Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan model pembelajaran  discovery learning terhadap hasil belajar matematika ditinjau dari minat belajar siswa. Metode penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu dengan desain 2x2 faktorial. Tempat penelitian dilakukan di SMP Negeri di Kota Rantepao, tahun pelajaran 2014/2015. Populasi penelitian adalah semua siswa kelas tujuh SMP Negeri Rantepao dan sampel diperoleh dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling dengan jumlah anggota sampel sebanyak 78 siswa.  Model pembelajaran sebagai variabel bebas, minat belajar sebagai variabel intervening, dan hasil belajar matematika siswa sebagai variabel respon. Model pembelajaran discovery learning digunakan pada kelompok perlakuan, dan model pembelajaran langsung digunakan pada kelompok pembanding. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan instrumen tes hasil belajar matematika dan skala minat belajar dan digunakan ANAVA dua jalan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) model pembelajaran dan minat belajar mempunyai pengaruh terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa, dan (2) model pembelajaran discovery learning lebih baik daripada model pembelajaran langsung. Kata kunci: model discovery learning, model langsung, minat belajar, hasil belajar matematika siswa. ABSTRACT The major objective of this research was to investigate the effects of applying discovery learning on mathematics achievement in terms of students learning interest. The research methodology was a quasi-experimental and the design of the research was a 2x2 factorial. The research was conducted in SMP Negeri in Rantepao City in academic year 2014/2015. The population of research was made up of all seventh grade students of SMP Negeri Rantepao from where a sample of 78 students was obtained by using cluster random sampling technique. Learning model as the independent variable, students learning interest as intervening variable, and mathematics achievement of student as response variable. The treatment class group taught by using Discovery learning model. While the comparison group was taught by Direct Instruction. The data were collected using the mathematics learning test instrument and learning interest scale. The data collected were analyzed with two way ANOVA. The findings showed that: (1) learning model and interest in learning have an effect on student learning outcomes, and (2) Discovery learning model is better than Direct Instruction. Abstract

This research aims to examine the mathematical concepts in traditional Tongkonan houses' carving and provide information about the meaning of each carving in the Tongkonan house. The research method used is the qualitative research method. The results of the study are obtained by observation and interview. The results showed that it turns out, in some Toraja carvings, contain the concept of transformational geometry, namely reflection. The information also obtained that the carvings in the Tongkonan house are very loaded with meaning, especially about advice, prayer, or hope to all members of the Tongkonan.

Abstract

Toraja carving is rich in mathematical concepts, especially geometric concepts, this is because in Toraja carving there are many geometric concepts such as squares, rectangles, triangles, and so on. This fact shows that the concepts of mathematics, especially geometry have been used by our ancestors since ancient times. The concept of geometry combined with Toraja local wisdom is expected to be able to facilitate learning geometry both in class and in college. Besides, it can be a means of preserving Toraja culture, especially for the younger generation of Toraja. The purpose of this research is to examine what geometric concepts are contained in Toraja carvings, as well as the meaning contained in them. This research was conducted in 3 (three) stages. Data were obtained using observation and interviews with 5 informants, namely those who understand the ins and outs of Toraja culture. From the research results, it is found that in Toraja carving, there are geometric concepts such as diagonals, parallel lines, symmetry, curved lines, squares, rectangles, trapezoid. Each carving has its own meaning and matches the name of each carving. The symbolic meaning in Torajan carvings generally describes the life of the Toraja people in relation to God, others, and their surroundings.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan pembuatanPrototype Pembangkit listrik Tenaga Hentakan Kendaraan di Jalan Raya” dengan tujuan umum memanfaatkan sumber EnergiBaru Terbarukan (EBT) sebagai pembangkit listrik. Salah satu sumber energi yang sangat melimpah dan belum banyak dimanfaatkan adalah energisentakan kendaraan. Tujuan khususnya adalah mendisain prototipepembangkit listrik tenaga hentakan kendaraan di jalan raya dimana listrik yang dihasilkan disimpan dalam baterai (accu). Tujuan Jangka Panjang adalahditemukannya alat konversi energy sentakan kendaraan di jalan raya dengan efisiensi maksimum sehingga dapat dijadikan pembangkit dan dapat menghasilkan daya cukup besar. Prototipe pembangkit listrik tenaga Hentakan kedaraan pada dasarnya sama dengan pembangkit listrik yang lain yang menggunakan dinamo. Pada prototype ini, gaya yang dimanfaatkan untuk memutar dinamo adalah dari sentakan kendaraan. Sebuah alat didesain untuk mengubah hentakan kendaraan menjadi energi rotasi yang akan memutar dinamo untuk mendapatkan arus listrik. Listrik yang diperoleh kemudian di simpan dalam baterai (accu). Dari prototype yang dihasilkan sebelum pemasangan dinamo pembangkit telah didapatkan putaran yang cukup tinggi untuk memutar dinamo untuk menghasilkan listrik. Setelah dinamo terpasang, putaran menjadi berkurang karena beban dari dinamo akantetapi putaranya masih cukup untuk mengaktifkan dinamo sebagai pembangkit. Indikator pembangkit telah berfungsi adalah matinya lampu indicator yang terpasang pada dinamo.

