Abstract

In Batuah Village, production of pepper has decreased due to land fires, land conversion to the mining sector and changes in other crop commodities and the price of pepper which is always changing and tends to decline. The welfare of farmers can be realized starting from increased income, increased production, and high purchase prices. The factor that causes farmers to feel less prosperous and not yet developed is that the price of pepper is bought cheaply by middlemen or collectors. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of pepper farmers and whether there is an effect of changes in pepper prices on farmer welfare. The results showed that rcount <rtabel (-0.331 <0.396), and it can be concluded that there is a very weak influence between the effect of price and the welfare of pepper farmers. It can be assumed that it is not only pepper plants that are planted by pepper farmers so that pepper farmers do not depend only on the commodity of the pepper plant.

Abstract

This study aims to see the effectiveness of vegetable pesticides from soursop seeds and peppercorns in controlling caterpillar pests that attack palm oil crops. The research was conducted at Soil and Water Laboratory, and in Muara Badak oil palm plantation, the duration of 2 months research from 29 April to 29 June 2017, covering preparation of tools and materials, making and application of vegetable pesticide and data collection. This study used a complete randomized design, consisting of 3 treatment extracts namely control (K0), Soursop seed (K1), and pepper seed (K2), which was repeated 5 times. The results showed that the treatment of vegetable pesticide extract from seeds of soursop and pepper seeds did not give a real effect in controlling caterpillar pests.

Abstract

Abstract

The hydroponic system can be a solution for the development of fruit and vegetable crops with various advantages over conventional agricultural systems, where nutritional needs and the growing environment (microclimate) can be manipulated using appropriate technology so that plants can grow optimally. Objective Measuring the success of hydroponics with a remote control system for regulating light intensity, humidity and temperature on the microclimate scale on hydroponic plants and comparing strawberry plants treated with microclimate settings without treatment, by making a cover shade and humidifier with an automation system and temperature sensor. This research was conducted at the Rooftop of Gedung Merah Politani Samarinda for 1 year starting from January 2020 to December 2020. This study used a completely randomized non-factorial one-factor 2-level treatment design, namely P1 = strawberry cultivation with shade treatment and humidifier P2 = strawberry cultivation without microclimate treatment (shade and humidifier). Each treatment level was repeated as many as 20 plants so that the total plants used in this study were 40 plants. The results of this study were the increase in the number of leaves of strawberry plants aged 8 weeks after planting, the highest average was in treatment P1, namely 8.55 cm and the lowest average of strawberry plants in treatment P2 was 6.50, and the increase in the number of leaves of strawberry plants aged 12 weeks after planting, the highest average was at P1, namely 13.7 cm and the lowest average for strawberry plants in treatment P2 was 9.50. While the number of stowberry tillers aged 8 and 12 weeks after planting (mst) P1 and P2 had no significant effect, meaning that the treatment level had no effect on the number of stowberry tillers.

Abstract

This study aimed to calculate the speed of growth characterized by the emergence of shoots and percentage of successful growth of red betel cuttings cuttings given plant growth regulator cow urine. The study consisted of two treatments, namely: first treatment, red betel cuttings soaked in concentration 30% cow urine, and second treatment, red betel cuttings soaked in concentration 50% cow urine. The results showed that immersion with cow urine in the first treatment (red betel cuttings soaked using cow urine by concentration 30%) and second (soaking red betel cuttings with concentration 50%) gave the same results in the speed of growth that showed speed buds appear on 5th day, while the best percentage growth of red betel cuttings in the second treatment was 100% followed by the first treatment of 83%.

Abstract

Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is a food crop as an energy source that is generally consumed by the Indonesian people so that demand continues to increase every year. One of the efforts to increase rice production can be done through the use of young seedlings and microbes to accelerate the process of soil fertilization. This microbe is obtained from the Mas Conch Pest which is processed into Local Microorganisms (MOL). This study aims to determine the effect of giving MOL golden snail and seedling age on the growth and production of rice. This study used a Randomized Block Design (RAK) consisting of 9 treatment combinations and 3 replications. The first factor is the MOL concentration of golden snail, consisting of: 0 ml/L concentration or control, 20 ml/L concentration, and 40 ml/L concentration. The second factor is the age of the seedlings, consisting of: 17 days after sowing), 11 days after sowing and 15 days after sowing. The results showed that the treatment with a concentration of 40 ml/l of Local Microorganisms Conch Mas (M) had a significant effect on the number of productive tillers, the number of pithy grain per panicle and production per hectare. While the age of 7 days after seedling had a significant effect on the number of pithy grain per panicle, weight of 100 grains, and production per hectare. The interaction between the MOL concentration of 20 ml/l golden snail and 7 days after sowing (M1U1) gave a significant effect on the weight of 100 grains.
