The literacy activities of Tegal Municipality society show significant development where the government pays attention to the people by providing literacy facilities and programs. The people are also active in producing literary works and texts that can be used for language learning. On the other hand, advances in digital technology have not been widely utilized for the development of this potential. Therefore, UPS Tegal collaborates with Poddium to develop the digitalization of literacy media for language and literature education to create an Independent Learning-Independent Campus ecosystem. The purpose of transforming people's works from text to audio format is that these works can reach wider audience to improve the people's literacy. This program involved 17 lecturers, 70 students, and 2 literacy communities. Students are given trainings of script selection, audiobook and podcast production, and product distribution. Then, students are supervised to produce 20 audiobooks and 50 podcasts which are then uploaded to the Poddium's application. The target beneficiaries of this product can access the application for free for the first 6 months, namely students, schools, libraries, and people in general. This program was supported by the government through Matching Fund of Kedaireka from the Directorate General of Higher Education in 2021.

Kalinyamat Wetan is one of the villages located in Tegal City, Central Java, Indonesia. Based on observations made by the community partnership program of Pancasakti Tegal University there are problems faced by our partners, namely: 1) the uneven economy of the residents of Kalinyamat Wetan Village. In general, the economy of The People of Kalinyamat Wetan is good enough, but there are some poor people in Kalinyamat Wetan who need capital assistance and skills courses so that it can be used for entrepreneurship, 2) The problem of lack of knowledge about innovations in the field of Industry. The level of education is still relatively low in Kalimat Wetan which leads to a lack of information and knowledge about the latest innovations to developments in the field of Industry. To answer the problem, we provide solutions through providing training to batik craftsmen to improve the quality of their batik packaging. This is done so that there is an increase in the turnover of batik sales in order to increase their revenue. The implementation of community partnership program activities in the village of Kalinyamat Wetan Tegal city consisting of planning, action and evaluation in general went lancer and successful. The role of self-assessment has grabbed much attention in recent years owing to the growing emphasis on independent learning to promote learners’ autonomy which becomes the trend of present-day EFL teaching. Learners' autonomy is an inevitability and has proved to positive effect on EFL learning outcomes. In the Indonesian EFL context, self-assessment used in speaking class seems attention-grabbing to be noticed, while in fact, the majority of Indonesian EFL teachers appear troublesome to provide a method to assess students’ speaking skills. This present study thus aimed to provide a theoretical framework for the effective self-assessment for the Indonesian EFL speaking classes by presenting alternatives of instruments that can be utilized for promoting learners’ autonomy. A descriptive qualitative approach was used in this study using library research through conducting a comprehensive search of the relevant theories and empirical findings related to the self-assessment instrument in EFL speaking class. The result of the analysis shows that several instrument models can be utilized for EFL speaking classes, namely self-assessment checklists and learning logs.