Abstract

One of the ways teachers design a learning environment is to use the right media in teaching a concept so that the concept is easily accepted and understood by students. Therefore, the author offers a solution to use the media or learning resources that exist in the environment of the students in this case ethnomathematics. There has been a lot of research from UKI Toraja that the culture of the Toraja people is rich in ethnomathematics. Therefore the author was inspired to use this in mathematics learning. In this study ethnomathematics will be packaged in student Worksheets. This is considered very appropriate because LKS, which contains instructions for the stages of solving a problem, will challenge students to solve it or find a concept in an interesting way because it uses media in Toraja culture, which is inseparable from the lives of students at SMP 1 Denpina or it can be said that the students are familiar with it. LKS which is based on Ethnomathematics, apart from being a learning medium that helps teachers convey messages to students, the use of ethnomathematics in learning is one way to maintain the local wisdom of the Toraja people so that the younger generation who are currently in the digital era still understand and even maintain the culture they have. This study aims to apply ethnomathematics-based student worksheets in mathematics learning in Schools. The research method used is a quantitative research method. Where in the stages, the author will design student worksheets based on ethnomathematics, then test its validity after it is used in the learning process and during the learning process, student activities will be observed to see the level of student activity during learning using LKS developed by the author. After the learning process is complete, students will be tested using a learning outcomes test. From the results of the study, it was found that the use of ethnomathematics-based LKS in grade VII students of SMPN I was effective, this can be seen from the learning outcomes and activities of the students studied meeting the effective criteria.

Abstract

The objective of this research were to find out 1). the level of grammatical and mechanic accuracy in the opinion essays by the third semester students. 2). the difference in the level of grammatical and mechanics accuracy between peer-correction and self-correction technique in writing opinion essay by the third semester students of UKI Toraja. This research is a quantitative research. The population of this research is the third semester students of English study program which consists of 3 classes. To select the sample, the writer uses a cluster sampling technique by selecting two classes. The instrument used to collect data is a written test. The results of the research shows that there were differences in the results of the implementation between the peer-correction technique and the peer-correction technique. The average score of students from the implementation of peer-correction is 76.5 and it is classified into the good category while the score of the self-correction implementation is 57.7 and it is classified into poor category. Therefore, it can be concluded that the peer-corection implementation is better than the selft-corection implementation.

Abstract

Metode mengajar yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran Matematika di SD sebaiknya dikemas dalam bentuk “belajar sambil bermain”. Pengajar sebaiknya bisa memilih dengan cermat metode mengajar yang mendorong siswa untuk aktif dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar. Hal ini bertujuan agar siswa lebih menguasai konsep dan nilai-nilai lebih mendalam dari bahan ajar Pendidikan Matematika. Salah satu metode yang bisa diterapkan yaitu Jarimatika. Masalah yang dihadapi oleh murid di SDN No. 213 Inpres Lemo dalam belajar matematika adalah mereka sulit memahami materi, menunjukkan sikap acuh tak acuh dalam pembelajaran, selain itu matematika dianggap sebagai pelajaran yang susah untuk dipahami sehingga berdampak pada motivasi yang rendah. Kegiatan abdimas ini dilaksanakan di SDN No.213 Inpres Lemo, Kab.Tana Toraja. Dengan metode pengajaran teknik jarimatika, ini dianggap paling ampuh dalam menanamkan konsep dasar matematika, karena di samping tidak terlalu memberatkan kinerja otak dalam berpikir, Teknik ini juga membangkitkan motivasi karena didalamnya anak belajar sambil bermain. Dari hasil abdimas ini, didapatkan kesimpulan bahwa permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra dapat tertangani, hal ini terbukti dari hasil belajar dan motivasi belajar yang mengalami peningkatan yang sangat signifikan. Penekanannya adalah guru perlu mendesain pembelajaran dalam bentuk yang menarik karena dengan cara itu terbukti mampu membuat hasil dan motivasi belajar anak lebih baik.

Abstract

This study is quantitative research. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of using Android smartphone-based mobile applications to learn English grammar. The population of this study was the first-year students in the English language education study program. To determine the research sample, the writers used the cluster sampling technique. The sample for this research was 20 students. The results of this study, after analyzing the obtained data, show that the Android smartphone-based mobile apps application is effectively used in learning English grammar. The study revealed that the post-test was higher than the pre-test, with the post-test scoring 87.04 and the pre-test scoring 42.65. The significance results also indicate that the t-test is greater than the T-table score, with t-test = 11.350 and t-table = 2.093, respectively.

Abstract

The of this research is to learn about and describe a project inteded for improving the profile of Pancasila Class IV SDN 2 Rantepao students. The subjects of this study were fourth-grade students and the teachers of SD Negeri 2 Rantepao. It is located at Dr. Ratulangi, Singki' Village street, Rantepao District, North Toraja Regency, South Sulawesi. This research approach is qualitative research that focuses on the use of data obtained on site. This type of research is descriptive research that aims to describe or provide an overview of the implementation of the independent curriculum through a Project to Strengthen the Profile of Pancasila Students in Class IV of SD Negeri 2 Rantepao. The data collection methods used were observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the investigation indicated that the implementation of the autonomous curriculum by strengthening the student profile of pancasila in Class IV SD State 2 Rantepao was successfully implemented. In school or outside the school, the students have successfully applied all the indicators of the profile of the students of Pancasila, namely, faithful, godly and noble, globally independent, confident, critical and creative. The P5 activities are carried out in a local context.
