Abstract

The onset of menstruation will be a traumatic event for some children who do not prepare themselves in advance. School-aged children need information about the menstrual process and health during menstruation. Children will have difficulty facing their first menstruation if they have never known about it before. This shows that school age children need reproductive health education in facing menarche. However, in reality, many school-aged children still have relatively low knowledge of reproductive health. The aim of this research is to identify the need for reproductive education regarding menarche among elementary school students in Mojokerto City. This research method uses a descriptive analytical research design with a case sectional approach. Samples were taken based on purposive sampling. Data collection was carried out through interviews using a reproductive education needs questionnaire. From the research results, it was found that the high level of need for reproductive health education, especially information on menarche, was due to the absence of a curriculum in elementary schools that discussed this issue.

Abstract

Pulmonary TB disease is one of the priorities of eradication of infectious diseases. Early-stage drug breakup occurs if the patient does not take medication 2 months in a row or more before the treatment period is complete. Drug breakups result in patients being resistant to OAT (Anti-Tuberculosis Drugs) and can lead to complications. This study aimed to analyze the occurrence of complications of tuberculosis sufferers due to a history of drug breakup. The design in this study was Correlation Analytics with Retrospective approach methods. The population in this study was all TB sufferers who had a history of drug breakups and complications. The sampling technique in this study was Non-Probability Sampling with purposive sampling type. The sample was 30 respondents. The instruments were interview for the history of drug breakup and patient treatment cards and observation and status of patient as the instruments of complications. Spearman Rho test results showed that value = 0.055 or more than α (0.05) which meant there was no correlation between the history of drug breakup with complications of tuberculosis. Based on this study, it could be concluded that the complications of tuberculosis that occur not only because of drug breakup factors but can be due to the spread of increasingly widespread germ infections, the immune system of the sufferers who are lacking, tuberculosis concomitant diseases, nutritional status of tuberculosis sufferers, and also knowledge from TB sufferers who lack the awareness to maintain health.

Abstract

The magnitude of the number of accidents by motorbikes affects the number of fatalities in Indonesia. Traffic accidents recently occur frequently and cause many losses. The magnitude of the number of accidents by motorbikes also affects the number of fatalities in Indonesia. Traffic accidents can occur due to human factors, vehicle factors, and environmental factors that have a major influence on traffic accidents. This study aimed to analyze the factors related to traffic accidents in adolescents. The design used analytical descriptive research design. The population in this study were all class XI students majoring in the automotive department of SMK Taman Siswa Mojokerto. The sample of 146 people was obtained by total sampling. The variables were factors related to traffic accidents in adolescents. The data were collected using primary data from respondents. After the data was collected, the data was processed and continued with descriptive statistical tests with the help of SPSS version 16.0. In this study, the human factor included the gender of the respondents, mostly male (95.2%), and most of the respondents were 14-16 years old or in the middle adolescent category (90.4%), most of the vehicle factors were complete (61%)., and environmental factors (6.4%). This was due to the lack of youth concern for driving safety on the highway. Providing information to adolescents on the causes of accidents can be done to be more vigilant and careful when driving on the highway to minimize the occurrence of accidents

Abstract

CKD patients have kidney damage and their function is replaced using hemodialysis. An indicator of the success of hemodialysis patients in managing fluids is control weight gain, known as Interdialytic Weight Gain (IDWG). The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation of long term hemodialysis and Inter Dyalisis Weight Gain (IDWG) in CKD Patients. Correlation analytic research design with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study were all patients undergoing hemodialysis at RSU Dr. Soeroto Ngawi. Sampling technique consecutive sampling. The sample in this study amounted to 42 people. The research instrument used an observation sheet. Data analysis using Spearman Rho test. The results showed that most of the respondents underwent hemodialysis < 12 months, namely 26 people (62%), for hemodialysis 3-4 hours, 42 respondents (100%), and most of the respondents experienced IDWG which could not be tolerated, namely 30 people (71.5%). The results of the Spearman Rho test showed that p-value = 0.000 so that H1 was accepted, meaning that there was a correlation between the length of time undergoing hemodialysis and duration of HD with Interdyalitic Weight Gain (IDWG) at Dr. Soeroto Ngawi General Hospital, meaning that the longer you undergo hemodialysis, the lower the IDWG value or the more tolerated the IDWG value. It is expected that patient seek as much information as possible from health workers, especially regarding fluid restriction diets and related to increasing IDWG so that fluid intake is more controlled, trying to control food and drinks so that fluid intake is maintained and IDWG can be tolerated.

