Abstract

Healthy lifestyle behavior has now become a trend and the needs of everyone including the people of Ternate city. The application of a healthy lifestyle is done to prevent the increasing prevalence of non- communicable diseases, including diabetes mellitus. The number of people with diabetes mellitus in Ternate city was 19.7% of the total population in Ternate city and the highest percentage in Indonesia in 2011. This study aims to find out how lifestyle behavior, especially in the behavior of diabetics. The analytical method used is descriptive qualitative by conducting in-depth interview to explore the eating habits of diabetics. The application of the informant’s diet is included in the 3J principle that is according to schedule, number and type. Patient’s eating schedule was approximately four times a day: morning, afternoon, evening, and at night. The type of food consumed is local food and is widely available in Ternate, including white rice, brown rice, corn rice, potatoes and taro.

Abstract

The practice of childbirth labor in the village community is still carried out by traditional birth attendants, and there is a risk of the mother giving birth and the baby being born. The reality which then encourages the birth of a policy regarding the obligations of mothers giving birth must be helped by medical staff or midwives. In general, the purpose of this study is to explore how the partnership of midwives and traditional birth attendants in handling labor. The method used in this study is qualitative with an ethnometodological approach, with technical domain analysis. The results of the study explained that there was good cooperation between midwives and traditional birth attendants in handling labor. Collaboration between midwives and traditional birth attendants is made in an agreement to handle childbirth, and is always done with interpersonal communication between the two. In order not to create a negative impression between the midwife and the dukun, a partnership is needed through mutual agreement in the distribution of tasks, that the midwife helps labor while the dukun accompanies the mother, provides psychological support, and takes care of the mother and post-partum baby. In this study, problems can occur in pregnant women, midwives and traditional healers. Therefore it is necessary to have a good participation and cooperation between pregnant women/mothers with mothers, midwives and shamans

Abstract

In people who have strong culture and traditions, in their daily activities they tend to use a traditional approach in solving their problems. Traditional healers always give birth assistance for pregnant women in traditional societies. On the other hand, to maintain the safety of mothers and babies, government policy requires that birth assistance must be provided by a midwife or medical personnel. Referring to this phenomenon, the focus of the study is the choice of pregnant women in childbirth assistance, between midwives or traditional birth attendants. The method used is qualitative, with an ethnometodological approach, with technical domain data analysis. The results showed that pregnant women prefer midwives in providing delivery assistance, because they are considered safer from a medical perspective. In addition, the motivation given by midwives, traditional healers and community leaders is very important for pregnant women in determining the bonding aid personnel.

Abstract

The adaptation of new normal is actually an effort to maintain good habits that guide the Covid-19 protocol. The habit of wearing masks, avoiding crowds, keeping your distance, and frequently washing your hands with soap have become new habits in community life. The main objective of this research is the application of adaptation to new normal related to covid-19 traditional communities in the Dufa-Dufa village. The method used in this research is qualitative. How to get data using interviews, documents, and observations. Further analysis is carried out, then the data is interpreted and presented in a narrative form. The results showed that in general the traditional communities of Dufa-Dufa village had known about the adaptation of new habits but had not followed it in depth. The community has not been effective and maximally implemented the Covid-19 health protocol in the form of the habit of wearing masks, avoiding crowds, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap.
