Abstract

The lack of support for language activities outside the classroom leads to failure in learning Arabic. This research aims to address this issue through three main objectives: first, to design extracurricular management for improving students' Arabic language skills; second, to explain the processes of organizing, implementing, and evaluating the Arabic extracurricular program; and third, to assess students' success after participating in the program. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through observation and in-depth interviews with six extracurricular teachers across four Arabic extracurricular classes, including news reading, speech, and scientific debate. Semi-structured interviews in Indonesian facilitated easier responses and minimized language barriers for participants. Thematic analysis of the data revealed that students' achievement in Arabic can be significantly enhanced through well-designed extracurricular activities. Key factors include selecting appropriate activities, appointing effective supervisors, aligning student interests with their talents, and implementing innovative strategies with relevant material. Additionally, conducting weekly and semester evaluations is crucial for monitoring and improving student learning outcomes in Arabic.

Abstract

The development of the 'Amiyah' application is based on real conditions in the Arabic class for Hajj. The lack of Amiyah Arabic learning resources makes Arabic Language Education students experience difficulties when learning it. Therefore, to overcome the anxiety regarding minimal learning resources, researchers developed an Android based 'Amiyah' application that all groups, especially students, can use. This method applies development research (RD) methods by adapting the Borg and Gall development model. The research instrument was an indirect closed questionnaire distributed via google form by personal chat. Samples were taken from as many as 30 students in the class. Quantitative and qualitative are used during data processing to provide easy to understand information. The results showed that the trial use of the 'Amiyah' application reached 85% with a very feasible interpretation. Thus, 'Amiyah' can be used as one of the learning media or learning media independently. ‘Amiyah’ is available at the following link https://tinyurl.com/amiyahapk.

In addition, to analyze the data, the researcher used Miles and Huberman's interactive technique with the stages of reducing data that is less relevant to the research objectives, displaying it in the form of tables and narratives, then making conclusions. The researchers used source triangulation and member check techniques to test the validity of the data. The results indicated that there were types of demotivation that faced by students and there are factors that cause demotivation in students learning Arabic at PPBA. Abstract

This study used wordwall application as a learning medium based on educational games. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the wordwall application in increasing the mastery of Arabic vocabulary. This research used a quantitative approach with the research subjects of class VIII. The type of research is quantitative associative which aims to determine the effect or relationship between two or more variables. The data collection methods were interviews, questionnaires, tests, and documentation. The data analysis used a comparative analysis by comparing the pretest and posttest values (related sample t-test). This study revealed the following: (1) Media creation was done by logging into wordwall.net in order to be able to choose the desired shape according to certain needs. (2) There was a significant difference in terms of the pretest score which is smaller than the posttest score (45.63 < 77.50), (3) there was a difference in the average pretest and posttest outcomes with sig value of 0.000 (<0.05). (4) The percentage of N-Gain was 56.6%, which was categorized as quite effective. Based on the data analysis, it was concluded that the wordwall application was quite effective in increasing the mastery of Arabic vocabulary (Students mastered 25 vocabularies for each theme and according to government standards).
