Abstract

Masyarakat Indonesia menyediakan waktu untuk membaca rata-rata hanya 30-59 menit per hari, berbanding terbalik dengan negara maju yang rata-rata membaca dengan durasi mencapai 6-8 jam per hari. Tujuan pengabdian untuk menghidupkan budaya literasi di Masyarakat. Metode yang digunakan adalah penyuluhan dengan dua tahap. Pertama: tahap persiapan dengan melakukan survey, mencari tahu penyebab rendahnya literasi di masyarakat, serta menyusun program PKM terkait meningkatkan budaya literasi. Kedua: tahap pelaksanaan dengan melibatkan berbagai pihak yang dapat berpartisipasi dalam rangka menyukseskan kegiatan dan melakukan penyuluhan kepada masyarakat. Hasil pengabdian kepada masyarakat telah mampu meningkatkan kepedulian masyarakat terhadap budaya literasi terlihat dari antusias masyarakat mengikuti berbagai kegiatan yang diadakan peserta KPM . Budaya literasi perlu ditingkatkan dengan menghidupkan budaya literasi melalui penyuluhan kepada anak- anak dan pemuda desa.

Abstract

This quantitative research aimed to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and lecturer’s assertive behavior with foreign language anxiety experienced by university student. The population in this study was the students of the Department of English Education, State Institute for Islamic Studies Langsa. The samples were selected by using Stratified Random Sampling technique and sorted 147 students in semester 2, 4, and 6 that spread proportionally. The data were collected by using Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale (FLCAS), self-efficacy scale, and lecturer’s assertive behavior scale. The data, then, were analyzed by multivariate linear regression. The result showed that self-efficacy and lecturer’s assertive behavior significantly contributed to foreign language anxiety. The effective contribution of self-efficacy and lecturer’s assertive behavior to foreign language anxiety was 58,4%.

Abstract

Intergroup relations, especially between religiously affiliated groups, have always been a discussion that attracts the attention of scholars. However, research that highlights the efforts and processes of harmonisation between groups is still very limited to study, especially with regard to educational settings. By providing a different perspective on the discussion of most scholars, this article photographs the success of mudir (leader of Islamic educational institutions) in maintaining the existence of modern pesantren amid in-group favouritism biased traditional Islamic society in Lhoksukon, Aceh, Indonesia. By using a case-study approach, this study traced and collected data through in-depth interviews with several informants such as mudir, pesantren teachers, Imum Chik (religious leaders), and residents around Dayah Terpadu Al-Muslimun Lhoksukon, Aceh, Indonesia. The results of this study show that the conformity initiated by mudir, especially in symbols owned by the surrounding community, is able to reduce conflict between groups. In addition, mudir also involves figures with religious authority to be catalysts for harmony. The study also argues that intergroup biases in religious segmentation can be minimised by re-evaluating to find similarities in social identities between groups.

Abstract

Indonesia is one among many countries applies lockdown or large-scale social restriction in order to suppress transmission rates. The current study examines the impact of COVID-19 pandemic lockdown decision on sedentary behavior among adolescents in Indonesia. An online survey was administered to 255 adolescents on August until October. The online survey consists of questions on demographic information and Adolescence Sedentary Activity Questionnaire (ASAQ). Statistical analysis was performed to compare the difference between total hours spend on performing sedentary behavior before and after the pandemic. A paired sample t-test revealed there was a significant difference in total hours spend on performing sedentary behavior before and after the pandemic (t (254) = -12.8, p.001). Adolescence is performing more sedentary behavior after the pandemic (M=10.43, SD=3.11) compared to the time before the pandemic (M=8.68, SD=3.47). In conclusion, the covid-19 pandemic cause change on sedentary behavior where there were increase of the total hour adolescence spend on performing sedentary behavior, including a significant change in learning behavior.

Abstract

Seorang muslim harus mempelajari tentang thaharah, dikarenakan thaharah merupakan salah satu syarat kesahihan ibadah Shalat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman sekaligus praktik mensucikan lantai bernajis dan mensucikan pakaian bernajis dengan mesin cuci pada ibu rumah tangga di Desa Paya Bujuk Blang Pase Kota Langsa. Kegiatan dilakukan selama dua hari berturut-turut yaitu Sabtu dan Minggu ba’da Ashar hingga mendekati Maghrib yang dilaksanakan di salah satu rumah warga dan diikuti oleh 10 orang ibu rumah tangga. Adapun metode kegiatan yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah materi, praktik, dan tanya jawab dengan beberapa tahapan: pertama, membagikan masker agar kegiatan tetap berjalan sesuai dengan protokol kesehatan Covid-19. Kedua, pembukaan dan ceramah tentang urgensi thaharah dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Ketiga, melakukan praktik cara mensucikan najis yang ada di lantai dan  pakaian bernajis dengan mesin cuci. Keempat, sesi tanya jawab mengenai Thaharah sekaligus penutup. Kelima, makan bersama sebagai bentuk penyambung silaturahmi. Dari kegiatan ini menghasilkan bahwa pemahaman dan praktik ibu-ibu rumah tangga setempat tentang cara mensucikan najis dilantai dan pakaian menggunakan mesin cuci pada kategori baik 65% dan 35% kategori cukup baik. Berdasarkan hal ini menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pemahaman dan praktik mensucikan najis di lantai dan pakaian dengan mesin cuci melalui kegiatan pengabdian  masyarakat pada ibu rumah tangga di desa Paya Bujuk Blang Pase Kota langsa mencapai kategori baik.

