Abstract

Tourism development plays a vital role in regional economic growth, especially in culturally and environmentally significant areas such as Tomok and Tuktuk Siadong in Samosir Regency, North Sumatra, Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the influence of tourism expansion on regional spatial planning and sustainable tourism, with a specific focus on the mediating role of hotel accommodation development. Using a quantitative research design, data were collected from [state your actual sample size, e.g., 50] key stakeholders, including local government officials, hotel managers, and community representatives, selected through Slovin’s formula. Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) was employed to test the hypothesized relationships among variables. The results demonstrate that tourism development significantly influences both regional spatial planning and sustainable tourism outcomes. Crucially, accommodation hotel development is found to partially mediate the relationship between tourism development and regional spatial planning, as well as between tourism development and sustainable tourism. These findings highlight that the growth and practices of the hospitality sector are pivotal in shaping land use, infrastructure demands, and the environmental and socio-cultural dimensions of tourism in the region. The study recommends integrated planning approaches that prioritize sustainable hotel development and enhance stakeholder collaboration to achieve balanced and resilient tourism growth in Tomok and Tuktuk Siadong.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of regional development planning and financial management on the sustainability of homestay-based tourism villages, community empowerment, and service quality & economic performance, with synergy/integration serving as a mediating variable. Using a quantitative approach and the SEM-PLS method, data were collected from 101 homestay managers and tourism village stakeholders. The results reveal that both regional development planning and financial management have significant positive effects on synergy/integration among stakeholders. Furthermore, synergy/integration strongly enhances the sustainability of tourism villages, empowers the local community, and improves service quality and economic outcomes. Mediation analysis confirms that the positive impacts of planning and financial management on key outcomes are primarily realized through synergy/integration. These findings highlight the critical role of stakeholder collaboration and integration in achieving sustainable, empowering, and high-performing tourism villages. The study offers practical recommendations for strengthening collaboration, capacity building, and policy development to support the long-term success of homestay-based tourism villages.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze To obtain information on whether there is a positive and significant influence of partial pricing strategies on room occupancy rates at the Niagara Hotel Parapat. The method used in this study is quantitative descriptive with a purposive sampling technique. The analysis tool used is multiple linear regression. From this study, it is known that from 45 respondents who answered the questionnaire with the results of the study, it was obtained that price has a significant effect on hotel room occupancy rates. This can be seen from the calculated t-value of 5.536 which is greater than the t-table value of 2.022 at a significance level of 5%. Thus, the hypothesis stating that price has an effect on room occupancy rates is accepted. Promotion has a significant effect on hotel room occupancy rates. This can be seen from the calculated t-value of 2.287 which is greater than the t-table value of 2.022 at a significance level of 5%. Thus, the hypothesis stating that promotion has an effect on room occupancy rates can be accepted. Price and promotion have a simultaneous effect on hotel room occupancy rates. This is evident from the significance value (Sig) of 0.000, which is lower than the significance level (α) of 0.05. Thus, the hypothesis that price and promotion jointly influence room occupancy rates is accepted.

Abstract

This article analyzes the impact of neoliberal policies on social welfare in developing countries, focusing on the implementation of free market principles, privatization, deregulation, and a reduced role of the state in the economy. While these policies aim to improve economic efficiency and growth, this research finds that neoliberal implementation in developing countries often exacerbates social inequality and reduces the poor's access to basic services such as health, education and social protection. The research identifies negative impacts such as public sector privatization that increases costs for low-income earners, deregulation that makes workers more vulnerable to exploitation, and social budget cuts that reduce the quality of services for marginalized groups. Although some countries experienced economic growth as a result of these policies, the unequal distribution of economic benefits led to increased social inequality. This article suggests the need for more inclusive and sustainable economic policies that can mitigate the negative impacts of neoliberalism, as well as strengthen social security and access to basic services in developing countries.