Abstract

Stroke is a medical emergency. Post-stroke patients generally experience muscle weakness in the limbs, postural disturbances and muscle atrophy. The purpose of this study was to prove the effect of ROM Spherical Grip exercise on post-stroke patients. The type of the study was pre-experimental with one group pre-test-post-test design. The independent variable was Range Of Motion (ROM) Spherical Grip. The dependent variable was the degree of upper extremity muscle strength in post-stroke infarct patients who had hemiparesi. The sampling technique used a consecutive sampling technique. The sample was 33 respondents. The data were taken by measuring the muscle strength before and after being given the intervention. The instrument used an observation sheet for assessing muscle strength and manual muscle testing (MMT) physical examinations in post-stroke patients. The results of this study showed that most of the muscle strength before giving the Spherical Grip ROM exercise was Poor (there was movement but could not fight gravity) as many as 14 respondents (42.4%). After the intervention of the Spherical Grip ROM exercise, the muscle strength was mostly Fair (can move against gravity) as many as 19 respondents (57.6%). There is an increase in upper extremity muscle strength before and after being given ROM Spherical Grip exercise in post-stroke patients who experience hemiparesis. This showed that the Spherical Grip could improve the tone of those who experience weakness and if done continuously could increase muscle strength in post-stroke patients. It is hoped that with this research Spherical grip exercises can be used as one of the treatments for stroke patients who experience decreased upper extremity muscle strength and collaborate with physiotherapy also assisted by taking drugs according to doctor's advice.

Abstract

Many people with COPD develop emphysema and chronic bronchitis. Both conditions cause obstruction of airflow in the respiratory system and cause an increase in the frequency of external respiration. One of the non-pharmacological management is tripod position and pursed lip breathing. This study aimed to determine the effect of giving a tripod position and pursed lip breathing on respiration rate in COPD patients. The design of this study used a one group pretest-post test design. The population in this study were all COPD patients at Bangil Hospital, Pasuruan in June 2021. The sampling technique of this study was consecutive sampling, the sample was obtained by 25 respondents. The instrument used observation and SOP. The results showed that the average respiration rate before giving the combination of tripod position and pursed lip breathing was 28.8x/minute, and the average value of respiration rate after giving the tripod position and pursed lip breathing was 23.2x/minute. Wilcoxon test results value = 0.000 on respiration rate before and after the combination of tripod position and pursed lip breathing, which means that tripod position and pursed lip breathing are proven to be effective on respiration rate in COPD patients. Tripod position and pursed lip breathing will loosen the chest cavity, provide positive pressure on the lungs so that air can go in and out more smoothly and reduce shortness of breath

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic condition that occurs when there is an increase in glucose levels in the blood because the body cannot produce enough insulin or use insulin effectively. In stressful conditions, it can increase the hormone adrenaline which can convert glycogen reserves in the liver into glucose and increase blood sugar in diabetes mellitus patients. The objective of this research was to prove the effect of Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) on stress levels in Diabetes Mellitus patients. Research design pre-post test control group design. The experimental group was given treatment in the form of progressive muscle relaxation (PMR) while the control group received treatment as usual/conventional. The samples in this research were some DM patients at the Mentikan Community Health Center, Mojokerto City, totaling 35 respondents. The results of the pre-test and post-test in the treatment and control groups showed that there was a reduction in stress. It was found that there was a significant decrease in stress in both the treatment group, this was indicated by p=0.001 for the treatment group, while in the control group it was found to be p=0.303, so the decrease stress is not significant. After carrying out PMR, it is hoped that the client will be able to manage the body's condition in response to stress.
