<![CDATA[The students need to be fluent in speaking to express their ideas and what they think in their minds also to communicate with others. As a matter of fact, speaking using Bahasa is not a big deal for students since it is their mother tongue, but as they have to speak in English, it becomes a big problem. They can’t imagine what they want to speak, they are afraid and unconfident if they try to speak English. Therefore the teacher should provide the students' motivation to speak up and use the appropriate method in teaching speaking. Photovoice is a suitable method using a camera for supporting the process of teaching-learning. The purpose of the study is to identify the effect of using Photovoice on speaking skills at the secondary school level. We used a speaking test to complete and process the data. The participants of the study were the students at the secondary level. The outcome of the study revealed that the students who taught using Photovoice had better skills in speaking English than the students who were not taught using Photovoice. Through this method, the students become interested and active during the study. They seemed to enjoy and excited about an exhibition or presentation.]]>

<![CDATA[Abstract The aimed of the study was to find out the effectively of multimedia learning as an activity based computer to develop reading comprehension. The students’ comprehension development is crucial to help students to be success in following development of science and technology, since most of the scientific works are released in English. This research used experimental design with pre-test and posttest one design. There were 47 students as a participants. The pre-test was done to test the sample similarity and the initial level of student’s reading comprehension. The movies given during the intervention session. Then the evaluation and post-test were done to find out the student’s reading comprehension development. Hypothesis was tested using t-test. The result indicated that multimedia learning as an activity based computer was effective to develop student’s reading comprehension. <![CDATA[Tujuan dari pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk memberikan pendampingan mengenai pentingnya inovasi produk batik tegalan dan edukasi bahaya covid19 pada masyarakat Kelurahan Bandung khususnya pengrajin batik tegalan. Pada masa pandemic saat ini diperlukan adanya inovasi produk batik tegalan agar pengrajin batik tegalan mampun bertahan. Selain itu, perlu pula adanya edukasi mengenai bahaya covid19 melalui pemasangan banner di titik kerumunan, serta pemasangan alat pencuci tangan injak. Adanya program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini diharapkan masyarakah kelurahan Bandung khususnya pengrajin batik mampu bertahan di masa pandemic saat ini serta kesadaran menjaga pola hidup bersih sehat dapat lebih meningkat lagi. <![CDATA[Kegiatan Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kecerdasan emosi anak sekaligus kemampuan berbahasa Inggris. Hal ini dilakukan melalui pelaksanaan kegiatan mendongeng dan dongeng tersebut disampaikan dalam bahasa Inggris. Penyampaian dongeng dalam bahasa Inggris adalah atas permintaan mitra, mengingat dalam kurikulum 2013 tidak ada mata pelajaran bahasa Inggris. Padahal bahasa Inggris sangat dibutuhkan dalam era globalisasi. Orang tua murid khususnya sekolah-sekolah swasta sangat menghendaki agar mata pelajaran bahasa Inggris tetap diberikan kepada anak-anak mereka meskipun hanya melalui ekstra kurikuler atau jam tambahan di sekolah. Target yang ingin dicapai adalah adanya peningkatan kecerdasan emosi anak dan kemampuan berbahasa Inggris pada siswa Sekolah Dasar. Mitra PKM yaitu SDIT Usamah dan SD Ihsaniyah Gajahmada. Serta pelatihan yang diberikan kepada guru-guru untuk meningkatkan kompetensi digital literacy nya. Dalam hal ini guru diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kualitas mengajarnya. Dari sebelum pelatihan kebanyakan para guru hanya memanfaatkan papan tulis dan spidol untuk mengajar, dengan adanya pelatihan ini guru diharapkan mampu membuat media pengajaran menarik yang berbasis digital.  Target yang sudah dicapai adalah adanya kegiatan mendongeng menggunakan dongeng digital yang berbahasa Inggris. Serta pelatihan membuat media pembelajaran berbasis digital yang diikuti oleh sekitar 60 guru yang berasal dari SDIT Usamah dan SD Ihsaniyah Gajahmada. Hasil yang sudah dicapai adalah adanya peningkatan kecerdasan emosi anak dan kemampuan berbahasa Inggris siswa pada sekolah mitra dan para guru berhasil membuat video pembelajaran.]]>

<![CDATA[The study employed a quantitative approach with Two-Group Design. The population consisted of six classes. We took a sample of two classes, VII-C as the experimental group and VII-D as the control group. Samples were determined using cluster sampling techniques. Based on the writer’s observation, some teachers in Junior High School Tegal still used the conventional technique in teaching especially in teaching reading, in fact, reading is very difficult to teach in Junior High School because a lack of vocabulary made the students’ motivation declined in reading. The result of the study revealed the use of Anagram was effective in teaching and learning reading. It happened since in Anagram implementation the students as the participants and the teacher as the facilitator. This situation was suited to the curriculum 2013 in which it concerned students oriented. Besides the students had fun and enjoyed reading because they teach each other, it easy to known students’ lack and need by Anagram Games, students trained to dare to ask and give their opinion especially in leaning reading which has many words and paragraphs. This method is easier, useful and flexible for the teacher to apply because of no need for a lot of time, media, realia and place. So, this study gives recommendations for teachers and students to implement this method.]]>

