Abstract

Informasi potensi lahan pengembangan tanaman kacang tanah di Desa Rambangaru dan Praibakul masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik biofisik lahan dan kelas kesesuaian lahan tanaman kacang tanah di Desa Rambangaru dan Praibakul. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah metode matching (pencocokan) dan metode overlay. Karakteristik lahan di Desa Rambangaru dan Praibakul memiliki rata-rata temperatur 27.1 °C/tahun, curah hujan 843.4 mm/tahun, dan kelembaban 78.2%/tahun, drainase sangat terhambat, tekstur tanah: liat, lempung berliat, lempung, lempung berdebu, dan lempung berpasir, rata-rata kedalaman tanah 25-75 cm, kandungan kapasitas tukar kation 24.38-44.67 cmol/kg, nilai pH tanah 6.2-8.3, kandungan C-Organik 0.05%-8.96%, kemiringan lereng 8%-40%, dan batuan permukaan 0-50%. Kelas kesesuaian lahan wilayah Desa Rambangaru dan Praibakul yaitu kelas S1 (sangat sesuai) seluas 1038.61 ha, dan S2 (cukup sesuai) seluas 8684.88 ha. Faktor pembatas dari hasil matching adalah kelas kesesuaian lahan yaitu drainase, kemiringan lereng dan batuan permukaan.

Abstract

Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Suka Maju merupakan salah satu kelompok tani yang ada di Kelurahan Malumbi Kecamatan Kambera Kabupaten Sumba Timur yang melakukan kegiatan pertanian  kususnya dibidang hortikultura. Kegiatan pertanian yang dilakukan sering terjadi masalah salah satunya dari organisme pengganggu tanaman (OPT) sehingga membutuhkan pengetahuan untuk melindungi tanaman yang dibudidayakan. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengenalkan teknik pengendalian hama terutama serangga yang ramah lingkungan dan menggunakan bahan bekas. Metode kegiatan yaitu Sosialisasi, Ceramah Praktek pembuatan perangkap kuning dan memasang perangkap di lahan serta monitoring. Hasil sosialisasi menunjukan anggota kelompok tani paham dan dapat membedakan OPT dan dapat membuat perangkap kuning dari bahan bekas dan mampu membuat perangkap kuning dan mengaplikasikan atau memasangnya pada lokasi lahan budidaya. Hasil monitoring ditemukan beberapa serangga yang terperangkap atau lengkep pada perangkap kunung seperti lalat buah (Bactrocera sp.) dan imago dari ulat crop (Plutella xylostela) serta beberapa serangga lain.

Abstract

ABSTRAKMinimnya informasi pemanfaatan bahan lokal sebagai dasar pembuatan pupuk padat di Kelompok Wanita Tani Suka Maju, Kelurahan Malumbi, Kabupaten Sumba Timur merupakan alasan utama yang mendasari kegiatan pengabdian ini. Tujuan pengabdian kepada masyarakat untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan pembuatan pupuk organik padat dari bahan arang sekam dan kotoran sapi. Oleh karena itu, ketergantungan terhadap penggunaan pupuk anorganik, serta biaya produksi tanaman hortikultura dapat dikurangi. Metode pelatihan yang digunakan yaitu ceramah, diskusi, dan demontrasi, sedangkan metode evaluasi pelaksanaan pelatihan yaitu observasi. Hasil yang diperoleh bahwa petani sangat antusias selama kegiatan berlangsung, dan mampu mempraktikkan pembuatan pupuk organik secara mandiri. Pelatihan ini memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan baru bagi Kelompok Wanita Tani Suka Maju dalam memanfaatkan bahan lokal yang ada dilingkunganya untuk dijadikan pupuk serta mampu meningkatkan produksi tanaman hortikultura yang diusahakan. Kata kunci: kelompok tani; pelatihan; pupuk organik; arang sekam padi; kotoran sapi ABSTRACTThe lack of information on the use of local materials as the basis for making solid fertilizer in the Suka Maju Women Farmers Group, Malumbi District, East Sumba Regency is the main reason for conducting service activity. The purpose of community service is to increase knowledge and skills in making solid organic fertilizer from husk charcoal and cow dung. Therefore, the dependence on the use of inorganic fertilizers, as well as the cost of producing horticultural crops can be reduced.  The training methods used are lectures, discussions, and demonstrations, while the evaluation method for the implementation of the training is observation. The results showed that farmers were very enthusiastic during the activity, and they were able to practice making organic fertilizer independently. This training provides new knowledge and skills for the Suka Maju Women Farmers Group in utilizing local materials in their environment to be used as fertilizers and has increased the production of cultivated horticultural crops. Keywords: farmer group; training; organic fertilizer; rice husk charcoal; cow dung.

