Abstract

Dust is the most frequent and dangerous chemical factor in the workplace. Based on the Republic of Indonesia Minister of Manpower Regulation No. 13 of 2011 concerning the Threshold Value (NAV) of Physical and Chemical Factors in the Workplace, the maximum dust content in the workplace is 3 mg / m3. Exposure to dust that exceeds the NAV can cause breathing problems in workers in the form of a decrease in forced expiratory volume in one second and a decrease in the volume of vital capacity. This research is a quantitative analytical survey with cross sectional design that aims to determine the relationship of dust exposure with respiratory problems in brick making workers. The population in this study were all combustion brickworkers, a total of 34 samples taken using total sampling techniques. Data were analyzed using Chi Square test with α = 0.05. The results showed that most brick making workers were exposed to dust exposure for> 8 hours (79.4%) and most of the workers had respiratory problems (76.5%). Based on statistical tests it is known that there is a relationship between dust exposure and respiratory problems in brick making workers in Jati Baru, Pagar Merbau District, Deli Serdang Regency in 2020 (p value = 0.004). Long exposure to the environment containing work dust particles will cause severe stress on the respiratory tract organs, making it easy to cause various types of lung disease and other respiratory diseases. Therefore, the owner of the brick making factory is expected to be able to provide personal protective equipment (PPE) such as masks for workers and provide sanctions if workers do not use PPE.

Abstract

Complaints of neck pain are a complaint on the part of the skeletal muscle as a result of forced movement and receiving heavy loads for a long time. Tailoring is one of the jobs that has a high risk of experiencing neck pain complaints. The rotation of the spine when the body is bending is a factor in neck pain complaints that are often complained of by tailors. This work activity will indirectly endanger health. This study aims to determine the relationship between workload and work period with complaints of neck pain in tailors at the Lubuk Pakam Training Institute in 2020. The type of research used is quantitative with a cross sectional design. The population of this study were 30 workers at the Lubuk Pakam training institute using the total sampling technique. Data collection by questionnaire. Data analysis used the chi-square test at the level of confidence level of 95% and α = 0.05. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between workload (p = 0.024) and length of service (p-0.016) with complaints of neck pain in tailors at the Lubuk Pakam Training Institute. It is advisable for tailors to pay more attention to health and safety while working without forcing the body to work and regulating good working hours, adequate rest, stretching while working and paying attention to the dangers that can occur in the work environment

Abstract

Hemoglobin is a protein that is rich in iron. The function of Hb in the blood is to carry oxygen to the lungs, to the tissues and to carbon dioxide. Efforts to increase hemoglobin levels are related to the intake of foods containing iron, one of which is the provision of green bean cooking water. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving mung bean boiled water to an increase in hemoglobin levels in office workers at Rs.Grandmed Lubuk Pakam. This research design with one group pre test-post test. The population in this study were employees of Rs.Grandmed. The number of research samples were 48 workers for the total sampling. Data analysis using paired t-test. The results showed that the HB level of workers before giving green bean cooking water was not normal, namely 39 (81.3%) respondents with an average of 1.81. The HB levels of workers after giving green bean boiled water were all normal HB categories, namely as many as 48 (100%) respondents with an average of 1.00. Data analysis using pre-test and post-test giving green bean boiled water in the experimental group showed results where the p value was 0.000, the value was 0.000 <0.05, so it could be said that there was a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test values. hypothesis is accepted. The conclusion of this study is that there is an effect of giving mung bean boiled water to an increase in hemoglobin levels in office workers at the Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital. It is hoped that the hospital leadership will educate the workers that green bean cooking water can be used as an alternative to increasing hemoglobin levels.

Abstract

Hospital as a health centers which can be access with all of people is one of area which declared by smoke free area and director or person in charge of the places which declared by smoke free area has obligation to establish and make implementation of the smoke free area. That is a background of researcher to do a research which can give a knowledge and comprehension about perception of employees and visitors about the implementation smoke free area in General Hospital of Kabanjahe because they are the people who have an impact to implementation of regulation which declared in the hospital area. The research is a descriptive qualitative research. This study uses data collection techniques with in-depth interview for 9 informants.The result showed that both health care workers, management staff, directors strongly support the implementation of the smoking area in the house common areas serdang deli.However, implementation of the smoking area in public hospital serdang deli area is already running with the maximum, either aapeal the from of words ir in written rules in the persistence of the employees and visitors who smoke in several places in the district hospital deli serdang. Others outside the waiting room, in the parking lot and at the general hospital cafetaria serdang deli.