<![CDATA[Media pendidikan merupakan suatu alat/perantara yang berguna untuk memudahkanproses belajar mengajar dalam rangka mengefektifkan komunikasi antara dosen danmahasiswa. Media dalam mengajar memegang peranan penting sebagai alat bantu untukmenciptakan proses belajar mengajar yang efektif. Sehingga kami mengadakan penelitianbagaimana efektifitas penggunaan media belajar (ceramah dan LCD) dalam meningkatkanmotivasi belajar mahasiswa Program Studi PPKn UPS Tegal.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif analitik komparatif. Desain penelitian inimenggunakan variable mandiri (satu variable). Populasi penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa PPKnregular semester VI Tahun Akademik 2014/2015 UPS Tegal. Metode sampling yang digunakandalam penelitian ini adalah probability sampling. Sedangkan sample yang diambil, dilakukandengan teknik simple random sampling. Beberapa metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian inimeliputi angket, observasi dan wawancara. Untuk menguji instrument penelitian digunakan ujivaliditas konstruk dan uji reliabilitas. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik statistic analisadeskriptif dan parametik independen sample t-test polled varian dengan SPSS Ver. 19.Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan motivasibelajar antara mahasiswa yang lebih menyukai menggunakan media bantu LCD ketika kegiatanbelajar mengajar berlangsung dengan mahasiswa yang lebih menyukai metode ceramah ketikakegiatan belajar mengajar berlangsung.Berdasarkan penelitian di atas, maka disarankan dosen sebaiknya pandai dalammengkombinasikan penggunaan media belajar ceramah dan LCD. Hal ini selain untuk motivasidan prestasi belajar mahasiswa sekaligus juga untuk menghidari kebosanan.]]>

The participants of this study were students of the English Language Education program. This study used a true experimental research design with pre-test post-test one group design, with stages covering preparation, implementation, and reporting. <![CDATA[Kalinyamat Wetan is one of the villages located in Tegal City, Central Java, Indonesia. Based on observations made by the community partnership program of Pancasakti Tegal University there are problems faced by our partners, namely: 1) the uneven economy of the residents of Kalinyamat Wetan Village. In general, the economy of The People of Kalinyamat Wetan is good enough, but there are some poor people in Kalinyamat Wetan who need capital assistance and skills courses so that it can be used for entrepreneurship, 2) The problem of lack of knowledge about innovations in the field of Industry. The level of education is still relatively low in Kalimat Wetan which leads to a lack of information and knowledge about the latest innovations to developments in the field of Industry. To answer the problem, we provide solutions through providing training to batik craftsmen to improve the quality of their batik packaging. This is done so that there is an increase in the turnover of batik sales in order to increase their revenue. The implementation of community partnership program activities in the village of Kalinyamat Wetan Tegal city consisting of planning, action and evaluation in general went lancer and successful. Residents in the village of Kalinyamat Wetan, especially batik craftsmen have been able to make a variety of batik packaging designs and are able to provide product descriptions in attractive batik packaging. Residents responded to this PKM activity with great enthusiasm.]]>

<![CDATA[The problem facing partners is that the community has been hit by COVID-19, which resulted in learning in schools that were supposed to be held face-to-face become online or over distance. Tegal city has undergone a Lock-down period for 3 months, namely from March to May 2020. This makes all activities, especially academic fields, conducted through home orWorkFromHome (WFH). Learning activities are carried out remotely using several learning applications. Tegal City Education Office policy requiring all students in Tegal city to study remotely / online is one of the efforts to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic that hit Tegal City. This condition makes Al-Irsyad Islamic School (Mitra) Junior High School, in collaboration with ups Tegal Devotion Team, provide training toUstadz andUstadzahatau teachers who study in school trad in the technical matters of distance learning or online. There are several applications offered, such as Google Classroom, Quipper, Microsoft Teams, etc. Partners and the Devotion Team finally agreed that the appliance used was Edmodo because it was more quota friendly and connected features with parents. The result of this training is that all trainees already have an Edmodo account and have been able to react to it in the activities of learning online.]]>

<![CDATA[Eighth grade students of SMPN 11 Tegal have already implemented digital storytelling in learning recount text. But the perception of learning is not yet known. therefore it is necessary to have research with the aim to describe the perceptions of eighth grade students on the use of digital storytelling in learning recount text in SMP N 11 Tegal. This research is a descriptive study with an approach quantitative. The method used is the survey method and cluster sampling method by randomly drawing lots. The research instrument used was a questionnaire with 19 statements. The research instrument trials were conducted on 20 eighth and eighth grade students of Tegal Middle School 11. Questionnaire is declared valid and reliable (r count = 0.444). The subjects were eighth E and eighth F grade students of Tegal Middle School with a total of 50 respondents. Data analysis techniques using descriptive statistical techniques in the form of descriptive and frequency distribution. Based on the results of the study showed that the perception of eighth grade students of SMPN 11 Tegal on learning recount text using digital storytelling was in the very positive category. This can be seen in the recount text variable as much as 67.6% (very positive), 29.2% (positive), 3.2% (negative), and no one has a very negative perception.
