berupa bidal, perumpamaan, petuah, dan syair.  Setiap wujud kearifan lokal itu memanifestasikan nilai-nilai luhur yang mencerminkan penghayatan budaya kolektif masyarakat Dawan.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the cultural significance of parallel elements in Takanab customary speech. Takanab customary speech, in fact, is one manifestation of ritual communication in the Dawan community in Timor, East Nusa Tenggara. This type of traditional speech is unique because in it elements of language are presented in pairs (parallel), both between one word with another word in one line or between one line with another line in one stanza. Data collection is done by using the method of listening (linguistics) and ethnographic conversation (communication ethnography). Both methods are applied through record and note techniques. The data analysis method of this research is the extralingual equivalent method. Data analysis technique used is contextual analysis technique. Based on the data analysis, the results show that the cultural meaning in parallel lines in the Takanab traditional speech is the performance of ritual communication in the Dawan community environment which contains mutual cultural significance, socio-historical cultural meaning, cultural significance of religious life appreciation, and cultural meaning of reconciliation. The most parallel cultural meaning with the Takanab customary speech is the meaning of mutual cooperation and the cultural meaning of living religious life (religiosity).

Abstract

This research was begun by basic question, “Is it true that past patriarchal society in NTT created their mindset that women are destined to have a feminine character within themselves?” By then, this study aims to describe the comparison of masculine characters and feminine characters of female figures found in NTT fairytales. The data sources of this research are 9 (nine) local fairytales of NTT which figured out a female figure as the main character. The technique of collecting the data was adopted by researchers through literature study. The data analysis includes the stages of reading, identifying, classifying, interpreting, and presenting the results of analysis. The results showed that the grouping of masculine and feminine characters displayed in fairy tales is very biased. The lines of character identification that exist for men and women are broad, not strict. The data in fairy tales that show masculine characters in female figure is 69%, while the data showing feminine characters is 31%. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that women, in NTT fairytales, are described as possessing a masculinity. In many ways, female characters are depicted as the same characteristics as men, such as achievement, relationship, independence, courage, and resistance to oppression.

Abstract

Abstrak Dalam konstuksi sebuah wacana senantiasa terdapat unsur bahasa yang dilesapkan atau dihilangkan penulisnya. Unsur bahasa yang dilesapkan itu bisa berupa kata, frasa, atau klausa yang menduduki fungsi sintaksis tertentu. Kajian tentang pelesapan unsur bahasa Indonesia dianggap urgen mengingat hingga saat ini pola pelesapan bahasa Indonesia belum banyak diwacanakan di dalam kajian-kajian kebahasaan, juga belum dibakukan di dalam tata bahasa baku bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pola pelesapan unsur bahasa Indonesia, sebuah studi kasus pada kolom opini Kompas. Pengumpulan data penelitian ini memanfaatkan metode simak yang diterapkan melalui teknik baca dan catat. Dalam analisis data digunakan metode analisis konten yang diterapkan melalui beberapa langkah, yakni inventarisasi, identifikasi, klasifikasi, dan deskripsi data. Hasil penelitian ini dideskripsikan sebagaimana berikut. Pertama, dalam kolom opini Kompas ditemukan pola pelesapan berupa kategori. Pada tataran kategori ditemukan pola pelesapan berupa nomina dan verba yang dilesapkan secara kataforis dan anaforis. Kedua, dalam kolom opini Kompas ditemukan juga pola pelesapan pada kalimat koordinatif berupa (1) pelesapan subjek, (2) pelesapan subjek sekaligus predikat, dan (3) pelesapan objek. Ketiga, dalam kolom opini Kompas disibak bahwa pola pelesapan unsur bahasa pada kalimat subordinatif berupa (1) pelesapan subjek pada klausa anak dan (2) pelesapan subjek pada klausa induk. Dalam kasus tertentu, pelesapan pada kalimat subordinatif bersifat lebih kompleks, yakni terjadinya pelesapan subjek pada induk dan anak kalimat, juga pelesapan subjek dan predikat pada anak-anak kalimat. Abstract In the construction of a discourse, there is always an element of language that the author erases or removes. The language elements that are applied can be words, phrases, or clauses that occupy certain syntactic functions. The study of the immersion of elements of the Indonesian language is considered urgent considering that until now the pattern of immersion in Indonesian has not been much discussed in linguistic studies, nor has it been standardized in the standard grammar of the Indonesian language. This study aims to describe the pattern of impregnation of Indonesian elements, a case study in the Kompas opinion column. The data collection of this research utilizes the observation method which is applied through reading and note-taking techniques. In data analysis, the content analysis method is used which is applied through several steps, namely inventory, identification, classification, and data description. The results of this study are described as follows. First, in the Kompas opinion column found a pattern of infiltration in the form of categories. At the category level, there is a pattern of penetration in the form of nouns and verbs which are applied cataphorically and anaphorically. Second, in the opinion column of Kompas, there are also patterns of infiltration in coordinative sentences in the form of (1) subject infiltration, (2) subject as well as predicate infiltration, and (3) object penetration. Third, in the opinion column of Kompas, it is revealed that the pattern of embracing language elements in subordinative sentences is in the form of (1) immersion of the subject in the child clause and (2) penetrating the subject in the parent clause. In certain cases, the impingement of subordinate sentences is more complex, namely the occurrence of the subject and the predicate to the subordinate sentences.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini dilaksanakan di Biara Santo Yosep Pagal, Desa Nenu, Kecamatan Cibal, Kabupaten Manggarai. Tujuan PkM ini adalah untuk menyusun kurikulum Bahasa Indonesia bagi lembaga pendidikan nonformal Postulat OFM Pagal. Dalam melaksanakan PkM ini digunakan beberapa metode, yakni studi dokumen, wawancara, dan kuesioner. Studi dokumen digunakan untuk mengkaji dokumen-dokumen tarekat OFM dan dokumen-dokumen resmi Negara yang berkaitan dengan penyusunan dan pengembangan kurikulum, khususnya kurikulum Bahasa Indonesia. Wawancara digunakan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan pembelajar. Kuesioner dimanfaatkan untuk menggali informasi mengenai ragam kebutuhan pembelajar. Target utama PkM ini ialah produk kurikulum bahasa Indonesia yang bermutu dan aplikatif untuk lembaga pendidikan nonformal Postulat OFM Pagal. Kegiatan PkM ini menghasilkan 5 (lima) komponen kurikulum bahasa Indonesia untuk Postulat OFM Pagal, yakni (1) profil lulusan, (2) bahan kajian, (3) struktur kurikulum, (4) distribusi kompetensi mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia, (5) silabus dan RPS, dan (6) sistem penilaian.

