Abstract

In the recovery period, the post appendicectomy intestinal peristalsis had not been reactivated normally. Because of these conditions, patients are advised not to eat and drink first for some time until the intestine activation back to normal. It is often complained by postoperative patients. In addition, surgery on the abdominal organs was no exception appendiktomy may caused paralytic ileus. This condition could inhibited or stopped the work of the intestine, cause pain, nausea, abdominal distension, and the patient must be hospitalized longer. Therefore action were needed that could accelerated the return of the patient's intestinal peristalsis. One of the interventions that could be done was to chew gum. This research was a quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test and use data analysis with paired sample t test to test the entire population of post appendictomy patients in Grandmed Hospital of Lubuk Pakam. Sampling using total sampling with a significant level of 95% (p≤0,05). The results of this study indicate that there was effect of chewing gum on the peristalsis intestine of post appendictomy patients with p value 0.000. This suggests that there is the effect of chewing gum on the peristalsis intestine patients appendiktomi appendiktomi can improved the peristalsis intestine of post appendictomy patients in Grandmed Hospital of Lubuk Pakam. Based on the results of the study is expected to hospital and nurse to be able to make chewing gum into one of the interventions to accelerate the return of intestinal peristaltic post appendictomy patient.

Abstract

Hemodialysis patients are susceptible to malnutrition caused by components in hemodialysis, such as Dialyzer (Kidney Artificial), blood line, AV fistula, bicarbonate fluid, acidic liquid. Patients who have long been undergoing hemodialysis have high urea and creatinine levels. Increased levels of urea and creatinine can stimulate acid production such as stomach ulcers (gastritis), namely nausea, vomiting, heartburn, bloating and no appetite. This research aims to knowing long standing relationship of hemodialysis with appetite in patients chronic renal failure in the unit hemodialysis of Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital in 2019. This type of research is quantitative research, using analytical survey method with cross sectional approach. The population in this study were all patients with chronic renal failure who were in the hemodialysis unit of Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital with a sample of 49 people, using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection was using a questionnaire. The analysis in this study used Chi Square test with a degree of confidence of 5% = 0,05. The results of the study stated that the majority of respondents were in the old category (2 years-3 years) as many as 31 people (63.3%) with decreased appetite by 21 people (42.9%), fixed appetite of 7 people (14.3 %), appetite increased by 3 people (6.1%). There is a long standing relationship of hemodialysis with appetite in patients chronic renal failure in the unit hemodialysis of Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital in 2019 with p value < α = 0,05.

Abstract

Urinary retention in women is most likely to occur in the post-caesarean section or after pelvic surgery. According to Stanton, urinary retention is the inability to urinate for 24 hours which requires catheter assistance, where the inability to pass urine is more than 25-50% of the bladder capacity. When urinary retention occurs, non-invasive methods are first attempted such as bladder training using Sitz bath hydrotherapy so that the urinary elimination function can occur spontaneously. If these efforts are unsuccessful, bladder training with catheterization is required by inserting a foley catheter in the bladder for 24 - 48 hours to keep the bladder empty and allow the bladder to regain its normal muscle tone to achieve spontaneous urination. Postoperative urinary retention is the patient's inability to urinate after surgery even though the patient's bladder is full, in most cases, postoperative urine retention does not last long, but in some cases postoperative urinary retention can be prolonged even for days after surgery. especially if properly identified and handled. Postoperative urinary retention can cause several complications such as urinary tract infections, bladder overdistention, detrusor damage and can lead to hydronephrosis and kidney damage which can lead to chronic kidney disease, especially in elderly patients.

