Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between mastery of English scientific vocabulary and comprehension of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) texts, particularly Microbiology and Physiotherapy texts. Data were obtained from 2 study programs: 16 Physiotherapy students and 26 Pharmacy students. Data were obtained by giving vocabulary and reading tests to students who had previously been taught English scientific vocabulary and reading of ESP texts. Vocabulary and reading materials taught and tested in the two Study Programs were different, based on the needs of the Study Programs. Data analysis was carried out using t test to determine the correlation between mastery of English scientific vocabulary and comprehension of ESP texts. Based on the analysis in Pharmacy students, there is a significant correlation between vocabulary scores and reading scores (P value <0.05). Meanwhile, in the correlation analysis of English scientific vocabulary mastery and physiotherapy texts comprehension, a value of 002 <0.05 was obtained, which means that there is a significant correlation of vocabulary scores and reading scores. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that there is a significant correlation between the mastery ​​of English scientific vocabulary and the comprehension of English for Specific Purposes Text.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Diketahui kurang dari 80% dari jumlah anak yang memiliki gangguan perkembangan juga mengalami kesulitan pada pengaturan keseimbangan tubuh.Pengaturan keseimbangan tubuh diperlukan anak untuk melakukan kegiatan-kegiatan yang lebih sulit dan kompleks. Kegiatan diperlukan untuk meningkatkan keseimbangan dinamis anak usia 5-6 tahun. aktivitas fisik yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan keseimbangan dinamis anak adalah senam irama. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh senam irama terhadap keseimbangan anak usia 5-6 tahun Di TK indria Jaya Joyosuran Surakarta. Metode: Penelitian pre eksperimental dengan metode one grup pretest-posttest. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan Teknik purposive sampling. Hasil uji bivariate membuktikan bahwa terdapat pengaruh senam irama terhadap keseimbangan dinamis anak usia 5- 6 tahun (p value=0,000). Kesimpulan: Terdapat pengaruh antara senam irama dengan keseimbangan dinamis anak usia 5 – 6 Tahun Di Tk Indria Jaya Joyosuran, Surakarta.

Abstract

Background: Adolescence is a relatively fast period of physical change experienced by adolescents when puberty is marked by the first menstruation (menarche). Menstruation and menstrual habits continue to encounter numerous social, cultural, and religious barriers, which make it extremely difficult to maintain good hygiene during the menstrual cycle. Objective: Analyzing menstruation practices and the prevalence of dysmenorrhea in adolescent female is the goal of this study.   Method: The cross-sectional investigation was carried out in Sukoharjo and Surakarta. The research was carried out between December 2023 and January 2024. Adolescent female samples had reached menarche. WaLIDD score is an instrument used to measure dysmenorrhea. Results: The results of this study show as many as 71.7% of Menarche adolescent girls at the age of 12-14 years. As many as 44.4% of respondents said dysmenorrhea almost always interfered with work activities. Data also shows that nearly 100 % of respondents wash their hands before and after replacing menstrual materials. The majority of them wash their genitals using soap (79.1%) and replace pads (>3 times) 72.5%. Conclusion: Most respondents practice good menstrual hygiene, characterized by frequent washing of hands and genitals. Adolescent females who are knowledgeable about their periods can make hygienic and safe menstrual habits.
