<![CDATA[Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan menerapkan strategi KWL (Know, Want to know and Learn) yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran dalam mempelajari teori sastra. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti mengumpulkan data dari mahasiswa semester IV Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Mahasaraswati Denpasar yang mengambil mata kuliah Introduction to Literature. Strategi ini dapat membantu mahasiswa untuk memahami teori dan dalam KWL juga membantu dosen agar mahasiswa tetap termotivasi dan tertarik ketika mereka berpikir tentang apa yang ingin mereka ketahui dan apa yang telah mereka pelajari. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui pre-test, post-test dan angket di akhir siklus. Selanjutnya peneliti menggunakan teknik tes berupa tes lisan untuk semua siklus. Target pencapaian atau ketuntasan belajar siswa adalah A sebesar 50%, B sebesar 40%, C sebesar 10%, dan D 0%. Dari hasil nilai rata-rata siswa terjadi peningkatan secara signifikan. Selain itu, hasil angket yang telah diberikan menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa merespon positif penerapan strategi KWL dalam prestasi belajar mahasiswa. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil angket bahwa lebih dari 90% memberikan respon yang baik bahwa strategi KWL dapat meningkatkan prestasi belajar mahasiswa dalam teori sastra.]]>

<![CDATA[Pengelolaan pembelajaran yang efektif membutuhkan berbagai jenis media pembelajaran. Media pembelajaran dapat mempercepat kreativitas belajar siswa dan membantu siswa untuk memahami konsep dan isi materi pembelajaran secara luas. Media pembelajaran adalah alat dalam proses belajar mengajar yang digunakan dalam menyampaikan materi pembelajaran dari guru kepada siswa agar efektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji kreatif crafting pada anak usia dini. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa media kreatif crafting untuk membantu anak-anak meningkatkan kompetensi bahasa Inggris mereka. Media kreatif crafting sangat efektif untuk mengembangkan bahasa Inggris anak usia dini. Selain itu, media kreatif crafting dapat mengembangkan daya kreativitas anak usia dini sehingga anak termotivasi untuk belajar dan memiliki capaian belajar yang baik. Dengan demikian, media kreatif crafting merupakan media pembelajaran yang bermanfaat untuk merangsang dan mendukung anak usia dini untuk meningkatkan kemampuan dan kreativitas siswa.]]>

<![CDATA[Writing is considered as an important skill in learning process which is needed to be mastered by the students. However, in teaching learning process at schools or universities, the assessment of writing skill is not becoming the focus of learning process and the assessment is administered inappropriately. In this present study, the researcher undertook the study which dealt with assessing descriptive paragraph writing ability of the students through picture description by employing an ex post facto as the research design. The present study was intended to answer the research problem dealing with the extent of the students’ achievement of descriptive paragraph writing ability which is assessed through picture description. The samples under the study were 40 students determined by means of random sampling technique with lottery system. The data were collected through administering picture description as the research instrument. The obtained data were analyzed by using norm-reference measure of five standard values. The results of the data analysis showed that there were 67.50% samples of the study were successful in writing descriptive paragraph, while there were 32.50% samples were unsuccessful in writing descriptive paragraph which was assessed by administering picture description test]]>

<![CDATA[Reading comprehension is a crucial skill needs to be developed because the readers needto comprehend their readings in order to obtain the useful information. This study was aimedto find out whether or not the subjects’ reading comprehension can be improved throughKWL strategy combined with picture. The subjects were the eighth grade students of SMP N2 Tampaksiring in academic year 2020/2021. Based on the result of pre-test, it was foundthat many students had problems in identifying general and specific information, textualmeaning and textual reference. Therefore, the KWL strategy combined with picture wascarried out which divided into two cycles. The data were gathered by administering post-test1 and post-test 2 in the end of each cycle. The mean scores of pre-test, post test 1, and posttest2 were respectively, 52.03, 66.17, and 76.17. The result of the post-tests showed thesignificant improvements toward subjects’ reading comprehension. Moreover, the result ofquestionnaire showed that the subjects positively responded toward the use of KWL Strategycombined with picture. In conclusion, this study proved that reading comprehension of theeighth grade students of SMP N 2 Tampaksiring in academic year 2020/2021 could beimproved by using KWL Strategy combined with picture.]]>