Abstract

Abstract: Moringa leaves can be processed in various food and beverage products such as clear vegetables, juice, omelette, chips, nastar, donuts, bakwan and Moringa leaf noodles. In addition, Moringa leaves can be processed as herbal drinks. Currently, with the covid-19 pandemic conditions around the world, many alternative herbal ingredients are consumed by the public to increase body nutrition in order to prevent transmission of the virus, one of which is Moringa leaves. Moringa plants are high in nutrients, such as vitamin C, calcium, vitamin A, potassium, and protein. The purpose of implementing this PkM activity is to provide information and, to provide assistance to the community in utilizing Moringa plants to prevent Covid-19, as well as to improve community skills in making Moringa herbal drink to prevent Covid-19. This PkM was held at the Ori Angu Farmers Group in Pambotanjara Village, with a series of activities including the socialization of the importance of Moringa leaves, the preparation of raw materials for making herbal moringa drinks, and the practice of manufacturing Moringa leaf herbal drink products. The results of this activity were the socialization of the use of Moringa leaves as a way to increase immunity in order to prevent viruses and the practice of making Moringa leaf tea with members of farmer groups, students and lecturers at the Ori Angu Farmer Group, Pambotanjara Village.Keywords: herbal drink; moringa leaves; prevents covid-19Abstrak: Daun kelor dapat diolah dalam berbagai produk makanan dan minuman seperti sayur bening, juice, omelet, keripik, nastar, donat, bakwan dan mie daun kelor. Selain itu, daun kelor dapat diolah sebagai minuman herbal. Saat ini, dengan adanya kondisi pandemik covid-19 di seluruh dunia, banyak alternatif bahan herbal yang dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat untuk menambah nutrisi tubuh agar dapat mencegah terjadinya penularan virus tersebut, salah satunya adalah daun kelor. Tanaman kelor memiliki nutrisi tinggi, seperti vitamin C, kandungan kalsium, vitamin A, kandungan potasium, dan protein. Tujuan pelaksanaan kegiatan PkM ini adalah untuk memberikan informasi dan, melakukan pendampingan kepada masyarakat dalam memanfaatkan tanaman kelor untuk mencegah covid-19, serta meningkatkan keterampilan masyarakat dalam pembuatan minuman herbal daun kelor dalam mencegah covid-19. PkM ini dilaksanakan di Kelompok Tani Ori Angu Desa Pambotanjara dengan runtutan kegiatan adalah sosialisasi pentingnya daun kelor, persiapan bahan baku pembuatan minuman herbal daun kelor, dan praktik pembuatan produk minuman herbal daun kelor. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah terlaksananya sosialisasi pemanfaatan daun kelor sebagai salah satu cara menambah imunitas tubuh dalam rangka mencegah virus dan dilaksanakannya praktik pembuatan teh daun kelor bersama anggota kelompok tani, mahasiswa dan dosen di Kelompok Tani Ori Angu Desa Pambotanjara.Kata kunci: daun kelor; mencegah covid-19; minuman herbal

Abstract

Lewa sub-district is one of the sub-districts in East Sumba Regency, which has dry land that can be maximized for the development of porang plants and development purposes; information on the potential of porang plantations is needed. This study aimed to determine the biophysical characteristics of the land and the land suitability class of porang plants. The analytical method used was the matching method by comparing the land characteristics and plant growth requirements and the overlay method. The matching results show that the land characteristics in Lewa Subdistrict are class S1 (Very suitable), covering an area of 26.220,209 ha and Class S2 (quite suitable), covering an area of 3.608,523 ha. Limiting factors in this area are water availability (OA) such as drainage, nutrient retention (nr) such as CEC and pH, and erosion hazards (eh) such as slope.

