Abstract

The discovery of the theory of Multiple Intelligence by Howard Gagner has changed the paradigm of education and learning. If the old paradigm view that intelligence is a single learner who is only measured by IQ tests, then the paradigm of Multiple Intelligence view that intelligence is plural learners. Each individual has the advantage of certain intelligence that may be different with advantages that others have. That fact has implications for the importance of changing patterns of education and learning, including learning Arabic, from the pattern that is only oriented to the development of intellectual intelligence (IQ) to the pattern of intelligence that takes into account the diversity of learners. This paper describes showing the development of Arabic language instruction model based on the theory of Multiple Intelligence. The model in question is a model of the development of Arabic language learning component which includes the development of Arabic language learning goals, teachers’ roles, attitudes and treatment of students, and the development of materials, methods, media, and evaluating the results of learning Arabic, all of which were based on intelligence insight plural (Multiple Intelligence).

Abstract

The main questions asked include: (1) How religious are the students at MTs Negeri 3 Sleman? (2) What is the social support system for them? (3) How are students' abilities in Arabic? (4) How big is the influence of religiosity on students' Arabic language attitudes? (5) How much influence does the social environment have on students' Arabic language skills? (6) How do religiosity and social support influence Arabic language skills simultaneously? The method used was quantitative analysis with a sample of 223 students from classes VII, VIII and IX. Data was collected using religiosity, social and attitude scales in Arabic, then analyzed using multiple regression via SPSS version 23. The results showed that: (1) 35% of students were classified as minorities in terms of religiosity. (2) The students' social environment is in the medium category (37.2%). (3) Students' Arabic language skills are relatively low, with 43.5% of students in this category. (4) Religiosity has a positive correlation with Arabic language attitudes with a contribution of 28.9%. (5) The social environment has a positive effect on Arabic language skills with a contribution of 33.4%. (6) Simultaneously, religiosity and social support have a positive effect on Arabic language skills with a contribution of 39.8%. This research shows the important role of religiosity and social support in influencing students' Arabic language skills at MTs Negeri 3 Sleman.

Abstract

This study addresses one of the key challenges in Arabic listening (istima') instruction, where students often face difficulties in understanding implied meanings within conversations. Traditional teaching methods have contributed to a lack of student interest, highlighting the need for innovation in teaching media. This research aims to explore the impact of using animated videos as a medium in listening instruction from a qualitative perspective.  Utilizing a qualitative research approach, the study focused on first-semester students in the Arabic Language Education Department at UIN Sunan Kalijaga. Data collection was conducted through classroom observations, in-depth interviews with students, and reflective feedback sessions, allowing the researcher to capture the experiences and perceptions of students in detail. The data was then analyzed thematically, revealing patterns of increased student engagement, motivation, and comprehension. The findings show that animated videos helped students better understand complex concepts in listening activities by providing visual support that complemented the audio elements. Many students reported that the combination of visual and auditory information made the content more accessible and engaging. Furthermore, students expressed that the videos helped bridge the gap between theoretical instruction and real-world application, making the learning experience more meaningful. Despite some challenges, such as limited technological resources, students' feedback and observations demonstrated that animated videos effectively contributed to improving their listening skills. This study underscores the potential of animated media to enhance the learning experience by fostering deeper understanding and engagement in Arabic listening instruction.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis secara mendalam bagaimana manajemen sarana dan prasarana ekstrakurikuler broadcasting dapat meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi siswa di MA Ma’arif Puter Kembangbahu Lamongan. Metode penelitian kualitatif dengan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Manajemen sarana prasarana ekstrakurikuler broadcasting di MA Ma’arif Puter Lamongan telah dilakukan secara sistematis dengan perencanaan, pengadaan, pemanfaatan, perawatan rutin dan pengawasan berkala. Kegiatan broadcasting di MA Ma''arif Puter membantu siswa percaya diri, menguasai teknik berkomunikasi verbal dan non-verbal serta mampu keterampilan menanggapi dan berpikir kritis. Namun, terdapat kendala seperti anggaran yang terbatas, keterbatasan sumber daya manusia, serta keterbatasan durasi pelatihan. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, dapat diketahui bahwa manajemen sarana prasarana ekstrakurikuler broadcastingdi madrasah ini berimplikasi terhadap meningkatnya keterampilan komunikasi siswa.

Abstract

This study investigates students’ preferences and satisfaction regarding the use of digital media in Arabic language learning at Islamic universities. This study uses a qualitative approach with a survey method. The data collection technique was through an online questionnaire distributed to students of the Arabic Language Education study program at three Islamic religious universities. The data was analyzed with descriptive statistics to determine the preferences of media use and the level of satisfaction of students with the media they used. The results of the study show that the majority of students choose digital media that are audiovisual and interactive in supporting the learning of receptive skills and Arabic grammar, such as Duolingo, Memrise, Al Jazeera Learning, YouTube, Google Translate, Ma'ani Dictionary, DeepL, Gemini AI, TikTok, cakeAI, and ChatGPT. Among these media, the most widely used media by students are YouTube, 40.8%, and Google Translate, 31.5%, and the rest are other media. Specialized learning apps like Duolingo and Memrise are used on a limited scale. In terms of satisfaction, 97.6% of respondents felt satisfied to be very satisfied with the use of digital media. The factors of ease of use, accessibility, a large selection of materials and increasing motivation to learn are the main reasons for the high level of satisfaction. The findings suggest that digital media holds significant potential for further development as an effective and adaptable tool for Arabic language instruction in modern educational contexts.