Abstract

The use of social media due to the development of technology has implications for the tendency to know the activity in their social circle. This tendency is called Fear of Missing Out (FoMO). This study aims to determine the relationship between self-regulation and FoMO in emerging adulthood. By using quantitative correlational research methods, this study involved 99 students of Department of Psychology, Malikussaleh University, Aceh, Indonesia with an emerging adulthood age range. The data in this study was collected using two scales, namely Self-Regulation Scale and FoMO Scale. Data analysis using Pearson Correlation. The results showed that there was no significant association between self-regulation variables and FoMO, indicated by the coefficient r = 0.544 and p = 0.000 < 0.05. This result means that there is a negative relationship between self-regulation and FoMO. Self-regulation contributed to FoMO in 4,00%. There were still 96% of other factors related to FoMO tendency. This research showed that self-regulation is too weak to predict FoMO in emerging adulthood

Abstract

In the influx of hedonism and consumptive culture due to the development of communication and information technology, extraordinary hijrah flows from the young generation of Indonesia. This study aims at the religiosity of adolescents experienced by hijrah adolescents through 5 dimensions of religiosity: experiential, ritualistic, ideological, intellectual, and consequential. This study involved 5 Muslimah Aceh Fillah members selected by purposive sampling techniques using a qualitative approach. In-depth interview techniques and participatory observations obtained the data. In addition to engaging its members, the researchers also took parental data from the study subjects to get a comprehensive picture. Then, the data is analyzed through 3 stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results showed that the religiosity of hijrah adolescents is expressed in various dimensions. The most significant change felt by community members is thought in an intellectual dimension that implies an improvement in the other aspect of religiosity.

Abstract

The low awareness of verbal bullying hazard is caused by a low of empathy in individuals. Empathy therapy can be used to develop a sense of empathy, and it can raise awareness about verbal bullying hazard, thereby minimizing the tendency of verbal bullying. This study aims to see the effectiveness of empathy therapy for raised awareness of verbal bullying hazards. This research used a quantitative approach-quasi experimental (one group pretest-posttest design), with a purposive sampling technique, sample by six female participants between ages 17 and 19 in Gampong Paya Bujok Tunong. The instrument used in the research is the tendency scale of verbal bullying. The finding showed that there was a significant empathy therapy decreasing the tendency of verbal bullying.

Abstract

Halaqah merupakan bentuk kegiatan bimbingan islami dari seorang murabbi kepada mutarabbi melalui pertemuan mingguan. Tujuan penelitian untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan kegiatan bimbingan islami melalui kegiatan halaqah serta dampaknya pada pembentukan karakter anak dan dukungan serta hambatan terkait kegiatan tersebut di SDIT Tadzkia Langsa. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SDIT Tadzkia Langsa dengan subjek penelitian tujuh orang. Data penelitian kualitatif ini dikumpulkan melalui observasi dan wawancara  kemudian di analisis dengan menggunakan analisis domain yaitu memperoleh gambaran yang umum dan menyeluruh dari objek/penelitian atau situasi sosial. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan bimbingan islami melalui kegiatan halaqah dalam membentuk karakter siswa SDIT Tadzkia Langsa adalah dalam bentuk mau’izatun hasanah, yaitu membimbing dengan cara yang lemah lembut, menasehati anak dengan perkataan yang baik, sehingga secara tidak langsung cara ini dapat  membentuk karakter anak menjadi lemah lembut, sopan santun. Dampak dari kegiatan tersebut bagi peserta didik ialah adanya perubahan prilaku menjadi semakin baik dan semakin islami, seperti lebih santun terhadap guru di sekolah dan orang tua di rumah, Munculnya kesadaran diri siswa untuk mengingatkan satu sama lain, lebih percaya diri, fokus dalam belajar, serta lebih tekun dalam menghafal. Faktor yang mendukung kegiatan tersebut ialah fasilitas memadai yang di berikan pengelola sekolah. Sedangkan faktor penghambatnya adalah kedisplinan peserta halaqah untuk menghadiri kegiatan yang masih rendah serta waktu pelaksanaan yang masih terlalu singkat.

Abstract

Continuing education at a boarding school is quite challenging for students. Not only are they faced with the complexity of other problems, which are not found in conventional schools. This study explores the factors that cause students attending Dayah Nurul Ulum, Peureulak, East Aceh, Aceh, Indonesia, to persist with the learning process in the boarding school system. Using a qualitative case study research approach, empirical data was collected through in-depth interviews with students who have attended the school for 6 years. Through Stolz’s adversity quotient framework, this study found that santris’ resilience in completing their education in dayah is supported by several factors, namely: (1) optimistic attitude, (2) adaptability, (3) emotion management skills, and (4) social support. This article also argues that their internal motivation and high self-esteem as santri are also reinforcing factors for their success to survive.
