Abstract

Gowa. AbstractThis study aims to determine the mathematical communication ability of students who use card-assisted questions method and make a match method. This type of research is a quasi-experimental research with nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The population in this study were all VII grade students of SMPN 4 Sungguminasa, Gowa Regency with 351 students and a total sample of 64 students with purposive sampling techniques. The instrument used in this study was a test consisting of pre-test and post-test and non-test that is observation sheet. Based on the data analysis results that average the value of students’ mathematical communication skills who were taught using the card-assisted questions was 86.84 in the medium category and those who taught using make a match method were 77.78 in the medium category. The results of inferential statistical analysis that there is a significant difference between the mathematical communication abilities of students who use card-assisted questions and using the make a match method in class VII of SMPN 4 Sungguminasa, Gowa Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the dynamics of interdependence between sharia assets, namely the Indonesian Sharia Stock Index (ISSI) and sukuk, with Indonesian macroeconomic variables using the Vector Autoregression (VAR) approach. The macroeconomic variables analyzed include the BI exchange rate, BI Rate, inflation, export value, money supply (M2), gold price, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil price, and the Industrial Production Index (IPI). The data used is a monthly time series for the period July 2011–December 2024 with a sample of 160 observations. The results of the stability test indicate that the VAR(1) model used is stable and suitable for further analysis. The Granger causality test indicates that most variables do not have a significant causal relationship, except for the exchange rate (KURS) which is proven to affect almost all other variables. The Impulse Response Function (IRF) test shows that most shocks to the ISSI, inflation, M2, gold, and WTI variables do not generate significant responses to other variables, while sukuk shows a positive response to shocks from the BI Rate, KURS, and IPI in the short term These findings emphasize the importance of strengthening Islamic financial instruments and exchange rate stability in supporting the integration of Islamic financial markets with the national macroeconomic system.

Abstract

Islamic civilization has developed dynamically and continuously interacted with local cultures through a selective process of acculturation. In Indonesia, particularly in South Sulawesi, the tradition of mappatabe'-which involves saying “tabe'” while slightly bowing as a sign of respect toward elders-represents a clear example of the integration between local culture and Islamic values. Nevertheless, this practice has generated fiqh-related debates concerning the limits of human respect so that it does not resemble acts of worship such as rukūʿ or sujūd, which are exclusively devoted to Allah SWT. This study aims to examine and analyze the perspectives of the four Sunni schools of Islamic jurisprudence Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi‘i, and Hanbali) regarding the mappatabe' tradition as a local cultural practice within the framework of Islamic law. The research employs a library-based qualitative method with a normative-fiqh approach, supported by ex post facto and descriptive methods to explore causal relations and to describe the practice of mappatabe' in its social and legal contexts. Data were collected from primary sources, including the Qur'an, the Prophet's hadiths, classical fiqh texts of the four schools, works of contemporary scholars, and relevant religious fatwas, complemented by secondary sources such as academic books and scholarly journal articles. The findings indicate that the mappatabe' tradition is fundamentally permissible as long as it is understood as a form of social etiquette and respect, does not involve elements of servitude or worship, does not resemble the physical acts of rukuʿ or sujud, and does not promote discrimination among individuals. Therefore, mappatabe' can be regarded as a form of cultural acculturation that aligns with the principles of Islamic law and reflects noble moral values in social life.