Abstract

One of the recovery processes for postoperative appendectomy patients can be attempted by planning and implementing early mobilization, namely the steps that are carried out immediately on postoperative patients starting from lifting the upper and lower extremities and doing right and left tilts, and sitting on the side of the bed until the patient get out of bed, stand up and begin to learn to walk with assistance according to the patient's condition. This study aims to determine the relationship between early mobilization and the duration of wound healing after appendectomy surgery at Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital. This research is a quantitative research with a cross sectional design. The research population is the entire object of research or the object under study. The population in this study were all post-op appendectomy patients who were being treated at the GrandMed Lubuk Pakam Hospital in 2021 as many as 63 people. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling with a sample of 15 people. Data analysis was performed by univariate, bivariate with Chi-square test at 95% confidence level. The results of this study were 11 respondents (73.3%) with good wound healing, 10 (66.7%) who did not mobilize well, and 10 respondents (66.7%) who did not mobilize well. 4 people (26,7) with moderate wound healing as many as 5 people (33,3%). The results of data analysis showed that there was a relationship between early mobilization and the duration of wound healing in appendectomy patients at Grandmed Lubuk Pakam Hospital in 2021 with p value = 0.001. Respondents who have an early mobilization rate are likely to have faster wound healing. It is recommended to post-op appendictomy patients to mobilize early for better wound healing.

Abstract

Osteoarthritis (OA) also known as degenerative joint disease is the most common in all forms of arthritis and causes pain and disability in the elderly. This disease is characterized by progressive loss of joint cartilage, synovitis (inflammation of the synovium lining the joints), joint pain, stiffness, and loss of joint movement (Lemone, 2018:1679). Skin stimulation that can be done is Slow-Stroke Back Massage. Proper use of skin stimulation: slow-stroke back massage can reduce pain perception and help reduce muscle tension which can reduce pain intensity, but it can also cause dilation of blood vessels and improve blood circulation in tissues. This activity was carried out at the Lubuk Pakam Health Center in January 2021. The target of this community service is 30 elderly people with osteoarthritis. The method used in this community service is providing education or counseling to patients with Osteoarthritis. The media used are Power point presentation (PPT) and LCD for approximately 90 minutes. To measure the success of the education or counseling provided, knowledge measurement before and after education or counseling was carried out using a questionnaire. Data analysis for bivariate calculations in this study used Pair Samples t-test with the provisions of 0.05. Based on the results of statistical tests using paired sample t-test, p value (= 0.000) < (= 0.05) it can be concluded that the hypothesis in this study is accepted,

Abstract

Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) is related to bleeding experienced and has a relationship with anemia during pregnancy. WHO (2016) claimed, the prevalence of pregnant women who experience anemia was 40.1%. RIKESDAS (2018) claimed, the proportion of anemia in pregnant women in Indonesia ware 48.9%. During impregnation if anemia cannot be treated until the end of pregnancy, it will have an impact on the postpartum. The problem of postpartum anemia is not as widely studied as prepartum anemia. The prevalence of postpartum anemia in developing countries ranges from 50% to 80%. Purpose To determine the difference hemoglobin levels of pregnant women36 weeks and postpartum day 4. The research was carried out by analyzing comparative with a quantitative approach. Mechanical Sampling is sampling accidental 18 pregnant women 38 week, analysis using t-test-dependen. The results of this study obtained a significant difference in the average hemoglobin level of pregnant women 36 weeks and postpartum mothers day 4 of 0.97. Average hemoglobin level of 36-week pregnant women of 10,95 and postpartum mothers of day 4 of 9,98. Based on the results between the t-test, the value of sig. = 0.000. Abstract

Early mobilization is a movement that is carried out immediately after surgery. This is done with the aim of restoring the abdominal muscles so they are not stiff and relieve pain so that it can accelerate the wound healing process. Based on Riskesdas North Sumatra 2018, the proportion of delivery methods by cesarean section in North Sumatra Province was 23.89 percent and normal deliveries were 75.95 percent. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between early mobilization and surgical wound healing in postpartum mothers post sectio caesarea at the Ibu Kartini Kisaran General Hospital in 2022. This study is a quantitative type of research, with a cross sectional research design using the chi-square test. The population in this study were all postpartum mothers who had undergone post sectio caesarea while at the Ibu Kartini General Hospital in the range of 2022. The sample obtained was 40 people with accidental sampling technique. The statistical test used was the chi square test (p < 0.05). The results of this study indicate that there is a relationship between early mobilization and healing of surgical wounds in postpartum mothers after sectio caesarea at the Kartini General Hospital Kisaran in 2022 with a p value of 0.01. So it is hoped that nurses and midwives will be able to provide education and supervision of the implementation of mobilization for postpartum mothers post sectio caesarea to accelerate wound healing.
