Abstract

This grounded theory research approach was directed to understand how Pemerintah Daerah developed its strategic process in dealing with local autonomy and globalization, both on the organizational level and individual level. In-depth interview was applied to 14 high level Pemerintah Daerah Officials. It was directed to understand their experiences in managing changing situations. The results showed that there were six major themes: (1) empowering the society; (2) restructuring the organization; (3) improving management system; (4) economic development; (5) developing the human resources; and (6) shifting the mindset. Reanalyzing these themes by using selective and axial coding, it was found that there were two emerging major functions of the strategy, i.e.(1) Maintaining the system; (2) adapting to environmental demands.Keywords: grounded theory, open coding, selective coding, axial coding, themes, strategy.

Abstract

By utilizing action research approach, this paper discusses the process of how to extent organizational life using rightsizing program. Results indicate that the program, formerly, did not work smoothly. However, after the researcher make some changes in approaching parties involved, the program finally could work well and even get positive response from those parties. Final result of rightsizing program is the shifting paradigm in managing the aged organization from production oriented to maintenance oriented with HSE as a paradigm. Keywords: rightsizing, hidup organisasi, production-oriented, maintenance-oriented

Abstract

AbstractThis phenomenological study was aimed to understand and to explore how organization identity emerged when it faces with change and development. Based on this understanding, the dynamics and meaning of the new emerging identity was examined, especially in term of how the organization identity functions in dealing with changing environments. Five organizations that experienced and dealt with changing situations were involved within this study. The organizations involved in this study were ranged from educational institutions that developed new core businesses, mining factories that did rightsizing of their organization structures, and hotel businesses that developed their services quality, from two-star to four-star hotel. In-depth interviews were applied to organizations’ decision makers who experienced the processs of developing strategies to deal with change of each organization. The results showed that new identity, the mechanism within the self of the organization, that led to new respect and dignity emerged. New themes were reconstructed and they led to new-emerging organization identity: (1) be more discipline with tighter rules and regulations; (2) be integrated and interconnected to all possible resources; (3) be more flexible, learning hard; and (4) self dignity and respect by developing quality assurance.Keywords: phenomenological study, organization identity, organization change and development, in-depth interviewAbstrakPenelitian dengan menggunakan perspektif fenomenologis ini ditujukan untuk memahami bagaimana dimensi dan makna identitas organisasi yang sedang mengalami perubahan. Melalui pem berkecimpung di bidang perhotelan yang tengah mengembangkan kualitas layanannya; dari bintang dua menuju ke kualitas layanan hotel bintang empat. In-depth interview digunakan pada para pengambil keputusan dalam organisasi yang mengalami langsung proses pengembangan strateahaman ini digali secara lebih mendalam bagaimana dinamika organisasi dalam memahami dan memaknai perkembangan identitas dirinya dalam konteks perubahan lingkungan. Lima organisasi yang sedang mengalami proses perubahan dilibatkan dalam penelitian ini. Organisasi-organisasi yang diteliti terdiri atas institusi pendidikan yang sedang mengembangkan bisnis atau aktivitas initinya, perusahaan pertambangan yang melakukan proses rightsizing, dan organisasi yanggi organisasi dalam menghadapi perubahan. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa orgnisasi membangun dan mengembangkan identitas baru, yang merupakan mekanisme yang berkembang dalam ‘diri’ organisasi, yang mengarah pada tema new respect and dignity. Identitas baru ini meliputi: (1) disiplin dengan membangun aturan dan regulasi yang lebih ketat; (2) terintegrasi dan terkoneksi dengan semua sumber daya yang relevan; (3) lebih lentur, dan belajar lebih keras; dan (4) self dignity and respect melalui upaya mengembangkanquality assurance yang efektif.Kata kunci: perspektif fenomenologis, identitas organisasi, perubahan organisasi