<![CDATA[The present study which made use of an ex-post facto research with correlation design was intended to figure out the significant between Vocabulary Mastery and Writing Ability of The Eighth-grade Students of SMP N 2 Ubud in Academic Year 2020/2021. The samples of the research consisted of 38 students which were chosen by means of cluster sampling method with lottery system. The data were collected through administering the research instruments which were in the form of structured cloze task and picture description. The obtained data were statistically analyzed by using Pearson product moment correlation and t-test. The results of the data analysis clearly revealed the alternative hypothesis was accepted. In other words, the research findings confirmed that there is significant correlation between Vocabulary Mastery and Writing Ability of the Eighth-grade Students of SMP N 2 Ubud in Academic Year 2020/2021.]]>

<![CDATA[Reading comprehension is a process of transferring information from the writer to the readers. The subjects of the present study had difficulty in identifying general information, specificinformation, textual meaning, and textual reference of reading texts. The objective of the present study was to find out whether or not reading comprehension of the eleventh grade students of SMA (SLUA) Saraswati 1 Denpasar can be improved through KWL Stragey. Therefore, to achieve the objective of the present study, the researcher administered the research instruments : pre-test, post-test and questionnaire. The students’ mean score had improved significantly from the pre-test was 61.63% to 76.35% in cycle I and 81.58 in cycle II. Based on the result in cycle II, the next cycle did not need to be conducted because the researcher expectation achieved in the cycle II. Besides, the result of the questionnaire indicated the students responded the application of KWL strategy in teaching reading comprehension positively. It could be seen that the result of the questionnaire showed the percentage more than 90% agreed on implementation KWL strategy to improve reading comprehension.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to clarify the relationship between vocabulary acquisition and reading comprehension. This study is a correlation study. Samples are selected using a random sampling technique and consist of 30 students. To collect the data, the researchers also used two types of tests. Fill in the blanks for the vocabulary proficiency test and the short answer reading comprehension test. In addition, the data collected were analyzed using the SPSS 20.0 program. The results of the paired sample t-test are bilateral significant values from the student's vocabulary and reading comprehension 010. The results showed that the variances of the significance values of the t-test were relatively equal due to the greater significance. From 0.05. The result of calculating the correlation between the student's vocabulary and reading comprehension in reading comprehension was r = 813. From the results, it can be concluded that there is a significant correlation between vocabulary and reading comprehension in the 8th-grade students of SMP TP.45 Denpasar in 2021/2022.]]>

<![CDATA[The correlation between grammar mastery and writing ability was the purpose of this research study. To conduct this research, the data has collected by the researcher by using correlational research. In collecting the data, the researcher used instrument. The sample were 31 students of the eight grade students of SMPN 4 Mengwi. Quantitative data was used to apply in technique analyzing data. To get the data, the researcher used Pearson Product Moment and the data was taken from grammar and writing test. From the result showed rxy is (0.462) which that in the medium correlation. It means that null hypothesis (Ho) in this research was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. It can be said that, the students with grammar mastery will be easier to writing ability. From the result it can be concluded that there was a positive correlation between grammar mastery and writing ability.]]>

<![CDATA[Most students who are studying English have difficulty identifying general information, specific information, and textual meaning and reference because they lack vocabulary. Therefore, an appropriate and effective teaching strategy should enable the students to improve their reading comprehension. The present study attempts to find out if the reading comprehension of the eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Ubud in the academic year 2020/2021 could be improved through KWL strategy combined with pictures. This research made use of a classroom action design by running two cycles and each cycle consisted of two sessions. running two cycles and each cycle consisted of two sessions. This research was done in two cycles and each cycle consisted of two sessions. The research administered pre-test, post-test, and questionnaire in order to collect the data before they were analyzed. The findings of the research revealed that there were significant improvements in subjects' achievement from the pre-test and post-test. From the questionnaire that was administered in the last cycle, the students gained positive responses in terms of their changing learning behavior toward the application of KWL strategy. Based on the findings of the study, the student’s reading comprehension can be improved through KWL strategy combined with the picture.]]>