Abstract

This article is motivated by the increasing of covid-19's cases in Indonesia in general and the concern to society of Manggarai who are not wearing masks when they are outside the home, especially in public places such as markets, terminals, and shopping areas. The distribution of the masks for free also depends on the limitations of masks in the markets, and if there is still some stock, they are cost higher than normal prices. The distribution of those masks for free is done to build public awareness to overcome covid-19. This activity was on May 7, 2020 at Puni traditional market of Ruteng. The target of this activity were all people living around Puni Ruteng. The method used is the distribution of masks for free to all levels of the society, while hand sanitizer only distributed to the driver of public transportations which often did direct contact with the passengers every day. In addition to that, the team of PKM gives some explanation about how to wash hands by using hand sanitizer for health, how to wear a mask and the duration of time wearing masks. In this activity, each person has received 2 pieces of masks given by PKM's team so they can be replaced every day. The result of this activity can increase people's awareness of the importance of maintaining health, and tackling the spread of covid-19 in the district of Manggarai in general

Abstract

Argument as a type of rhetoric of language is absolutely necessary in constructing, maintaining, and concluding ideas. With the existence of a solid argument construction in the body of scientific articles, the validity and reliability of facts, data, and inferences can be arguably justified. In this regard, this study aims to describe the argumentative paragraph model of the argumentative paragraphs in Sinta indexed journal articles for the exact education family. In collecting data, the observation method is used. The listening method is applied through reading and note-taking techniques. In data analysis, researchers made use of content analysis methods. Through data analysis, it was found that in the exact science education Sinta indexed journal there are three argument models, namely (1) verbal classification arguments, (2) rules arguments, and (3) witness arguments. The verbal classification argument model found includes (1) fact / perception arguments and (2) consequence arguments. The rule argument model found consists of (1) public opinion arguments, (2) personal opinion arguments, and (4) causal relationship arguments. Meanwhile, the findings of the witness argument model are (1) expert opinion argument, (2) analogy argument, and (3) fact-hypothesis argument. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that Douglas Walton’s argument models have not been fully accommodated in Sinta indexed journal articles for the exact education family. The authors of the articles are advised to continue to improve their publications by utilizing Walton's argument models in the hope that the resulting articles can be justified argumentatively-scientifically.

Abstract

Abstrak-Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan wujud dan makna ideologi yang terkandung dalam wacana buku pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia untuk siswa SMA/MA Kelas X terbitan Kemdikbud edisi 2017. Metode pengumpulan data penelitian ini ialah metode simak. Dalam metode simak, peneliti menerapkan teknik teknik baca dan catat. Analisis isi digunakan sebagai metode analisis data. Dalam menerapkan metode tersebut, peneliti mengidentitifikasi, mengklasifikasi, menginterpretasi, dan menyimpulkan hasil analisis data. Pada tahap identifikasi data, peneliti (1) menentukan teks-teks nonfiksi pada buku pelajaran, (2) membaca intensif setiap teks yang telah ditentukan, dan (3) mengutip bagian-bagian dari setiap teks yang disinyalisasi mengandung muatan ideologi. Pada tahap klasifikasi data, peneliti (1) mengelompokkan data-data menurut jenis ideologi dan (2) menginventarisasi wujud dan makna ideologi. Selanjutnya, pada tahap interpretasi data, peneliti (1) memaknai dan membahas setiap wujud dan makna ideologi dan (2) merefleksikan secara kritis setiap wujud dan makna ideologi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data ditemukan 3 (tiga) wujud ideologi, yakni (1) nasionalisme, (2) patriotisme, dan (3) liberalisme.  Berdasarkan wujud-wujud ideologi tersebut dapat diidentifikasi beberapa makna, yakni (1) ketuhanan (religiostitas), (2) persatuan dan kesatuan, (3) pendidikan dan politik, (4) kemanusiaan dan peradaban, (5) musyawarah untuk mufakat, dan (6) makna keadilan sosial.
