Abstract

Abstract Theoritically, marriage and age is two aspects related to level of psychological well-being (PWB). A person who married will be healthier physically and psychologically, so it can increase the PWB. The PWB will be higher for adult rather than younger. The question is, what about someone who got married at an early age? Is there any difference between the level of PWB on early married women and women who married in adulthood? Therefore, this study aimed to see differences between those two subjects. The research  used survey methods, with PWB scale as the instrument. Subjects in this study were women aged 20-30 years, who married at the aged under 20 years and above 20 years. Subjects in this study 67 people. The results showed significant differences in levels of PWB among women who married early to married adult women (t = 3.816, p = 0.000, p <0,01). Abstract

Shadow teachers are educators tasked with supporting pupils with special needs in the classroom, who inherently have distinct requirements compared to their typically developing peers. Enhancements in shadow teachers’ competences are essential, particularly to better serve students with special needs and to foster self-management skills through a constructive approach. The program aims to enhance the abilities of special assistant instructors through training in positive discipline and self-management (DOLAR). Training has been administered to 34 shadow teachers across elementary, junior high, and high school levels. Three topics were provided by the three team members: positive discipline, emotional regulation, and stress management. Following the conduct of the community service, it was found that 82% of participants possessed a substantial understanding of the subject provided. Seventy-six percent of the total participants deemed the supplied content valuable, while seventy-one percent believed it could be implemented in teaching and learning activities. Participants in community service perceived the time allocated for the topic and the question-and-answer session as insufficient. Additional community service is anticipated to offer comparable training to educators for an extended period.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the formation of group-based hatred in the context of latent conflict, as previous studies have predominantly explored the consequences of hatred in intractable conflicts. Group identification was hypothesized to lead to hatred of another group through perceived threat as a mediator, with the types of threat formulated from historical conflict narratives. The research context was the latent Muslim-PKI conflict in Indonesia. Realistic feelings of threat are formulated based on the narrative that the PKI (Indonesian Communist Party) is perceived to be resurging and trying to change the foundation of the state into communism. Symbolic threat comes from the narrative that PKI resurgence aims to spread communist ideology. This study surveyed 508 Muslim Indonesian citizens aged at least 18 years. The results indicated that perceived realistic and symbolic threats fully mediated the influence of group identification as Muslims on hatred towards PKI. Consistent with the hypothesis, the results demonstrated that hatred can also occur in the context of latent conflict, with perceived threat mediating the relationship between group identification and group-based hatred, and the types of threat were rooted in the historical conflict.

Abstract

The elderly population in Malang City is projected to reach 114,334 individuals, presenting various challenges related to health, cognitive function, and socio-emotional well-being. This study explores the role of psychoeducation in preventing loneliness among the elderly. According to Erik Erikson's theory, elderly individuals face the stage of "Integrity versus Despair," where successful navigation leads to life satisfaction, while failure results in hopelessness. Loneliness, exacerbated by reduced social roles and interactions, negatively impacts mental and physical health. Psychoeducational interventions aim to enhance understanding and provide coping strategies to address loneliness. This research, conducted in RT 02 Losari, Malang, utilized a quasi-experimental design with pretest and posttest measurements on 18 elderly participants. Data collection involved interviews and observations, highlighting limited social support and interaction among the elderly. The results demonstrated a significant increase in knowledge about loneliness, with the pretest average score of 70.56 improving to 86.11 post-intervention. The paired t-test confirmed the effectiveness of psychoeducation in reducing loneliness. Discussion emphasizes the importance of integrating psychological and educational aspects to enhance social skills, cognitive restructuring, and stress management. Recommendations include developing elderly-friendly community programs, leveraging technology for remote interventions, and fostering multidisciplinary approaches to improve mental health care access for the elderly. Future research should focus on expanding psychoeducational interventions and involving families and social environments to promote positive interactions and support for the elderly.
