Abstract

Infancy and toddler years are the best period to receive nutritional intake. The better the nutritional intake, the better the physical development and immunity. At the age of the two yeard old baby, the infection rate is high because the antibodies formed have not been maximized. Infections that often attack toddlers at that age include diarrhea, fever and upper respiratory tract infection. Data obtained from Lemper Village shows that the diseases that attack children under five in January 2021 are 50% upper respiratory tract infection, 33% diarrhea and 16% fever. These data indicate that upper respiratory tract infectionis a disease with the highest percentage that attacks toddlers. From the results of the preliminary study, it was found that 10 mothers with upper respiratory tract infection under five, 5 children were not given exclusive breastfeeding, 3 people had low body weight, and 2 people lived in a smoking family environment. Based on the research objectives, the research design used was an analytical survey with a cross sectional research design. Based on the results of the study showed that almost entirely (80.0%) of mothers who gave exclusive breastfeeding did not experience upper respiratory tract infection as many as 16 mothers, while infants who were not exclusively breastfed (81.9%) had ARI as many as 36 toddlers. The results of the statistical test show that the calculated X2 value = 22.42 is greater than the table X2 value = 3.841. It can be concluded that Ho is rejected while H1 is accepted, meaning that there is a relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and the incidence of upper respiratory tract infection in children aged 7–24 years in Lemper Village. The importance of the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding for infants can reduce the number of infections in infants, thus enabling mothers to improve their lifestyle. Because exclusive breastfeeding contains a lot of antibodies, so that babies who are breastfed have antibodies that increase so that it will reduce the incidence of upper respiratory tract infection. The conclusion in this study is that there is a relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and the incidence of upper respiratory tract infection in toddlers aged 7-24 months at the Lemper Village Health Care. Mothers of toddlers are advised to be more active in participating in any counseling on breastfeeding techniques to prevent the occurrence of upper respiratory tract infection in infants. Keywords: Exclusive breastfeeding, upper respiratory tract infection, baby

Abstract

The maternal mortality rate is mostly caused by prolonged labor as much as 8%, one of which is caused by the extension of the first stage of the active phase. 16.7% maternity mothers experienced an extension of the first stage of the active phase caused by parity factors. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between maternal parity and the incidence of prolongation of the active phase. This research design is correlation analytic, based on cross sectional time. The population and sample of this study were all mothers who gave birth in January-May 2022 as many as 35 respondents using saturated sampling technique. The independent variable is maternal parity, while the dependent variable is the incidence of prolongation of the first stage of the active phase. Data obtained using partograph with contingency coefficient statistical test. The results of statistical tests obtained X2count (7.047) > X2table (5.991) with a contingency coefficient of 0.409 so it can be concluded that there is a moderate relationship between maternal parity and the extension of stage 1 of the active phase. For mothers with primiparas, it is expected to routinely carry out antenatal checks so that high risks are detected early during delivery, multiparous mothers minimize the occurrence of extension of the active phase 1 by following the advice of midwives during labor and grandemultipara mothers are advised not to have more children so that there is no risk high rates of pregnancy and childbirth with participation in family planning programs

Abstract

Complications of labor can occur from the first stage to the fourth stage, the presence of complications during labor can cause complications. One of the complications during labor that usually occurs is perineal laceration. The 2018 Indonesian Health Profile shows data that post partum infection cases reach a percentage of 80-90% due to lacerations during the delivery process. The method used in this research is correlation with cross sectional approach and analyzed by statistical test of contingency coefficient. The results of the study concluded that mothers who experienced perineal tears due to episiotomy were almost entirely faster in wound healing time, namely 88.25%, while mothers who experienced spontaneous perineal tears had a longer wound healing time, which was 66.67%. The results of the statistical test of the Contingency Coefficient using the SPSS 18 for windows program so that the value of = 0.05, df = 2, X2count = 12.20, X2table = 5.991. Because X2count > X2table, it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, which means that there is an effect of the type of perineal wound on the healing time of the wound. To overcome the above problems, early detection is carried out through routine ANC examinations so that the history of previous deliveries, estimated fetal weight, activity patterns and the mother's psychological condition can be known.

