Abstract

ABSTRACTAloe vera is a type of plant that is often used as a wound healing and skin care since thousands of years ago. So this article will present the contents contained in Aloe vera. This research was conducted with the aim to determine the content of Aloe vera extract as a control of Vibrio sp. At Lates Calcarifer. The method used in this research is the method of maceration and GCMS testing. The results of the study showed that Aloe vera extract contained several chemical components such as 1,2-Benzenedicarboxylic acid, dinonyl ester (CAS) Unimoll, with 9.00% percent area, and 7-Octadecenoic acid, methyl ester (CAS) METHYL of 7, 94%. 1,2-Benzenedicarboxylic acid, dinonyl ester (CAS) Unimoll serves as an anti-bacterial and anti-bacterial function, and 7-Octadecenoic acid, methyl ester (CAS) METHYL is able to accelerate the wound healing process in fish, so that the content in Aloe vera extract is very good for controller of Vibrio sp. And Lates Calcarifer.ABSTRAKLidah buaya merupakan salah satu jenis tumbuhan yang sering digunakan sebagai penyembuh luka dan perawatan kulit sejak ribuan tahun silam. Maka tulisan ini akan menyajikan kandungan yang terdapat pada lidah buaya. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan ekstrak lidah buaya sebagai pengendali bakteri Vibrio sp. Pada ikan kakap. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode maserasi dan pengujian GCMS. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak lidah buaya mengandung beberapa komponen kimia seperti 1,2-Benzenedicarboxylic acid, dinonyl ester (CAS) Unimoll, dengan persen area 9,00%, dan 7-Octadecenoic acid, methyl ester (CAS) METHYL sebesar 7,94%. 1,2-Benzenedicarboxylic acid, dinonyl ester (CAS) Unimollberfungsi sebagai anti bakteri dan anti fungsi, dan 7-Octadecenoic acid, methyl ester (CAS) METHYL mampu mempercepat proses penyemuhan luka pada ikan, sehingga kandungan dalam ekstrak lidah buaya ini sangat bagus untuk pengendali Vibrio sp. Abstract

Due to the dynamic and ever-changing contexts of their work, teachers need to continuously develop their professionalism. One professional development procedure close enough to teachers’ work place, the classroom, is Lesson Study (LS). This paper illustrates the potentials benefits of implementing LS in one Islamic school in Lombok and the challenges of implementing this procedure in this particular school. Data were collected through distribution of questionnaire to 31 teachers of this school. Results of data analysis indicate that all teachers are positive about the advantages of applying LS in their classrooms. However, they are also aware of the potential challenges of implementing this professional development procedure in the school, which needs careful consideration. Following a list of all these challenges is recommendation of how to deal with them.

Abstract

This study was aimed to find out whether or not there was a significant difference between male and female students’ ability in answering factual and vocabulary-in-context questions of the TOEFL-Like reading comprehension test. Secondary data analysis was utilized by taking reading comprehension test scores of twenty-one male and twenty-one female students of the English Education Program. Samples were selected using random sampling technique. Data were analyzed using independent sample t-test. Results showed that the t-values of sig. 2-tailed was higher than 0.05 in male and female students’ ability in answering both the factual questions (0.267 > 0.05) and the vocabulary-in-context questions (0.837 > 0.05). The results revealed that there was no significant difference between male and female students’ ability in answering factual and vocabulary-in-context questions of the TOEFL-Like reading comprehension test.

Abstract

In the current era of globalization, a teacher must have pedagogical competence in utilizing technology. The development of the use of technology in the world of education is currently non-negotiable because it has been integrated with the development of every activity of life, including in the world of education. This study aimed to know how the pedagogical competence in using technology in teaching English at a state vocational high school in Mataram. This type of research is a descriptive qualitative method.  The subjects of this study were three English teachers at a state vocational high school in Mataram. Data were collected by observation, interview, and documentation. Then, the data analysis procedures in this study include data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the pedagogical competence of teachers in using technology as a learning medium in teaching English at a state vocational high school in  Mataram was very good, the teachers can apply ICT-based learning media and are skilled in utilizing ICT facilities to develop the material into interesting learning media. So, that the learning process feels fun, creative, innovative, and gives a new spirit in doing the learning. Learning by utilizing technology as a learning medium is a solution for teachers and students in creating the expected classroom atmosphere.

Abstract

Pronunciation is an important component of language learning that must be well mastered in order to support the development of students' competence in language skills, particularly speaking skills. This descriptive research aims to evaluate the accuracy and comprehensibility of English pronunciation among tenth-grade IPS students consisting of 30 students at SMAN 1 Bayan in North Lombok. Qualitative methods were employed, using student voice recordings as primary data and relevant documents as secondary data. The data analysis technique in this study uses the concept of qualitative data analysis developed by Miles and Huberman in (1994), including data reduction, data display and conclusions drawing. The results showed that while some students demonstrated excellent proficiency in English pronunciation, others faced significant challenges in accurately articulating vowel and consonant sounds. These findings highlight the importance of targeted interventions to support struggling students and improve the pronunciation skills of all students. The research questions are focused on the accuracy and comprehensibility of English pronunciation among students in North Lombok. Through our evaluation, we found that the level of accuracy in common words varied among students, with some struggling to pronounce even basic words accurately.

Abstract

A survey was conducted in Empang sub-district, which has many Sumbawa buffalo racing enthusiasts. Before the animals are competed, are they given special feed/herbs? What are their chances of winning? This is what the research will seek to answer, as there is no written information on this subject. The survey found that all farmers give special feed/herbs to their raced sumbawa buffaloes, but the ingredients/recipes differ, ranging from the most complete recipe consisting of 17 ingredients, the medium recipe consisting of 12 ingredients, and the minimalist recipe consisting of 9 ingredients.  All of them have won. The complete recipe won first place (43 pairs of buffalo), the medium recipe won second place (48 pairs of buffalo), and the minimalist recipe (29 pairs of buffalo) won third place.
