Abstract

Learning sound concepts in elementary schools is still difficult for students to understand because they are passive, learning is not yet concrete, and teachers do not use appropriate methods. This research is to explain the effectiveness of the process skills approach in learning sound concepts in elementary school. The study was conducted in a pre experimental village design with the one group pretest-posttest model. The research subjects were students in 161 Pakkodi public elementary schools, totaling 12 people. The research instruments used were tests, observations, and questionnaires. Data were analyzed descriptively with inferential statistical analysis. Student test results show that a very effective process skills approach is used to teach sound concepts because as many as 66% of students successfully scored very high. The results of teacher observation when learning takes place reach good criteria. Student responses related to the process skills approach were very good because as many as 90% gave positive responses. Abstract

AbstractThis study examines the dangers of online games on children's language behavior. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive type. The data collection method uses observation by describing the results of video observations that show the interaction of children while playing online games. The online game that was studied was Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG). The data obtained are then analyzed interactively by means of reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that when playing online games children absorb a lot of abusive / negative language so that the language behavior becomes distorted. Words or terms that are often used by children such as dogs, idiots (monks), monkeys, bencong (sissy), dogs, idiots / idiots / fools (stupid), dick (male genitalia), tampol (slap), son of a bitch (bastard (slap) brash), and tonjok (hit). It was concluded that online games make many children absorb abusive or negative language so that the language behavior becomes bad. It is recommended to parents, teachers and policy makers not to recommend children to play online games that are specifically violent and have a verbal interaction menu.

Abstract

Acts of violence involving students in schools have an impact on the pattern of teacher education and the mindset of parents of students on the education system with the child protection law. Therefore, this study aims  at  describing the pattern of teacher education and the mindset of students’ parents  towards the application of child protection laws in schools. The research used descriptive qualitative research with library research. The results of the study shows that the child protection law has changed the pattern of teacher education and the mindset of parents of students towards the educational process that occurs in schools. The child protection law does not give the freedom for teachers to take decisive action and  to give punishment to students; and it is used by the parents of students as a tool to criminalize teachers

Abstract

The problem in this study is that full day school is applied in all schools in Indonesia, while in terms of school readiness, human resources, culture, and community characteristics differ between urban and rural areas. The purpose of this study is to describe the concept of full day school on aspects of school readiness, human resources, culture, and characteristics of communities in rural areas. The method used is qualitative research library type by recording all findings related to the concept of full day school. The results of the study explained that (a) the full day school system was not suitable for students in rural areas due to the unpreparedness of the school and inadequate human resources; (b) the concept of full day school is not in accordance with the characteristics and culture of rural communities due to the atmosphere that is still conducive, the role of parents who are still active in assisting their children, and the preservation of informal learning so that students can learn directly in the community.

Abstract

Museum Budaya Rambu Solo Ne' Gandeng belum memiliki video profil yang dapat menggambarkan keseluruhan isi museum. Tujuan pengabdian untuk membuat video profil yang dapat dijadikan sebagai media informasi dan promosi tempat wisata yang ada di Sulawesi Selatan. Kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan dengan metode observasi, studi pustaka, implementasi, evaluasi, dan dokumentasi. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 29-31 Desember 2021 dengan jumlah peserta sebanyak 13 orang dari Fakultas Tarbiyah dan Ilmu Keguruan, Institut Agama Islam Negeri Palopo. Hasil yang didapatkan dari kegiatan ini adalah adanya video profil yang total isinya dari museum untuk digunakan oleh pengelola museum sebagai media informasi dan promosi tempat wisata.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the need for Islamic education courses and local culture at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training IAIN Palopo and to determine the prototype, validity, practicality, and effectiveness of teaching materials for Islamic education and local culture based on the integrative-interconnective paradigm at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training IAIN Palopo. The type of research used was development research. The research was conducted at the Palopo State Islamic Institute in the 2020/2021 academic year. This study concludes that a textbook that can integrate Islamic education and local culture is needed, consisting of 7 chapters, 28 subchapters, and 28 materials; textbooks are very valid, practical, and effective to be used as teaching materials for Islamic education courses local culture.

Abstract

The study aimed to evaluate the use of the Learning Management System (LMS) in the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education Study Program. The type of research used is quantitative data collection techniques using questionnaires and interviews. The study's respondents were lecturers and students of the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education Study Program. This research was conducted in the academic year 2023/2024. The results showed that the SIBEDDU LMS was no longer used. The college's LMS uses the Virtual Classroom developed by IAIN Palopo as a replacement. 80% of lecturers are aware of the existence of LMS, but 100% do not use it. Lecturers prefer external LMSs such as Zoom and Google Classroom. Students use the LMS to access materials, submit assignments, participate in discussion forums, and take online exams. The suggestions were the need for improvements to the VCLASS LMS, such as simplifying navigation and paying attention to access speed constraints as well as adequate servers and the preparation of special training for lecturers and students so that they can make good use of the LMS. In addition, developing new features that suit the needs of lecturers and students, such as focusing on developing interactive features such as live discussion forums and integration with digital libraries, as well as further research, can explore the development of LMS-specific features that increase interactivity and user engagement.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan bagaimana pengaruh Game Free Fire Terhadap Keterampilan Berbahasa di Sekolah Dasar Negeri 309 Ujung Bassiang usia 10-11 tahun 2023. Penelitian ini menerapkan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Pendekatan ini memungkinkan pengumpulan data dilakukan secara langsung di lapangan, sehingga memungkinkan pengamatannya terhadap subjek penelitian dalam konteks aslinya. Subyek penelitian akan difokuskan pada siswa Sekolah Dasar Negeri 309 Ujung Bassiang yang berusia 10-11 tahun. Instrumen penelitian yang akan digunakan mencakup pedoman observasi, angket, pedoman wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa game Free Fire berdampak pada keterampilan berbahasa siswa. Sebagian besar siswa mengatakan bahwa game ini meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara dan interaksi sosial. Data menunjukkan 78,1% siswa setuju bahwa Free Fire meningkatkan kelancaran berbicara, dan wawancara mengkonfirmasi bahwa game ini dapat meningkatkan kepercayaan diri dalam berkomunikasi. Namun, efek negatif juga terdeteksi, seperti penggunaan kata-kata kasar dan gangguan pada waktu belajar. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan bimbingan dari orang tua dan pendidik untuk memaksimalkan manfaat positif sambil menghindari dampak negatifnya.