Abstract

Background: The process of delivery through the birth canal has a risk of experiencing perineal tears, perineal tears can occur spontaneously or tear through episiotomy. The presence of perineal wounds can be one of the predisposing factors for infection during the puerperium. Based on the Indonesian Health Profile in 2018, post-partum wounds are still a common cause of infection, reaching 80-90%. Complementary therapy is the right solution to overcome health problems. One type of biodiversity that can be used as herbal therapy to speed up recovery process of perineal wounds is banana blossom which contains iron which is needed for hydroxylation of proline, lysine, vitamins, flavonoids, and proteins. antioxidant effect which is indispensable in the wound healing processObjectives: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of consuming banana flower vegetables to accelerate perineal wound healing. Methods: This research is a quasi-experimental study with a Posttest Only Control Group design and then analyzed using a non-parametric test, namely the Mann Whitney test and a significance level of 0.05, to see the difference in perineal wound healing time between the control group and the experimental groupResults: Based on the results of statistical tests using the Mann Whitney U-Test, a p value of 0.000 <0.05 (α) was obtained which indicated that H1 was accepted and H0 was rejected, meaning that there was a difference in the duration of perineal wound healing between respondents who consumed banana flower vegetables and respondents who did not consume banana heartConclusions: Banana flower has a high antioxidant content which makes the process of joining the tissues on both sides of the wound due to tearing to take place more quickly. With the results of this study, it is hoped that all postpartum women who experience perineal tears can continue to consume banana flower vegetables until the perineal wound heals.

Abstract

The achievement of exclusive breastfeeding is still a world problem whose target has not been achieved. The achievement rate of exclusive breastfeeding in Indonesia is still far below the national target. Therefore, breastfeeding must be prepared early so that the obstacles that are often experienced at the beginning of breastfeeding can be prevented and anticipated. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of providing supportive behavior education on the preparation for breastfeeding in third trimester pregnant women in the working area of BPM Ulfa Surabaya. The design of this study used a Quasy experimental design with one-group pre-test-post-test design. The independent variable is supportive education about breastfeeding, while the dependent variable is the mother's behavior in the preparation of breastfeeding. The intervention was carried out 1 time each for 30 minutes. The data collection instrument used a questionnaire. The results showed an increase in the score of good readiness from 33.8% before the provision of supportive education to 69.4% after the provision of supportive education. Providing information as well as motivation (supportive education) on maternal readiness has an effect on the level of knowledge of pregnant women about breastfeeding.

Abstract

Golden age is the initial stage of growth and development of toddlers starting covering the first 1000 days of life starting from the womb until toddlers are 2 years old which parents should not miss. This golden period can affect the quality of toddlers in the future, therefore the attention of parents must be maximally devoted to this period. Indonesia is a developing country with a national prevalence of under five nutritional status consisting of 3.9% poor nutrition, 13.8% malnutrition, 79.2% good nutrition and 3.1% excess nutrition. The growth of Indonesian toddlers under 5 years of age who experience deviations was reported by WHO in 2016 with a prevalence of 7,512.6 per 100,000 population (7.51%) (WHO, 2018). The results of the analysis obtained a correlation value of 0.547 indicating that there is an effect of calcium supplementation on the growth and development of toddlers. Good calcium supplementation during pregnancy which starts to be consumed in the 2nd trimester using prophylactic doses is very good for the growth of toddlers, especially those related to bones and teeth, as well as gross motor development.

Abstract

Menarchea is the first bleeding from the uterus that occurs in a woman. Menarche usually occurs at the age of 10-16 years, the average is 12.5 years. Many adolescents feel anxious when they are about to face menarche which is marked by shame and fear, with varying levels of anxiety. Based on the preliminary study, it was found that 60% of the young women did not get support from their parents, especially informative support regarding menstruation. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between parental support and the level of anxiety facing menarche in female adolescents. This research is a correlational analytic study with a cross sectional approach. The population is all students of the Murtajih 1 Elementary School. The sampling technique is random sampling of 71 respondents. Collecting data in this study using questionnaires and checklists. The data analysis technique used the Spearman rank statistical test with the help of SPSS version 17.0 with a significance level of 0.05. From the results of the Spearman rank statistical test, it was found that ρ : 0.000 <0.05, which means that H0 is rejected, which means that there is a relationship between parental support and the level of anxiety facing menarche in young women. Parental support is an important element in shaping perceptions in adolescents. Good parental support will help reduce the level of anxiety facing menarche in young women. Because that way, young women get information, especially about menstruation, which will give a positive perception about menarche. This requires awareness of parents as the first and foremost educators for their children.
