Abstract

Currently, the waste section of Manggala District, Makassar City, still encounters many risks that commonly occur in the waste management supply chain from the waste source to the Temporary Disposal Site (TPS) and then to the Final Disposal Site (TPA). This causes the volume of waste to increase every day due to the lack of segregation of waste from waste sources so that waste in the TPS is scattered due to the fact that the trash cans are no longer able to accommodate it and finally the TPA is over capacity without any effective handling to reduce the volume of waste. Therefore it is necessary to handle the risks that occur. This study aims to provide recommendations for sustainable mitigation strategies to reduce the impact of risks on waste management using the Delphi method to identify potential risks. Using the House of Risk (HOR) in the risk analysis and evaluation stages to determine mitigation strategies. Research data collection was carried out by observation, interviews, questionnaires, brainstorming, and focus group discussions (FGD). Based on the research results it is known that there are 18 risk events and 65 identified risk agents. Furthermore, a mitigation strategy for risk agents is carried out using 16 preventive actions that have been designed using HOR phase II, for further research it is hoped that it will be able to develop waste management in other sub-districts in Makassar City.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and mitigate risks in the purebred chicken egg supply chain in Pesawaran Regency, Lampung Province. The approach used is a combination of the ISO 31000 framework and the House of Risk (HoR) method. The research was conducted on independent breeders and purebred chicken egg distributors, by collecting data through interviews, observations, and questionnaires. Risk identification was carried out using the Content Validity Index (CVI) method, then analyzed using the House of Risk phase 1 to determine the cause of priority risk based on the Aggregate Risk Potential (ARP) value. The eight priority risk causes are determined through the Pareto principle, then classified by risk level. The next stage is risk mitigation using the House of Risk phase 2, by calculating the Effectiveness to Difficulty (ETD-k.) ratio of the proposed mitigation strategy. The results show that the highest priority mitigation strategy is to improve service and fast delivery and provide loyalty programs to repeat customers. This research is expected to be able to contribute to systematic risk management, and can be used as a reference in improving the efficiency and sustainability of the purebred chicken egg supply chain in Pesawaran Regency

Abstract

This study aims to optimize the performance of warehousing logistics in inbound and outbound HRC coil activities at PT. XYZ through the integration of Lean Warehousing and Line Balancing approaches. The main problems faced are distribution delays due to operational bottlenecks, imbalance in workload between processes, and the absence of an effective distribution flow management system. The methods used include observation, case studies, brainstorming, and the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) approach supported by Fishbone Diagrams, Pareto Charts, and 5 Whys analysis. The data analyzed includes total warehousing profits from January to October 2024, factors causing delays, and standard time measurements for each work activity. The RCA results identified six dominant factors contributing to 80.44% of delays. Based on these findings, a solution was designed using the 5W + 1H method, including a loading and unloading slot booking system, development of outbound coil buffer areas, standard time measurements, forklift preventive checklists, and line balancing of work activities. The design implementation increased inbound efficiency from 29% to 74% and outbound from 34% to 62%. Inbound idle time decreased from 14,059.21 seconds to 1,988.85 seconds (savings of 201 minutes), while outbound decreased from 15,504.01 seconds to 4,907.28 seconds (savings of 176 minutes). Inbound balance delay decreased from 71% to 26%, outbound from 66% to 38%, and the smoothing index showed a more even workload distribution. These findings prove that integrating Lean Warehousing and Line Balancing reduces waste, accelerates distribution flows, and increases HRC coil warehousing productivity.

Abstract

This research aims to improve the efficiency of the canting tool used in the Batik-making process in Giriloyo Village. One of the main issues identified is the suboptimal size of the canting spout, which causes wax blockages due to dirt particles. This study employs TRIZ tools, including Function Analysis, to identify problems, develop innovative solutions to the issues, and develop solutions that address contradictions in the canting system. The analysis results indicate that several inventive principles, such as Merging, Beforehand Cushioning, Segmentation, and Feedback, can enhance the canting tool's performance. Proposed solutions include adding a heater, filter, flow regulator, and interchangeable canting spouts to meet different needs. These solutions can accelerate the Batik-making process, reduce production costs, and enhance market competitiveness. However, further verification is required to validate the proposed design's superiority over traditional canting tools. This research opens opportunities for further development in Batik tool innovations to enhance the sustainability of the Batik creative industry in Indonesia.

Abstract

In every large, medium and small industrial enterprise, risks must occur in the business process. The study conducted at one of the small medium enterprise (SME) in the Bantul, Yogyakarta. It begins with the fact that obstacles that often occur are delays in delivery, product damage, and also other obstacles. Hence, those are the reasons of this study conducted. Further, the risk management framework has an important role in reducing these problems. The approach used ISO 31000 method and the SCOR Model in making a proposed framework to improve risk management performance. Based on the proposed framework that has been made, the risk identification process in Rajut Bamboo has 32 risks in its business processes. The risk mitigation proposal is carried out on seven risks in the high-risk category. The risk mitigation results are obtained in the risk codes (D3) unfinished product and absence of SOP, (M2) quality control takes a long time, (P5) unplanned overhead costs, and (A1) products in storage are damaged or lost, thus it showed down to medium risk category, then the risk codes (D9) expensive packaging material costs, (D2) order time exceeds the specified time, and (M6) no mitigation planning, thus it showed down to low-risk category.

Abstract

In Indonesia, 23-48 million tons of food waste are generated annually, causing economic losses of IDR 213-551 trillion or around 4-5% of GDP. Food waste offers potential for valorization into products like animal feed, organic fertilizer, and biofuel but faces challenges such as technological limitations, high costs, and safety concerns. This study examines the safety of food waste-derived products for human and animal use, focusing on applications in animal feed, the food industry, cosmetics, bio-refinery, and organic fertilizers. Key processes include contaminant removal and safety assessments, though limited studies address physicochemical, microbiological, and toxic contaminant evaluations. Identified gaps in Indonesian regulations, particularly regarding safety standards, highlight the need for clearer guidelines and support for eco-friendly technologies. Enhancing these frameworks can ensure the safe and sustainable valorization of food waste.
