Abstract

Observations conducted by researchers in one of class VII showed that the ability of students' understanding in the class is still minus. Whereas in KTSP 2013 mentioned that mathematical understanding is one of the basic competencies that must be owned and developed by students in learning mathematics. Based on the problem, the research was conducted by implementing constructivism model of learning in mathematics learning. Constructivism is one of the learning model where the students are actively mentally build their own knowledge based on the cognitive structure they have. This study is a classroom action research (PTK) carried out at SMPN 1 Lebakwangi. To obtain data in this study, the instruments used are the ability of comprehension test, observation sheet and student response questionnaire. Tests are tested with validity, reliability of difficulty levels and distinguishing power. The collected data is analyzed descriptively and quantitatively. Through the test obtained at each end of the cycle obtained the results of cycle I 45.75%, cycle II 65, 71%, and cycle III 85, 71%. From the results of this study also shows that learning mathematics with constructivism learning model can improve students' understanding ability. The best improvement is achieved on the aspect of the ability to transform a form of representation to another and the ability to recognize the various meanings and interpretations of concepts. This is seen from the calculation of the gain index is 0.29 with the medium category. Besides from result of questionnaire of student response showed positive response from student at learning by using constructivism learning model. This is seen from the results of the questionnaire calculation with the majority of students answered the response agreed 46, 38%.

Abstract

This research presents the findings of a study on the use of learning mathematics by using model Missouri Mathematics Project to increase students' mathematical reasoning abilities. The study involved an experimental class and control class is taken from the eighth grade at SMP Negeri 1 Cimahi in the second semester of the academic year 2015-2016. Research using essay test instruments to evaluate students' mathematical reasoning abilitiy and use students' responses to determine the students' response to learning that is used. To compare the ability of the two classes, the researchers used one-way t test for two independent samples. While to analyze the hypothesis concerning the gain classroom experiments, the researchers used one sample t test. From the results of the pretest known that the mean score of control class of mathematical reasoning is 13,25 while the experimental class is 12,30. Through t test on the value of the note that the value tcount = -0,51. While the degree of freedom df = 5% and 56 known ttable = 2,0042 From both these data we know that - 2,0042

Abstract

the application of the method of Experiential Learning to increased Ability of JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL students ' Mathematical Connections. This research aims to study the mathematical connection capacity of students who get the experiential learning with learning methods that get the conventional learning. This research is a research quasi experimental design. The results of the initial test data analysis retrieved tarithmetic t = -1.49 and ttabbel = 2.0252. because -2.0252 < -1.49 < 2,0252 or -ttabble < tarithmetic < ttabble, so the ability of mathematical connections both classes before the second treatment given in the same class are the same. While the analysis of tests late retrieved Uarithmetic = 226.5 and Utabbel are U(20)(20) = 138, because 226.5 > 138 or Uarithmetic > Utabble percentage, and average student response towards the learning of 33.2% this means that almost half of the students give experential learning method in response to learning in mathematics. A comparative analysis of the average score gains with N-Test-U earned Uarithmetic = 410 and U of the table is U(20)(20) = 138. Because Uarithmetic > Utabble or 410 > 138, then there is an increased ability of mathematical connection that uses the experiential learning learning better from the ability of mathematical connections that use conventional learning

Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) whether the spatial ability of students who use mathematical learning-assisted software Cabri 3D is better than students who use conventional learning (2) How improvement of spatial ability students who study mathematics aided software Cabri 3D (3) How is the response students towards mathematics assisted Cabri 3D software. This experimental study conducted at MTs Sindangsari in the second half for the academic year 2015/2016 with the draft nonequivalent control group design. The population in this study were all students of class VIII MTs Sindangsari. Sampling was done by using sampling techniques purposipe. From the selected sample, one class into a class experiment, ie classes given mathematics learning assisted software Cabri 3D and one class as the control class, the classes given conventional learning. Measurement of spatial ability tests performed using an instrument shaped spatial abilities test description. This instrument has qualified the validity and reliability of the instrument. The results showed (1) spatial ability of students who use mathematical learning-assisted software Cabri 3D is better than students who use conventional learning, it is based on test results mean difference using the U test which showed z count > z table (2) Improved spatial ability of students to use mathematics learning aided software Cabri 3D is better than students who use conventional learning, it is based on test results mean difference score n-gain using the t’ test that show

Abstract

Mathematic learning problem occur by students because there are learning obstacle in student self. The obstacle is based on didactical obstacle is the less teacher competence in managing dan preparing of learning process and epistimological obstacle, that is beginning knowledge student which can’t be applied in another condition. Therefore, this didactical design research is used as effort to exceed learning obstacle which is felt by student. This research is didactical design research with descriptive quality method use design research is Didactical Design Research (DDR). Data collecting method for this research is question, interview, literature study, and observation. This research held in MTsN Model Cigugur Kuningan at class VII.1 and VII.3. From this research carried out some learning obstacle are 1) epistimological obstacle because student mistake in operating algebra operation and difficulty in intrepreting story problem to model and applied mathematic form, 2) ontogenikal obstacle because the limitedness student in abstract thinking 3) didactical obstacle because the teacher jus using teacher center approach

Abstract

This study aims to examine in depth the improvement of mathematical problem solving abilities of students who take part in learning through the REACT strategy. The research method chosen was quasi-experimental research with a non-equivalent control group design. In this experimental design there were two groups of samples, the pretest, the different treatments, and the presence of posttest. The data obtained during the study were analyzed using SPSS 19 software to obtain a conclusion. After analyzing the data, it was concluded that an increase in students 'mathematical problem solving abilities whose learning through the REACT strategy was better than the improvement of students' mathematical problem solving abilities in conventional learning