Abstract

Agricultural land is land that can affect agricultural productivity. Land, which is part of land resources, is the main component in the production of agricultural commodities. In supporting the productivity of agricultural commodities, there must be sufficient nutrients in the soil. Tabundung sub-regency is a producer of food crops, livestock and fisheries. As the main producer in the agricultural sector, the production of agricultural crops is not proportional to the total area of harvested land, meaning that the productivity of agricultural crops is not optimal if it is based on harvested area. The study was conducted in Tarimbang Village, Proud Watu and Tapil Regency of Tabundung. The method used in this research was survey technique and soil sampling was carried out in a composite manner. Soil samples were analyzed at the Nusa Cendana University Laboratory, Kupang. Primary data analyzed were elements of nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), organic carbon (C), cation exchange capacity (CEC), and pH. The results showed that the overall nutrient status of N, P, and K were in the medium, high and very high categories, but there were some sample points that were in the low category for macronutrients N and P. While the concentrations of organic C, CEC and pH were overall generally in pretty good condition. This condition indicates that the research area provides sufficient nutrients for plant cultivation during the growth and yield of plants, but improvements are needed to overcome macronutrient deficiencies in several observation locations.

Abstract

Bawang merah merupakan tanaman yang memiliki manfaat sangat tinggi, baik sebagai bumbu masakan maupun digunakan sebagai bahan obat-obatan tradisional. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kelurahan Lambanapu, Kecamatan Kambera Kabupaten Sumba Timur penelitian ini dilakukan karena masyarakat petani di kelurahan Lambanapu masih banyak yang belum dapat memanfaatkan pupuk feses kandang kambing pada tanaman bawang merah, Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon pemberian pupuk kandang feses kambing dengan dosis yang berbeda terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman bawang merah. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lngkap dengan 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan yakni P0 tanpa pemberian pupuk, P1, pemberian pupuk kandang kambing sebanyak 123.75 g/lobang tanam, P2, pemberian pupuk kandang kambing sebanyak 247.5 g/lobang tanam, P3, pemberian pupuk kandang kambing sebanyak 375.25 g/lobang tanam dan P4, pemberian pupuk kandang kambing sebanyak 495 g/lobang tanam. Variabel yang di ukur adalah tinggi Tanaman (cm), jumlah umbi, berat kering umbi (gram), berat kering brangkasan (g). Hasil penelitian menujukan bahwa dosis pupuk kendang kambing 20 ton/ha memberikan pertumbuhan bawang merah terbaik, sedang dosis pupuk kendang kambing 20 ton/ha membemberikan bobot umbi bawang merah terberat

Abstract

Peanut (Arachhis hypogaea L.) is an important food commodity with high economic value which is cultivated by some farmers in East Sumba Regency, because the climatic conditions are very suitable for the development of this commodity. The purpose of this study was to determine the response of giving fruit liquid organic fertilizer with different doses to the growth and yield of peanuts (Arachis hypogaea L.). This research was carried out in March – June 2021 on a land located in RT 09 / RW 03, Kambajawa Village, Waingapu City District. The design carried out in this study was a Randomized Block Design (RAK) with the application of fruit MOL fertilizer, consisting of 5 treatments: P0 = control, P1 = 25 ml/L water, P2 = 50 ml/L water, P3 = 75 ml/L water and P4 = 100 ml/L water. The parameters observed in this study included plant height, number of leaves, dry weight of the stover, number of seeds, number of pods, and weight of seeds. The results of this study showed that the best dose of liquid organic fertilizer for fruit growth and yield of peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) was 75 ml/L of water.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the growth response and yield of mungbean (Vigna radiata L.) on the application of cow and goat manure. This research was conducted from October to December 2021 in Mbatapuhu Village, Haharu District, East Sumba Regency. This study used a non-factorial completely randomized design (CRD) which was repeated three times. The treatments studied were 5 doses of cow manure (S0= 0 t/ha, S5=5 t/ha, S10=10 t/ha, S15=15 t/ha and S20=20 t/ha) and 5 doses of manure. goats (K0=0 t/ha, K5=5 t/ha, K10=10 t/ha, K15=15 t/ha and K20=20 t/ha), so that each treatment of manure contained 15 treatment units. The results showed that the use of cow or goat manure was very influential on the growth and yield of mungbeans. The best dose of cow manure was obtained in the S20 treatment (20 tons/ha), while the goat manure was in the K15 treatment (15 tons/ha). The use of cow manure at a dose of 20 t/ha gave the best results in the number of pods/plant, number of seeds/plant, weight of seeds/plant and weight of 100 seeds, respectively 86.67 pods, 941.00 grains, 90.00 gr/ plants and 11.67 g/100 seeds, while for goat manure the best dose of 15 tons/ha, each gave yields of 95.34 pods, 956.67 grains, 79.99 g/plant and 17.22 g/ 100 seeds. Cow and goat manure has the potential to be used as a source of plant nutrients in an effort to increase yields. Keywords: Cow and goat manure, nutrient sources, mungbeans, increased yield.
