Abstract

Antibacterial activity of taro leaves ekxtract has been conducted. The Recearch aimed to determine the antibacterial activity and concentration of ethanol extract of taro leaves (Colocacia esculeta) inhibited the growth of either Salmonella thypi and Staphylococcus aureus by agar diffusion. The result of the antibacterial activity screening in concentration of 1% showed that the ethanol extract of taro leaves by solid dilution provided activity againts Salmonella thypii and Staphylococcus aureus. Based on the test results of antibacterial activity by agar diffusion using concentration of 1% , 2% and 4 % showed that the ethanol extract of taro has the largest inhibition zone diameter againts Staphylococcus aureus of 4% was 15 mm.

Abstract

The aim of the research to determine the antibacterial and antioxidant activity of Colocacia esculenta fraction leaves derive from Pare-Pare South Sulawesi in using TLC- Bioautography and diphenilpycril Hydroxil. Screening antibacterial activity test of the Colocacia esculenta fraction leaves exhibited in concentration 1% active on pathogenic bacteria Salmonella thypi. Based on either antibacterial and antioxidant activities by TLC-Bioautography showed that fraction at Rf 0.70 value active on bacteria Salmonella thypi and antioxidant active as well. Identification of active chemical compound showed flavonoid compound using Iodium-KI and antimo (III) clorida as reagent.

Abstract

Buah lemon (Citrus limon L.) merupakan tanaman yang banyak mengandung vitamin C yang merupakan salah satu senyawa antioksidan alami. Telah dilakukan penelitian formulasi pengembangan perasan buah C. limon dalam bentuk facial peeling scrub dengan variasi konsentrasi TEA-stearat (FA= 1:2 dan FB= (2:1). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menetukan formulasi yang paling stabil dan memiliki aktivitas antioksidan dari krim perasaan buah C. limon yang diformulasikan kedalam bentuk facial peeling scrub. Sedian facial peeling scrub ini menggunakan scrub jagung dengan ukuran partikel 0,5 mm. Evaluasi kestabilan dilakukan dengan pengamatan uji organoleptik, volume krimming, homogenitas, pH, tipe emulsi, viskositas dan aliran sebelum dan sesudah kondisi dipaksakan selama 10 siklus pada suhu 5C dan 35C. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa FA dan FB stabil setelah penyimpanan kondisi dipaksakan. Aliran dari kedua formula menunjukkan aliran thiksoropi.

Abstract

The red dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) is a plant with lots of polyphenols that contains greater natural antioxidants compared on its peel which has not been optimally utilized in the manufacture of face and skincare products.  This research, therefore, aims to produce peel-off masks from ethanol extracts of red dragon fruit using various concentrations of polyvinyl alcohol. It started by extracting samples using 96% ethanol solvent by the maceration method, followed by the formulation of the peel-off mask using polyvinyl alcohol. The mask evaluation process consists of organoleptic, pH, homogeneity, drying time, viscosity, and flow determination. The result showed that the peel-off mask formula with a 10% polyvinyl alcohol base has optimal pharmaceutical stability.Key words: Red dragon fruit extract (Hylocereus polyrhizus): Peel-off mask: Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) Buah naga merah (Hylocereus polyrhizus) merupakan salah satu tanaman yang kaya akan polifenol dan merupakan sumber antioksidan. Saat ini pemanfaatan buah naga merah terpaku pada daging buahnya, sedangkan kulitnya belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal, apalagi dalam perawatan kulit dan wajah. Selain itu, aktivitas antioksidan pada kulit buah naga merah lebih besar dibandingkan daging buahnya, sehingga berpotensi untuk dikembangkan menjadi sumber antioksidan alami (Wu, et all. 2006). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan sediaan masker peel off dari ekstrak etanol kulit buah naga merah (Hylocereus polyrhizus) dengan menggunakan variasi konsentrasi polivinil alkohol untuk membantu dalam pembentukan film. Penelitian ini diawali dengan mengekstraksi sampel kulit buah naga merah dengan menggunakan pelarut etanol 96 % menggunakan metode maserasi. Ekstrak etanol yang diperoleh selanjutnya diformulasi menjadi sediaan masker peel off dengan menggunakan polivinil alkohol. Evaluasi masker peel off meliputi organoleptik, pH, Homogenitas, lama pengeringan, viskositas, dan penentuan aliran. Abstract

Face mask peel off is a skin care product that when applied to the skin will dry out which can be peeled off from the skin of the face. Avocado Flesh (Persea americana Mill.) has powerful antioxidants that can be used in moisturizing and anti-aging products. This study aims to produce mask preparations to peel off gel from avocado fruit extract (Persea americana Mill.) to moisturize facial skin. This study used the maceration method to obtain a thick extract from avocado fruit. Mask formulation peel off made in a variety of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) bases, namely 10% (F1), 12% (F2) and 14% (F3) as a film-forming agent. The evaluation is based on physical parameters including organoleptic, homogeneity, spreadability, pH, viscosity, flow properties, drying time and measurement of facial skin moisture levels. The evaluation results on the pH test, homogeneity and drying time showed that all formulas met the standard parameters, namely the PVA pH test 10% = 6.46; PVA 12% = 6.4; PVA 14% = 6.35, in the long test the drying time of 10% PVA = 18.97 minutes; PVA 12% = 20.82 minutes; and 14% PVA = 24.66 minutes. Meanwhile, in the organoleptic test,viscosity, the three formulas were pharmaceutically unstable, namely in the organoleptic test the three formulas experienced a change in consistency, in the spreadability test the spreadability value of PVA 10% = 5.41; PVA 12% = 4.75; PVA 14% = 4.03, in the viscosity test of the three formulas after forced conditions = E (error: the viscosity value exceeds the maximum limit of the viscometer). Based on the results of the facial skin moisture test, it shows that Avocado fruit extract with a concentration of 0.6% can provide effectiveness as a moisturizer for facial skin.

Abstract

Prescription review is an activity in pharmaceutical services that begins with the selection of administrative requirements, pharmaceutical requirements and clinical requirements for both inpatients and outpatients. The prescription review aims to analyze drug-related problems and avoid medication errors, especially at the prescribing stage. This research is a non-experimental research with a descriptive research design. Data collection was carried out using a retrospective approach. The population in this study were all prescriptions for pediatric concoctions at the Salotungo Health Center Soppeng Regency for the period January-March 2022 which met the inclusion criteria of 159 prescriptions. The results showed the percentage of administrative aspects completeness, namely patient name (100%), patient age (100%), patient gender (100%), patient weight (88.67%), doctor's name (95.59%), initials doctor (96.85%), date of prescription (99.37%), room of prescription unit (99.37%). Compatibility of pharmaceutical aspects, namely dosage form (93.71%), dosage strength (0%), drug dosage (100%), drug amount (100%), rules and method of use (100%), hygroscopic instability (37.33% ), photolytic instability (66.65%), incompatibility (0%). Then for the clinical aspect, namely there is no drug duplication, for dosage accuracy there are 2% experiencing an overdose and (3%) experiencing an underdosage. It can be concluded that from all the aspects that have been studied at the Salotungo Health Center, Soppeng Regency, they have not fully complied with the suitability of the prescription based on the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia No. 74 of 2016 concerning Standards for Pharmaceutical Services at Health Centers.