Abstract

Discrete mathematics is one of the basic theories that supports computer science. Meanwhile, students of the Faculty of Computer Science generally still think that discrete mathematics is a parallelized subject of computer science, so that the majority of students' mathematical problem solving abilities have not optimal. To change this reality, we need an innovation in lectures, one of which is to apply problem-based learning. This study aims to find out whether the increase in mathematical problem solving abilities of students who get based learning different problems with students who get conventional learning. The population in this study were students of the Information Systems study program at Indonesia, which is of the same level as the Faculty Information System study program University of Subang Computer Science when viewed from the value of BAN-PT accreditation, and The sample in this study were students of the Information Systems study program The Faculty of Computer Science, University of Subang, which took the Mathematics course Discrete (compulsory courses given in semester II). This research was conducted of two groups, namely the experimental group and the control group. Group the experiment is a group of students who get based learning problem while the control group is a group of students who are taught with conventional learning. The research design is in the form of a Pre-test Post-test Control Group Design. Research data was collected through tests. Results this research is (1) improvement of mathematical problem solving abilities students who get lectures with problem-based learning approaches are different from mathematical problem solving abilities of students who get conventional learning

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know which ability of creative thinking of mathematic learners better between using Problem Based Learning (PBL) model and Discovery Learning (DL) model. The research method used is experimental research method. Based on the results of research and data analysis, researchers then use the Mann-Whitney Test (U) to examine differences in learning outcomes. From the calculation results obtained value of U = 427,5. Since there are several twin numbers then correction of standard deviation is then used to find the value of z. The value of U is first converted to z value because the research zhitung = 2,93 while ztabel at a significant level of 0,05 is 1,96. When consulted in table z, the z-value is outside the reception area H0. This is because the test used is a one-party test with acceptance criteria is accept H0 if and reject H0 in other situations. As we know that the value of zhitung > z0,475 then accept H1, that is there are differences in the ability of creative thinking mathematic learners using Problem Based Learning model using Discovery Learning model.Student's response to Problem Based Learning model is quite good. If we accumulate 52,6% student answer show response strongly agree and agree that we can translate as positive response, 19,78% neutral response and the rest only 27,61% student disagree and strongly disagree what we mean as negative response.

Abstract

Mathematics is a branch of philosophy. Its development is influenced by the results of human thought, so that the progress of a civilization becomes an implication of the results of these thoughts. The coming of Islamic teachings through the Messenger of Allah as a messenger of Allah SWT had a huge impact on the Arabian people at that time. Even the development is expanding to Europe and Asia. The spread of Islamic teachings throughout the world, giving birth to reliable thinkers, became the forerunner of the development of science, including mathematics. This research, provides an overview of how mathematics developed, and applied to the progress of civilization at that time. In addition, the literature study of the concepts of chemistry has been compiled by Muslim mathematicians at that time. In this case, it focuses on how arithmetic is discussed by Muslim mathematicians al-Uqlidisi about the concept of arithmetic.

Abstract

When compared to reading and science skills, Indonesian students' numeracy skills always receive the lowest average scores. On the PISA test, 71% of students do not meet the minimum numeracy competency level. Because education and technological advancement are inseparable, a technology-based initiative that can improve students' numeracy skills is required. The creation of an e-learning numeracy application known as "E-learningNumeration," which is anticipated to offer a substitute for enhancing students' numeracy abilities. The purpose of this study is to ascertain whether the developed E-learningNumeration application is reliable, efficient, and applicable for assisting students in developing their mathematical numeracy skills. The students in class VIII at SMP IT Najib Rasyid served as the study's subjects. In this study, one type of R&D research method is the Software Development Life Cycle with a prototyping approach model. The Independent Samples Test analysis reveals that the E-learningNumeration application is effective in improving students' mathematical numeracy, as evidenced by the sig. value (2-tailed) Equal variances assumed to be 0.016  0.05. The developed application is deemed valid and usable. With an average score of 77.50 on the student questionnaire, the E-learning Numeracy application is also said to be useful. This study suggests that the E-learning Numeracy application should assist students in improving their numeracy skills.Kemampuan berhitung siswa Indonesia secara konsisten memperoleh hasil rata-rata terendah jika dibandingkan dengan kemampuan membaca dan sains mereka. Sekitar 71% siswa gagal memenuhi tingkat kemahiran minimal dalam berhitung sebagaimana dinilai oleh ujian PISA. Korelasi antara pendidikan dan kemajuan teknologi tidak dapat disangkal. Oleh karena itu, sangat penting untuk menggunakan pendekatan berbasis teknologi untuk meningkatkan kemahiran berhitung siswa. Tujuannya adalah untuk membuat aplikasi e-learning berhitung yang disebut "E-learningNumeration" yang akan berfungsi sebagai metode alternatif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berhitung siswa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menilai validitas, efikasi, dan kepraktisan aplikasi E-learningNumeration dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berhitung matematika siswa. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari siswa kelas delapan di SMP IT Najib Rasyid. Penelitian ini memanfaatkan Software Development Life Cycle dengan model pendekatan prototyping, yang merupakan teknik penelitian di bidang R&D. Program E-learningNumeration yang dirancang dinilai valid dan praktis untuk digunakan. Lebih jauh lagi, terbukti berhasil meningkatkan kemampuan berhitung matematika siswa, sebagaimana ditunjukkan oleh hasil analisis Independent Samples Test, di mana nilai signifikansi terlihat. (Bilateral) Asumsi varians yang sama terpenuhi pada tingkat signifikansi 0,016, yang lebih rendah dari ambang batas 0,05. Aplikasi E-learning Numeracy dinilai praktis, sebagaimana ditunjukkan oleh skor rata-rata 77,50 yang diperoleh dari evaluasi kuesioner siswa. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi E-learning Numeracy kemungkinan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berhitung siswa.