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pemaknaan pengasuhan yang dimiliki oleh ibu tunggal, serta faktor yang dapat mempengaruhi pengasuhan pada anak yang mengalami intellectual disability. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Partisipan utama penelitian berjumlah dua orang. Pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara mendalam dan observasi. Pengujian kredibilitas penelitian menggunakan member checking, triangulasi sumber, dan deskripsi secara detail terkait partisipan penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ibu tunggal yang mengasuh anak intellectual disability seorang diri, memaknai pengasuhan sebagai suatu titik balik kehidupan yang membantu ibu tunggal untuk menemukan kapasitas serta intensitas terbesar didalam diri mereka dalam menjalani kehidupan yang diperoleh melalui serangkaian perilaku yang bersifat evaluatif seperti refleksi diri, memahami kembali nilai hidup yang dimiliki dan menyadari otoritas dirinya dalam menjaga stabilitas keluarga dan pengasuan anak pasca ditinggal oleh suami. Selain itu, pandangan lingkungan sekitar terhadap kondisi anak juga dapat memunculkan pengaruh tertentu terhadap penerapan pengasuhan yang diberikan oleh ibu tunggal kepada anaknya.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi konsep psikoterapi yang didasarkan pada ajaran kawruh jiwa dengan ngudari reribetnya yang berbasiskan rasa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan fenomenologi sebagai perspektif. Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah dua orang pelajar kawruh jiwa. Data didapatkan melalui metode wawancara mendalam dan disertai dengan triangulasi data literatur. Hasil penelitian ini menjelaskan mawas diri dengan jalan kandha-takon melalui nyawang karep untuk nyocokaken raos dalam ngudari reribet adalah sebagai sebuah esensi model psikoterapi kawruh jiwa Ki Ageng Suryomentaram

Abstract

Penelitian ini memfokuskan kajiannya pada hakim yang tengah menjalanipenugasan di daerah terpencil. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif denganpendekatan fenomenologi untuk mengeksplorasi kehidupan para hakim yang tengahmenjalani penugasan di daerah terpencil. Fokus peneliti adalah tentang dinamika psikologispara hakim untuk mencapai kesejahteraan subjektif dan faktor-faktor yang memenga-ruhinya. Subjek penelitian ini melibatkan tiga orang hakim yang memiliki masa kerja 5hingga 10 tahun, dengan rentang usia 30 hingga 50 tahun. Temuan penelitian ini adalahtentang dinamika psikologis para hakim selama bertugas di daerah terpencil yaitumencakup sejumlah fase – fase kehidupan yaitu, proses awal sebagai hakim, masa adaptasisebagai hakim baru, fase berdamai dengan keadaan, masa penempatan di daerah terpencil,fase adaptasi di daerah terpencil, fase berdamai dengan kondisi penempatan di daerahterpencil dan hikmah menuju bahagia. Temuan lainnya adalah sejumlah faktor yang dapatmemengaruhi kesejahteraan subjektif para hakim di daerah terpencil yaitu peran keluarga,sikap terhadap pekerjaan, prinsip dan komitmen terhadap pekerjaan, kondisi dilematisantara independensi dan makhluk sosial, dan peran rekan kerja.

Abstract

This research aimed to explore how an organizational identity was used as business strategy for private TV station. Qualitative approach with traditional grounded theory was used as research design. The data were collected through observation, interview and document analysis. The study found that organizational identity can be useful as business strategy to gain market positioning. Abstract

Considering the increased concerns related to the issues of moral and spiritual leadership, I conducted two studies to develop the construct and measure of prophetic leadership. In the first study, three Indonesian Moslem leaders were interviewed to describe their leadership behavior and characteristics from their own praxis. Prophetic leadership is the ability to influence others accomplishing shared objectives that is reinforced by soul enlightenment as the prophets have shown in their time. In the second study, 40 items were generated for measuring prophetic leadership were administrated to 151 employee of Islamic University of Indonesia. The dimensions that represent prophetic leadership consist of sidiq (conscience centred), amanah (trustworthy and highly committed), tabligh (communication skills), and fathonah (problem solver). The construct is translated into a measure called prophetic leadership scale. The results show an empirical support for its construct validity. A positive significant intercorrelations among four dimensions were found. Items were loaded into four different mentioned dimensions. Abstract

This study was directed to explore the grasshopper phenomenon, the professional workers who always moved from job to jobs. It was intended to understand and explain why individual professional changed his/her jobs repeatedly. Qualitative research approach with case study as the research strategy was implemented. Based on the story revealed from the respondents, this research explained that the grasshoppers individuals moved from one job to another because of motivational factors (such as financial, willing to learn, willing to search more challenging jobs, etc), basic need factors (self-fulfillment and a need to share), and supporting factors (such as networking, family support, etc). This study showed that being a grasshopper served as a tool for achieving the vision, that is to fulfill the two basic needs (self fulfillment and a need to share).
